"Takumichan" is a Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki restaurant located in Kamikobukucho, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City. It is situated next to a lovely Western-style restaurant called "Bistro Cider," known for its delicious hamburgers. I visited during lunchtime on a weekday and sat at the counter. While they also offer a service lunch set (medium okonomiyaki, rice, miso soup, kimchi, all for 650 yen including tax), I opted for the basic okonomiyaki with meat, egg, and soba noodles for 650 yen, plus an additional 150 yen for double soba noodles. I watched as my okonomiyaki was cooked right in front of me on the teppan grill, which was quite enjoyable. When my order arrived, I dug in. The okonomiyaki had a slightly sweet taste due to the use of Otafuku sauce, and the plentiful cabbage was deliciously sweet. The noodles were cooked perfectly as well. Even though I didn't use them, there were condiments like Otafuku sauce, mayonnaise, and shichimi pepper on the table. Despite looking like a lot, I managed to finish it all. I felt full but also guilt-free as Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki is packed with vegetables. It was my first time having Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki in a while, and it was delicious. The basic okonomiyaki with meat, egg, and soba noodles costs 650 yen including tax, and even with the double noodles, the total came to 800 yen including tax, making it a good value. I will definitely be back to enjoy more of Takumichan's tasty okonomiyaki!"
