ゆいかーん
We decided to have dinner at Sapporo Seafoods Gojusannen Sushi today after consulting with our usual food buddies. It's a standing sushi restaurant located on the second floor of New Chitose Airport Terminal Building, in the souvenir section of Sapporo Seafoods. You can order using a touch panel, which is quite convenient!

As I looked around contemplating what to eat, I suddenly discovered something. It was the recommended menu by the chef! And guess what, it was the rare Botan Ebi! Known as the most difficult shrimp to obtain in Japan, it's considered a luxury item! I hesitantly checked the price, and it was expensive! Very expensive! One piece was 3200 yen... 3200 yen!! It was almost the price of a seafood bowl... I hesitated. I hesitated a lot, but this was a rare opportunity! So, I decided to splurge. Yes, boldly! Let's dig in!
In terms of taste, it's similar to Mantis Shrimp, right? The texture is firm and chewy, with a sticky feel. It's like a concentrated umami ball! The intense sweetness felt in the mouth is incredibly delicious!
I might be satisfied with just this, but my stomach is far from satisfied. So, I continued eating! The Mantis Shrimp with Wasabi had a nice kick from the Wasabi used as an accent. The soft Mantis Shrimp that becomes sweeter as you chew, paired with the flavor of Wasabi, was a perfect match!
I tried the Botan Uni without additives in a gunkan style! It's very rich and flavorful! The sweet and creamy Uni, combined with fragrant seaweed, creates a feeling of happiness!
Next, the Chu Toro, as soon as you put it in your mouth, the deliciousness overflows! You can clearly taste the strong umami and the sweetness of the fat, without being too heavy. The perfect balance of fat and tender meat is incredibly delicious!
The unique flavor and sweetness of Hoke and Hokki were also delicious, and that concluded our meal for today! The Shari for the nigiri was a bit firm. The small size of each piece makes you want to eat more and more (laughs). They provide three types of soy sauce, which they use according to the topping, which is nice!
Of course, all the toppings were fresh, and there was no hint of any fishy smell. Despite the slightly higher prices, the quality was more than enough to justify it, so there's nothing to complain about! The Botan Ebi was delicious (*´艸`*)
