Do you all know the ramen chain restaurant called "Jukaiya"? It may be familiar to some people as they supply nabeyaki udon to supermarkets, but in terms of ramen shops, they are only located in the Chubu region, Hokuriku, and Kansai, so people living elsewhere may not be familiar with them. This time, I visited "Jukaiya" at the food court of Aeon Kizure-Uraiba store. I have a special feeling towards this Jukaiya. When I was in junior high school, I often filled my stomach here when I visited "SanSan Town" in Amagasaki City. For a poor student, the affordability here was very attractive. About 10 years ago, feeling nostalgic, I visited the SanSan Town store again to eat, but it had closed down and a Jukaiya had opened at "Tsukashin store" instead. Maybe they relocated. By the way, because my update frequency is low, I have accumulated a lot of blog topics, but I decided to skip them and update the Jukaiya I went to yesterday first. The reason is... On the 4th and 5th of March, for two days, they are running a campaign called "Sue-chan Festival" where the above ramen set is half price, a bold campaign to offer it at a discounted price to as many people as possible. So, I decided to update it hastily. Although this Aeon doesn't have many customers, there was still a decent line. The staff was a team of 7 people, and they even hired a security guard, showing their full motivation. Thanks to that, other shops were deserted. After all, they can't compete when they are offering it at half price. Due to this, it took about 30 minutes from ordering to being called. Well, it's much better to wait while sitting on a chair than to be kept waiting until you order. I ordered the special ramen with lots of chashu and onsen egg, which comes with a dessert set. This set includes mixed rice and soft-serve ice cream sundae. The unique smell of Jukaiya's ramen was still present. It's hard to describe, but even though it looks like tonkotsu soup, it has a Japanese taste for some reason. It has a good scent of bonito broth. Although there are many delicious ramen shops now, it cannot compete in terms of taste. But, you know, it's not just about being delicious. I think there are still some people who appreciate this nostalgic taste that has remained unchanged. Well, only middle-aged people like me appreciate such nostalgic taste (laughs). By the way, my wife noticed that the mixed rice was not cooked and made properly, but rather more like mixed rice from a convenience store like Sushitaro. Well, the fried tofu had a delicious sweet and savory flavor, though (laughs). The total cost for two people was 770 yen. This is the price of a lunch for one person, it's too cheap. It must be a loss-making two days. It's until today, so if you have a store nearby, please go. Be prepared for a line. *This year, it has been canceled due to the measures against the domestic spread of the coronavirus. I hope it will be resolved soon so that we can go out to eat without any worries like before.
