I decided to have some soba at this shop on a very hot day when my stomach was feeling tired. The 100% buckwheat soba was a bit worn out and didn't leave a lasting impression. However, the mini katsudon here was delicious. The egg absorbed a good dashi broth, enhancing the flavor of the katsu. It may not be a particularly expensive katsu, but it tasted really good. Thank you for the meal.

I had lunch at the "Gotaka Chaya" in Hankyu Sanbangai in Umeda on a regular weekday. I opted for the "100% soba & mini bowl set [katsudon]" (1,050 yen) as I wanted to eat cold soba, although there were also great value lunch sets available. The soba and mini bowl were both tasty, but they seemed to have a bit too much liquid. Overall, it was a satisfying meal!

On this day, I went a bit far for work and felt exhausted. I wanted to eat something quickly and head back home. I wandered around Sanban-gai and was drawn into a restaurant. If they have donburi or soba, I can eat it quickly. The restaurant is called "Gotaka Chaya" on the B2F floor of Hankyu Sanban-gai. It seems like it has been around since I was a child. The interior has only table seats. When I entered, no one noticed me, which was a bit sad. I ordered the parent and child donburi with a mini soba set for 870 yen. The parent and child donburi seemed to have gotten even more delicious, using rice from Hyogo Prefecture and eggs from Kyoto Tanba. The chicken was tender and the egg was fluffy, and the sauce was nice. The soba was only available warm, although I prefer cold soba. It had a comforting taste. I was so tired that day that I didn't even take a photo of the exterior or the food. After finishing my meal, I quickly paid and headed home. Take care of yourselves in this hot weather. Thank you for the meal. Gotaka Chaya: 06-6372-8050, 1-1-3 Shibata, Osaka City, Kita-ku, Osaka, Hankyu Sanban-gai B2F.

After visiting the Asahi Beer Museum in Suita and on our way back, we stopped by this restaurant in Hankyu Sanbangai in Umeda for lunch. This place is known for their 100% buckwheat soba noodles, and almost all their soba dishes are made with 100% buckwheat. I ordered the "Taiko Set" for 1000 yen, which came with zaru soba (cold soba noodles served on a bamboo tray), tempura, and mixed rice with vegetables. Despite being 100% buckwheat, the soba noodles had a good texture and didn't break easily. The fragrance wasn't too strong, but the soba was delicious. The tempura included shrimp, pumpkin, green pepper, and they were all crispy and tasty. The prices are quite reasonable, so it's easy to visit. Thank you for the meal.

While on a mini diet, I decided to visit this restaurant thinking that soba would be a good option. I ordered the Spicy Daikon Radish Soba with a bottle of beer, while my partner ordered the Tempura Soba. Despite it being a busy Sunday lunchtime with a two-group wait, we enjoyed our meal. The soba had a firm texture with a strong 10% buckwheat flavor. The sweetness of the tempura dipping sauce combined with the spiciness of the daikon radish was delicious. My partner particularly enjoyed the freshly fried tempura. The Spicy Daikon Radish Soba was 790 yen and the Tempura Soba was 1070 yen, both prices including tax. Overall, it was a satisfying lunch with great value for money, even though there was no soba broth provided.

I went to "Otake Chaya" on the B2F of the South Building of Hankyu Sanbangai for lunch. I was torn between the "Oyakodon & Mini Soba" (870 yen) and the "Juwari Soba & Mini Oyakodon" (1,050 yen), but I chose the former. This is the "Mini Soba". It looks like ramen, doesn't it? The noodles are slightly curly and light in color. First, I took a sip of the broth... It was incredibly delicious! The "Oyakodon" is next. The runny egg yolk is a great touch. It's so tasty! They use eggs from Kyoto Tanba. This is a brand from Hirano-ya, which also offers "Wakana Soba".

Soba restaurant located in Hankyu Sanbangai underground. Tempura and soba set for 1080 yen. The soba broth is a bit light, but you can still taste the richness of the soba itself. The tempura includes shrimp, lotus root, pumpkin, shishito pepper, and eggplant, served with tempura dipping sauce. It is delicious and freshly fried.

I felt a little hungry, so I decided to go to this place for some soba noodles. The set meal with 100% buckwheat noodles seemed quite reasonable and a good deal, so I ordered it. You can even get a large portion, but I found the regular size to be more than enough. The smooth soba noodles were easy to eat and went down well. For this price, I think the taste is definitely worth it. It's great to be able to enjoy 100% buckwheat noodles at such an affordable price. Thank you for the meal.

I've been stuck indoors a lot lately, so I haven't been able to go on my usual buckwheat noodle adventures to other prefectures. There are limits to exploring around my workplace area... Hmm, what should I do? I'll take a little walk to Sanbangai. It's on the second basement floor of the South Building. There's a buckwheat noodle shop across the street too. I couldn't decide which one to go to, but today I chose this one. It's 1:00 PM. Maybe because it's after lunchtime, there aren't many customers. I looked at the menu and decided to get the buckwheat noodles with meat and egg sauce. I was feeling a bit tired today, so I wanted some meat to boost my energy. After a while, it was ready. It has quite a bit of meat in it. It's called "meat topping" so I thought it would be piled high, but let's dig into the noodles. You can smell the buckwheat flour. The warm noodles are not 100% buckwheat, but they are still delicious. The broth is a bit light, I thought, but it goes well with the sweet and savory seasoned meat! It was quite filling and warmed me up. A satisfying meal. Thank you!

I wanted to eat soba noodles, so I tried to go to Shinobuan, but I accidentally walked into the soba shop across the street. The menu was different from what I had searched for, but I thought maybe it had changed. Since all the lunch menu items were warm soba, I chose the set menu with juwari soba and katsu don. When the food arrived, I was surprised! The chopstick wrapper said "Ohtakachaya." That's when I finally realized that I had gone to the wrong restaurant. What a big mistake... I tried to focus on the food. The soba broth was slightly sweet, the dried green onions had no aroma, and the soba noodles, despite being juwari soba, had a smooth texture with almost no scent of buckwheat. There was no soba water served. The katsu in the katsu don was small, the egg was firm, and the dashi flavor was weak. The rice was soft. They didn't bring a wet towel, but I'm not sure if they don't have it or just forgot...

This is a soba restaurant located on the north side of B2F of Hankyu Sanban-gai Minami-kan. I had the tempura bowl for 1050 yen, which is part of the 100% soba & mini bowl set. They also offer sets with warm soba or mini soba with a bowl.

I wanted a light lunch before my dinner at a popular yakiniku restaurant, so I decided to try some soba noodles. I ordered the "Tenpura Soba Set" which came with soba noodles, a small side dish, and mixed rice. The soba noodles were not very fragrant but had a nice texture. The dipping sauce helped enhance the flavor. The highlight of the meal was actually the mixed rice, which was light and delicious. The side dishes of hijiki seaweed and pickled vegetables were also satisfying. Overall, this soba lunch set is recommended for a quick and affordable meal.

The soba noodles are decently tasty, but the service from the staff is poor. I understand they are busy, but they don't bring the soba broth unless you ask, and they sometimes bring dishes to the wrong table. I was a bit disappointed. I hope they improve their service.

If you're looking for a place to relax alone, this restaurant is a good choice with its spacious table. Personally, I have ongoing acid reflux, so I opted for the affordable set menu. The portion was surprisingly generous with plenty of mountain vegetables, providing a satisfying meal. Although I felt they may have added a bit too much. The soba noodles were just the right texture and the broth had a good balance. Once my acid reflux improves, I'd like to try their Chicken Cheese Curry Soba.

A soba restaurant located in the basement of Hankyu Sanbangai in Osaka Umeda. The sign outside the store says it's a soba restaurant specializing in 100% buckwheat soba. I tried the lunch set "Warm soba & Mini Yakitori Don set" (880 yen). The yakitori don was delicious with tender chicken and tasty seasoning, topped with a soft-boiled egg. The soba had a light broth and the noodles were soft and white, more like somen than soba. It was a bit disappointing. I didn't look at the main menu as I ordered from the lunch menu, but it seems like you need to order a higher quality dish to truly enjoy the 100% buckwheat soba. Also, looking back at the photos, the menu said it came with pickles, but unfortunately, there were no pickles included.

I visited this restaurant for a quick dinner on my way home. It is located slightly north of Hankyu Sanbangai, and there is a similar Japanese restaurant directly across the aisle. I hesitated between the two, but after comparing the food samples, I chose this restaurant because the duck nanban here was more affordable. It seems to be a long-established restaurant from the Showa era, so the atmosphere inside is quite calming and reassuring for people of our generation. We were seated at a small table for two as all the other tables were occupied by people of a similar age group. I ordered the duck nanban soba. Although the menu mentioned "juwari soba," I was aware that what I ordered was not 100% buckwheat soba based on the price. The serving was quick. The soba was pale in color. I sprinkled some shichimi pepper and tasted the soup, which had a light and slightly bland flavor for duck nanban, with a hint of roughness and a weak umami taste. The duck meat was delicious without any unpleasant smell. The soba had a mild flavor and a slightly wheat-like texture. Considering the price, the duck nanban soba was decently put together. Overall, it was alright. Thank you for the meal.

【December 31, 2021】 A soba restaurant in Hankyu Sanbangai. Every year on New Year's Eve, I used to go to a different shop in Sanbangai, but this time I tried this one for the first time. I arrived around 11:10 am and it seemed to be full, with 2 customers waiting outside. They are not seating at full capacity due to infection prevention measures. I was seated after about 20 minutes, but there was a long line behind me. I ordered the "Taiko Set Meal for 1000 yen". It came quickly after ordering, which was good. I'm not sure about the difference between 100% buckwheat soba and 80% buckwheat soba. The tempura included "shrimp, pumpkin, and green beans". The ingredients in the mixed rice were "burdock, carrot, konjac, shiitake mushrooms", and more.

I visited at lunchtime. There were two soba shops facing each other, and I hesitated on which one to go to, but I ended up choosing this one. I ordered a set meal with 100% buckwheat soba and a mini rice bowl with pork cutlet. First, about the soba... I wasn't sure if it was really 100% buckwheat, as it felt a bit soft and the noodles were cut into thin pieces with a large quantity. The texture lacked firmness, but in a way, it was easy to eat. As for the pork cutlet bowl, there were only two pieces of cutlet and the egg was deliciously runny, but overall it was on the sweet side.
