Located right in the middle of Kabukicho, near Aimoto Honten. We visited around 2 AM with a group of 6 people. Luckily, there were two empty 4-person tables available, so we were able to sit down quickly. We ordered the Yakuza-style Mala Tang for 900 yen, with up to 3 toppings for free. Each additional topping costs 150 yen, and we chose cabbage, bamboo shoots, and pork. The selling point is being able to choose the soup and glass noodles for a low-calorie option. It was a satisfying meal. As of August 2023, the restaurant has a rating of 3.07 on Tabelog.

It's a restaurant where you can choose your own toppings for the cellophane noodles. There are many topping options, so you can choose flavors you like. The cellophane noodles were delicious as well. I chose the spicy soup, which paired perfectly with the cellophane noodles and was delicious.

Recently, there has been an increase in the number of spicy hot pot restaurants, and I found out that there is one in Kabukicho, so I decided to go there right away. Compared to other spicy hot pot restaurants, the spiciness is mild and the flavor is not as traditional, but a bit different. As the name "Yakuzen" suggests, I thought there might be Chinese herbal medicine seasoning in it, but it turns out that Chinese herbal medicine spices are actually a topping menu, so I just thought it was an original flavor. While it lacks a bit of punch, if you're tired of traditional flavors, it might be good to try something different once in a while. On the other hand, the owner-like person who seemed to be giving instructions to the staff was smoking inside the restaurant. It seems like the restaurant allows smoking, which was a bit disappointing. Thank you for the meal.

I chose my own ingredients from the shelf and had them cooked for me, which is a Chinese style, but the interior of the restaurant is like a ramen shop. It has a Japanese-style, izakaya feel. The tables are sticky. The staff are unfriendly. The thick vermicelli noodles were chewy and delicious. The soup didn't taste or smell like Chinese herbal medicine at all. There weren't any particularly unique ingredients. Most of all, the smell inside the restaurant was unpleasant, making my nose feel weird. It was like the rotten smell from a tonkotsu ramen shop. Maybe it used to be a ramen shop after all?

First time at this restaurant. I was torn between toppings to choose from, but this time I went with the stamina recovery menu: pork, clams, komatsuna (Japanese mustard spinach), and nori seaweed. I wasn't sure about the spiciness level, so I went with level 2. The soup is delicious. It has a light yet rich flavor, almost like soy sauce. You could say it's "medicinal" and good for the body. The noodles were supposed to be a choice between Chinese noodles and harusame (bean starch noodles), but I went with harusame. It's only one-third of the calories of regular ramen, so I didn't feel guilty at all. I wish I had added more toppings. I think I could have handled more spiciness too. The location is right in the heart of Kabukicho. I wonder what I should do with all this stamina.

Located in the back streets of Kabukicho, around the area behind Shinjuku Batting Center, this restaurant offers a medicinal soup with thick vermicelli noodles called Ma La Tang for 840 yen. You can choose up to 3 toppings of your choice, and additional toppings can be added for 130 yen each after the fourth item. The toppings are individually packaged in small bags on a refrigerated shelf, and you can select as many as you like before handing them to the staff in a bowl. The toppings range from vegetables and mushrooms to meat and seafood, with dozens of options available. I chose chicken, squid balls, spinach, watercress, and cilantro as my toppings. You can select the level of spiciness from 10 options, and I chose the fifth level, which is "very spicy." The Ma La Tang is served in a Chinese-style bowl with a burnt brown medicinal soup topped with chili oil. The unique aroma of the medicinal soup is delicious, and the thick vermicelli noodles have a satisfying chewiness. The addition of fragrant vegetables like watercress and cilantro was a great choice, complementing the soup perfectly. In total, I paid 1100 yen for the Ma La Tang, plus two additional toppings, which was well worth it.

A gathering place for residents of Kabukicho, where you'll find many cabaret girls and hosts. It's a feast for the eyes. You choose your ingredients and take them to the counter. You can also choose the level of spiciness. There's a wide variety of ingredients so you won't get bored, and you can customize it to your liking. Recently, ramen shops have started offering more female-friendly options like konjac noodles, but the noodles here have a firm texture and are delicious. There's always a sense of guilt when having late-night ramen, but I feel okay about it here. The clientele is mostly female customers.

The soup at this Ma La Tang restaurant is slightly less spicy than others, which is not to my liking.

I chose my own ingredients and took them to the counter to have them cooked. Up to 3 ingredients cost 750 yen, with additional charges for more than that. It was my first time using this system, so I was a little confused at first, but since it was not busy, I took my time to choose komatsuna, enoki mushrooms, and spicy ground meat. I selected the most standard soup with a medium level of spiciness. The soup had a nice aroma, a clear and light taste with a hint of healthy spices. The noodles were thick glass noodles that were chewy and transparent. The ingredients I chose went well together. The portion size was small, so it might not be filling for hungry people or men. As a woman who cares about health and beauty, I found this menu to be very beneficial with its low calories, high nutrition, and medicinal spices. The restaurant was clean and neat, suitable for dining alone or with a small group of people. It seemed like the staff might have trouble handling a large group, so I recommend a maximum of 4 people. I definitely want to visit this restaurant again!

The shop is located in the batting center block of Kabukicho 2-chome. This time, I used delivery service. I ordered the spicy old man's choice, changing the pork hot pot to extreme spicy soup level 10 for an additional 300 yen, and adding extra glass noodles for 210 yen. I used a coupon to deduct the total amount. The food arrived in a heat pack. After reheating it in a pot and adding some vegetables, I enjoyed a very satisfying and extremely spicy hot pot. It was delicious.

The spring rain ramen is thick, with a taste similar to tanmen, lots of oil, and a strong flavor.
