I visited Takumi-chan for dinner tonight! I ordered the Okonomiyaki set and two draft beers, which cost 1350 yen! As always, the delicious food and great value never fail to impress me. I had a great time chatting with the man next to me today. I will definitely come back again!

When you come to Fukuoka, you always want to go to Taku-chan's place! Today I ordered okonomiyaki with toppings of squid tempura and a small bottle of Akahoshi beer. The taste and cooking were as great as always, and the garlic powder was a perfect match. The portion size was generous, and the total bill was 1350 yen. It was delicious. I will definitely come back again!

Near Chiyotsukuri in Fukuoka, there is a Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki restaurant. I was drawn to its delicious atmosphere and decided to check it out. It's a great restaurant where people are constantly coming and going. I tried the pig's feet and Takumi-chan Special. The pig's feet cost 380 yen, and I also had two highballs and two oolong teas for a total of 2180 yen! It's so cheap! The Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki was delicious too, so I will definitely be going back!

Visited on Saturday night! There was no line, but the restaurant was almost full! Ordered the Cheese Special with double soba noodles! Toppings included squid, shrimp, tempura squid, meat, egg, cabbage, soba noodles, and plenty of ingredients! Sauce and mayonnaise were on the table! Waited about 15 minutes for the dish to be served! The taste was, well, just okay! Not bad, but the dough was a bit too soggy! Maybe they added too much water while cooking it! I was really hungry, so the portion was quite large, but I finished it all! I'm full now! Thank you for the meal!

The restaurant has a slightly old-fashioned atmosphere and feels like it could be featured on a TV show. It is a compact place with a teppanyaki grill, a counter, and a couple of raised tatami seating areas. It seems to be a family-run establishment, with a friendly grandma providing great service. Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki seems to be a specialty here, which is not commonly found in Fukuoka, as evidenced by the many businessmen visiting. The menu offers individual okonomiyaki dishes with a choice of noodles such as soba or udon. The udon option is highly recommended and quite delicious. They also have a lunch set that includes rice, miso soup, and kimchi, catering to those with a hearty appetite. Overall, the food is tasty, and the customizable toppings like sauce and mayonnaise on the table add a fun touch to the dining experience.

I have always been curious about this place. It's a night time when I walked from Hakata Station and felt hungry. There were quite a few regular customers, and I saw some people getting takeout. The menu includes okonomiyaki, yoshoku, yakisoba, and more, making it hard to decide what to choose. This time, I went with the Cheese Special. The chef skillfully prepared it while watching baseball. His smooth movements caught my attention. His hands were amazing, clearly different from others. The Cheese Special, packed with shrimp and squid, costs 1000 yen including tax. It was delicious. The slightly crispy surface was also nice. At the back of the counter, there is a poster of Reiko Kato, which remains beautifully preserved. It was a nostalgic moment.

It's been a while since I had lunch here. It's still not good. As you can see, they pour water on the food while cooking. They also don't control the temperature of the iron plate, so the bottom gets burnt. The squid tempura topping is made by cooking the tempura separately, pouring water on it, placing it on top of the noodles, and then putting okonomiyaki on top. This is definitely not Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki. Well, that's how it is... I regret going there.

Special soba for 900 yen, with squid, shrimp, squid tempura, double meat, egg, and double soba for an additional 150 yen. I arrived early in the morning, but the restaurant was almost full. It's a popular place, with customers coming in one after another. The food was delicious as always. I ordered the double soba, so I was really full after finishing it. The warm and friendly service from the owner and his wife made me feel really comfortable. It's truly a great restaurant. I would like to come back at night sometime.

I stayed in the Gofukucho area and went to a nearby okonomiyaki restaurant called "Takumi-chan" for dinner. "Takumi-chan" serves Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki. I sat at a table by the teppan grill. I ordered the "Special Soba" with a double serving of soba noodles. The "Special Soba" includes squid, shrimp, fried squid, double meat, egg, and choice of soba or udon noodles. The unique cooking method involves a lot of pressing on the teppan grill. The noodles are cooked directly on the grill without boiling. It takes about 10 minutes to cook and is served on a plate. They use Otafuku sauce for flavor. I topped it with mayonnaise and shichimi togarashi for extra spice. In Hiroshima, it's rare to find the Special okonomiyaki for only 900 yen. Great value for money. The combination of the sweetness of the cabbage and Otafuku sauce pairs well with the spiciness of shichimi togarashi. I also added some curry powder for a different flavor, and it was delicious. I finished it all in one go. It was a satisfying meal. In Fukuoka, this Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki is of good quality.

The Choyan-yaki set at Coco, a okonomiyaki restaurant in Gofukucho, is called "One Sen Western Food." This dish is said to be the original form of okonomiyaki from the Taisho era, where a mixture of water and wheat flour is topped with chopped green onions and a small amount of meat, then grilled. It was called "One Sen Western Food" because it was sold for one sen per piece at that time. Here, it's like calling it "One Thousand (yen) Western Food." It's delicious!!

I visited for the first time in a while. It was bustling. I hesitated, but ordered the classic okonomiyaki. The heat from the iron plate was intense, but eating the hot okonomiyaki at the counter was delicious!! I thoroughly enjoyed the okonomiyaki after a long time. Thank you for the meal!!

Fukuoka City, Hakata-ku, "Takumi-chan". A shop that serves Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki. The basic okonomiyaki (with meat, cabbage, noodles) costs 650 yen. It seems to be average or slightly cheaper. At lunch, they offer a "service lunch" where you get the basic okonomiyaki with white rice, miso soup, and kimchi included in the price. I decided to order that right away. I added squid tempura (100 yen) as a topping, which I always put in when making Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki at home. It was served on a plate. The okonomiyaki is a decent size, but it wasn't cut all the way through, so it fell apart when I tried to pick it up with chopsticks, which was disappointing. The noodles were not fresh but pre-packaged, which was a letdown, but they had a good chewy texture. I was prepared to wait 20 minutes for my order, but it came in about 10 minutes. The okonomiyaki lacked a bit of moisture and unity, maybe due to the quick service. The miso soup and squid tempura were subtly seasoned. It may be something to appreciate, but as someone looking forward to B-class gourmet food, I found it a bit lacking. However, considering the great value of the set, it would be rude to complain further.

Actually... I visited a Western-style restaurant mentioned later, but the dish I wanted was sold out, so I ended up visiting this restaurant next door for the first time. It's a Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki restaurant, but I ordered yakisoba. It was past lunchtime, but there were still a few empty seats. The yakisoba arrived and it looked normal. It was piping hot and delicious with a rich sauce. Thank you for the meal.

The set meal was 650 yen, which includes rice, miso soup, and kimchi. I sat at the counter and watched the cooking scene while waiting. There was a lot of cabbage with plenty of sauce, including Otafuku sauce. There was also mayonnaise, but personally I think it's a bit of a wrong choice, so I just had it with sauce. Again, 650 yen is cheap.

I visited Kuremachi Station for the first time in a while! Here they serve Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki! (I apologize for adding "style" for those from Hiroshima) I prefer Hiroshima-style, but when I make okonomiyaki at home, I can only make Kansai-style, so I can only eat Hiroshima-style at restaurants. I started with a mix of squid and pork trotters, followed by okonomiyaki! It was fluffy and crispy, really delicious! Thank you for the meal!

Located a 2-minute walk from Kurehukucho Station, behind Oshima Eye Clinic, next to Bistro Saida. You can enjoy Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki here. The restaurant has counter and table seating, with a nostalgic Showa-era atmosphere. I dined at the counter since I was dining alone. They offer various customization options, such as extra noodles or toppings, starting from 650 yen for a basic okonomiyaki. During lunchtime, they also have set menu deals. I ordered the basic okonomiyaki with soba noodles, and it was delicious with plenty of cabbage, meat, crispy noodles, and a generous portion. They provide mayonnaise, sauce, and curry powder on the table for you to season to your liking. I left feeling satisfied and was charmed by the grandmother's friendly service. I hope she stays healthy and keeps up the good work. I would like to try the okonomiyaki with udon noodles next time. They also offer takeout. Thank you for the meal.

"Takumichan" is a Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki restaurant located in Kamikobukucho, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City. It is situated next to a lovely Western-style restaurant called "Bistro Cider," known for its delicious hamburgers. I visited during lunchtime on a weekday and sat at the counter. While they also offer a service lunch set (medium okonomiyaki, rice, miso soup, kimchi, all for 650 yen including tax), I opted for the basic okonomiyaki with meat, egg, and soba noodles for 650 yen, plus an additional 150 yen for double soba noodles. I watched as my okonomiyaki was cooked right in front of me on the teppan grill, which was quite enjoyable. When my order arrived, I dug in. The okonomiyaki had a slightly sweet taste due to the use of Otafuku sauce, and the plentiful cabbage was deliciously sweet. The noodles were cooked perfectly as well. Even though I didn't use them, there were condiments like Otafuku sauce, mayonnaise, and shichimi pepper on the table. Despite looking like a lot, I managed to finish it all. I felt full but also guilt-free as Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki is packed with vegetables. It was my first time having Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki in a while, and it was delicious. The basic okonomiyaki with meat, egg, and soba noodles costs 650 yen including tax, and even with the double noodles, the total came to 800 yen including tax, making it a good value. I will definitely be back to enjoy more of Takumichan's tasty okonomiyaki!"

I received a lunch for 650 yen. After ordering, I realized I didn't need rice. A regular customer shared the secret of ordering a soba double without rice. I learned the secret this time, so I won't make the same mistake again. The Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki was delicious with crispy noodles and a fragrant taste. The evening menu with teppanyaki sounds delicious, so I would like to visit for dinner as well.

I'm doing my best to get through the corona situation! Of course, they also offer takeout as before! The ventilation fan is running at full power, so I dined in for the first time in years! I casually looked around the restaurant and saw a poster of Asahi beer's campaign girl! It seemed new! Then the owner said it's Ms. Reiko Kato! I was surprised. She is now 51 years old and still a beautiful woman, but it's amazing that the poster from about 30 years ago is almost brand new! She got it on Mercari. As expected, I love the pork okonomiyaki, so I ordered the basic pork okonomiyaki with soba noodles and rice and miso soup that comes with lunch! Rice and miso soup are only available at night if they have them! Having white rice with okonomiyaki is like a palate cleanser and it's important! Please don't point out that it's carbs + carbs (laughs). The kimchi with a little acidity adds flavor and is helpful! I understand the feeling of casually drinking beer at lunch like an old man. The chef trained at Micchan in Hiroshima and now offers reasonably priced Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki in Fukuoka, making this a valuable restaurant! It's located right near Gofukumachi Station and Gofukumachi Bus Stop, behind Oshima Eye Clinic! It's a great restaurant, so please support them!

I visited for lunch on a weekday and the place was bustling with office workers. The restaurant is small, so it fills up quickly. I had the weekday special lunch for 650 yen, which included Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, rice, kimchi, and miso soup. It was delicious and definitely worth more than the price. I was very satisfied with the taste. Thank you for the meal. #Fukuoka lunch #Hakata okonomiyaki #Fukuoka okonomiyaki #Takumichan
