I went to lunch with my friends after a long time. We went to a seafood izakaya popular for blowfish dishes. The place is located in Uomachi Hikariterasu in Uomachi 3-chome, diagonally across from Uomachi Gintengai. The first floor has counter seats and table seats, while the second floor has sunken kotatsu-style private rooms and a hall. The lunch menu consists mainly of set meals, with 15 varieties. I ordered the Blowfish Set Meal, while my friends ordered the Bamboo Set Meal and the Tempura Set Meal. The Blowfish Set Meal for 3080 yen includes blowfish sashimi, small blowfish tempura, blowfish hot pot, rice, miso soup, small dish, pickles, chawanmushi, and salad. In Kitakyushu and Shimonoseki, they refer to blowfish as "fuku" instead of the negative connotation "fugu," symbolizing good luck. The small dish of sweet dried radish, well-balanced chawanmushi, and surprisingly delicious salad were all delightful. The Blowfish Set Meal was a great value, offering plenty of tiger blowfish to enjoy. The Bamboo Set Meal for 2200 yen includes sashimi, braised pork, tempura, rice, miso soup, small dish, pickles, chawanmushi, and salad. It is a set meal centered around the sashimi and tempura named after the restaurant. The Tempura Set Meal for 1200 yen includes tempura, sashimi, rice, miso soup, small dish, pickles, chawanmushi, and salad. It is a budget-friendly set meal with three types of sashimi and tempura. The selectable set meals range from 1000 yen to 3080 yen, offering a variety of options. They also offer blowfish courses for 5500 yen, 6800 yen, 8800 yen, and 12000 yen.
