I went to lunch with my friends after a long time. We went to a seafood izakaya popular for blowfish dishes. The place is located in Uomachi Hikariterasu in Uomachi 3-chome, diagonally across from Uomachi Gintengai. The first floor has counter seats and table seats, while the second floor has sunken kotatsu-style private rooms and a hall. The lunch menu consists mainly of set meals, with 15 varieties. I ordered the Blowfish Set Meal, while my friends ordered the Bamboo Set Meal and the Tempura Set Meal. The Blowfish Set Meal for 3080 yen includes blowfish sashimi, small blowfish tempura, blowfish hot pot, rice, miso soup, small dish, pickles, chawanmushi, and salad. In Kitakyushu and Shimonoseki, they refer to blowfish as "fuku" instead of the negative connotation "fugu," symbolizing good luck. The small dish of sweet dried radish, well-balanced chawanmushi, and surprisingly delicious salad were all delightful. The Blowfish Set Meal was a great value, offering plenty of tiger blowfish to enjoy. The Bamboo Set Meal for 2200 yen includes sashimi, braised pork, tempura, rice, miso soup, small dish, pickles, chawanmushi, and salad. It is a set meal centered around the sashimi and tempura named after the restaurant. The Tempura Set Meal for 1200 yen includes tempura, sashimi, rice, miso soup, small dish, pickles, chawanmushi, and salad. It is a budget-friendly set meal with three types of sashimi and tempura. The selectable set meals range from 1000 yen to 3080 yen, offering a variety of options. They also offer blowfish courses for 5500 yen, 6800 yen, 8800 yen, and 12000 yen.

This time, we were having trouble finding a place for a drinking party around Kokura Station, so we asked various people, but in the end, we decided on this place after looking at the reviews on Tabelog. The service was great from the reservation stage, and when we actually went to the restaurant, it was also very clean. We had the all-you-can-drink course starting from 12:00 (2 hours), and even when the time was up, they let us chat for a while longer. It was a really nice place and our group was very happy. The dishes were light fugu cuisine, which was well received even by the older members, and thanks to that, we had a great drinking party. We will definitely use this place again when drinking around Kokura Station.

If you just want to eat fugu and leave, it's okay. But everything else was terrible. First of all, the staff in the hall had zero motivation. Despite the empty restaurant, they crowded customers close together. I was in a private room, but the neighboring room was having a noisy party (I could tell it was the local board of education) so I told the staff. A few minutes later, a young female part-time worker said, "I told the neighbors but it didn't work, sorry." Even though there were empty seats in the restaurant, they didn't think about moving us to another table. Despite the high bill, the staff was terrible, it was too noisy to have a conversation, and the drinks took forever to arrive. Everything was unpleasant. I will never go back, and I think a restaurant like this would go out of business quickly in Tokyo. The thing I thought the most was that I felt the most sorry for the qualified chefs in the kitchen who were seriously preparing the fugu.

I missed lunch and suddenly got hungry at 2 pm, so I rushed into the restaurant! The shop seemed like it was about to close, but I confidently ordered the "Shokado Bento". The taste was delicious and the price was a bit high, making it perfect for a luxurious lunch twice a month!

I was able to enjoy fugu at a reasonable price. I made a reservation and was guided to a private room with a nice atmosphere. The fugu sashimi, small fugu tempura, sesame tofu, chawanmushi, and fugu hot pot course were all satisfying. They also have a wide variety of sake. This time, I had the fin sake, which was incredibly delicious! It was really great to be able to enjoy fugu at a reasonable price with such a fulfilling menu!

The atmosphere of the restaurant was okay, but the quality of the shirako ponzu was really bad. It had a strong fishy smell and wasn't very tasty, even though it cost 3,000 yen. I had to leave it uneaten. Was it a freshness issue? I'm not sure. The fugu sashimi and sashimi platter were decent and enjoyable though.

I made a lunch reservation online. In the course menu starting from the Shirako Three Kinds Course, all the blowfish are fugu. When the blowfish is good, the course here is recommended, which includes fried blowfish. Shirako is also included in the course. The fried blowfish and grilled shirako are delicious when hot, but you need to be careful. After finishing the hot pot, you prepare your own porridge. Adjust the taste with salt and add ponzu sauce for a light flavor. For lunch, courses are served in private rooms on the second floor. There are various courses available, starting from affordable options, making it convenient. Thank you for the meal.

When you come to Kokura in winter, you have to try fugu! I made a reservation for Takematsu through the Tabelog online reservation system and visited with 5 friends and family. It's the season for delicious fugu shirako, so we went for the Fugu Shirako course! They have a great selection of alcohol like shirako sake and hire sake. The appetizers, shirako chawanmushi, fugu tempura, shirako sashimi, grilled shirako, tessa, tecchiri, and the finishing zosui were all delicious. It's great value for everyone to enjoy fugu together in a lively atmosphere. Kokura is really reasonable! We had a private room so we could relax without worrying about others. The staff were very polite and the service was great. It was my first time trying shirako sake and it was creamy and delicious. After eating to our hearts' content, we all went to karaoke together!

A seafood izakaya specializing in blowfish dishes located in a shopping street. The atmosphere is calm and the restaurant is easy to visit even for solo diners. Children are also allowed. I ordered the seafood bowl for 1300 yen this time. It comes with chawanmushi and miso soup. The sashimi is fairly fresh. The taste is decently good. The rice portion is a bit small. I feel like in small izakayas in Kokura, even if you just randomly walk in, the sashimi is often delicious. There were few customers even during lunchtime, so I was able to relax in a quiet environment.

As winter approaches, it's the season for hot pot. The city is decorated with Christmas colors and illuminations. When it comes to this time of year in Kitakyushu, it's all about fugu (blowfish). I found a course that includes fugu milt (white roe), so I decided to visit right away. The all-you-can-drink fugu fin sake was a wallet-friendly bonus. The sashimi and fugu milt ponzu that appeared first had a rich flavor and a nice texture, perfect for enjoying with drinks. Throughout the meal, I got to savor the fugu milt in various ways, making our first year-end party of the year a luxurious experience. Be sure to try the grilled fugu milt and fugu milt ponzu.

We ordered a course with all-you-can-drink option, and the food was delicious with a wide variety of dishes. We couldn't finish everything at the end. We went to pick up my son who was returning home at Kitakyushu Airport, and then went to a family dinner at a restaurant where my son had made a reservation for fugu (blowfish) cuisine. It's a Japanese restaurant. We had a set meal of nigiri sushi.

On a weekend night when I wasn't very hungry, I found a quiet place where I could have a light drink. I didn't make a reservation, but luckily there was a table available so I could get in. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was calm, with tables on the first floor and a counter as well. They had a special deal for a "fugu full course" for 4500 yen, so I went for that. I also added a drink all-you-can option. The dishes served were lightly seasoned, and the fugu sashimi was thick and sweet, very delicious! Even though I wasn't very hungry, the food was so tasty that my appetite kept growing. The course dishes were served slowly, with dishes like chawanmushi and fried chicken being freshly fried and piping hot, incredibly delicious. They also had hot pot dishes, and I was able to enjoy a light meal, drinks, and even a rice porridge at the end, so I was satisfied. The fugu fin sake was not included in the drink all-you-can option, so I ordered it separately. The grilled fugu fin had a fragrant flavor and paired well with the sake.

Mixed Fry Set 1100 yen Oyster Fry Set 1100 yen I was walking in a straight line in the arcade with no particular destination in mind when I suddenly noticed this restaurant. My instinct, or rather my impulse, kicked in and I changed my course at a right angle to enter the store. I ordered the Oyster Fry Set and the Mixed Fry Set. The Oyster Fry Set came with 5 decent-sized oysters. When I bit into them, the hot juice burst in my mouth, almost burning me. While there was no strong sea flavor, the oysters were delicious. The crispy coating provided a satisfying crunch, and the oysters remained hot until the very last one. The Mixed Fry Set was also delicious, with the shrimp fry being the standout. The only downside was the tartar sauce, which tasted like a store-bought version with a strong mayonnaise flavor. I wish they used a better quality tartar sauce. The rice was also delicious. PayPay is accepted at this restaurant.

I visited for lunch. The 5500 yen course at night is available for 4500 yen during lunch. They also offer all-you-can-drink, with the highlight being the fugu fin sake. I ended up drinking five cups of the 750 yen fugu fin sake (laughs). The fugu sashimi, tempura, and shirako chawanmushi were all delicious. Fugu is high in protein, but the taste varies greatly depending on the cooking method. It was a luxurious lunch experience.

We decided to visit a fugu restaurant after finishing the merchandise line at a live event in the cold. There wasn't anything particularly new on the menu, but the fugu dishes were cooked just right. I've had fugu milt before, but fugu sake was a first for me.

I found this restaurant at a GoTo Eat eligible store and chose it without hesitation. Since I was in Kitakyushu, I decided to treat myself to a luxurious lunch with the "Fugu set meal" which was full of delicacies like Tessa, Tecchiri, and Karaage. It was truly a meal that brings good fortune! It was very delicious.

During the state of emergency, dinner time is closed, so I used it for lunch. It was a big hit. It might be the best fried food I've had this year. The blowfish sashimi and hot pot were consistently delicious. The porridge at the end allows you to enjoy the flavor of blowfish. The dessert with mochi was different from regular stores, which was nice. However, it seems that there is a kaiseki for lunch, and you can get a similar menu, so I might order the kaiseki next time.

Today's lunch was all about meat, meat, meat♪ We were walking through the Tanukikoji Market towards Heiwa Street when suddenly my partner stopped and said, "This place looks good!" It turned out to be a place called "Takenaka"! They offer a variety of dishes such as tempura, soba, and sushi. We decided to go in and the atmosphere inside was very calming. We toasted with non-alcoholic drinks and my partner ordered the tempura soba set while I opted for the tempura and sushi set. The soba noodles were firm and delicious, and the vegetable salad was amazing. The tempura was also very tasty, with even the shrimp tails being edible. However, the sushi was a bit disappointing as there were often fibers left in the fish that interfered with the texture. The chawanmushi (steamed egg custard) was delicately flavored and silky smooth. Overall, the set was visually appealing and had a wide variety of items. It was a delicious meal.

I decided to try some Japanese food for a change and headed to Take-naka in Uomachi Gintengai. The first floor has a counter and table seating, while the second floor has private sunken kotatsu seating. Lunch prices start at 1000 yen, with seasonal menu options available. The "aradaki gozen" set includes fish head soup, sashimi, side dishes (dried radish, salad, miso soup, chawanmushi, pickles). The fish head soup used sea bream, but it was overcooked and lacked texture. The sashimi included sea bream and salmon. The sukiyaki gozen came with the same side dishes as the aradaki gozen. The sukiyaki was heated using solid fuel, but the heat was too low and the food didn't cook properly. I had to ask the staff to reheat it in the kitchen. The cold tempura and sushi set included tempura and three pieces of sushi. To be honest, overall it was a disappointment. Thank you for the meal.

In Kitakyushu, there is a restaurant called "Shun Uo to Shun Sai Takenaka" located in the shopping street "Uomachi Gin-Tengai" near Kokura Castle. I stayed overnight in preparation for my business trip starting tomorrow... or rather, I decided to arrive early to enjoy Kitakyushu to the fullest. I have been to Fukuoka city several times, but this is my first time in Kitakyushu. I searched for a restaurant that is eligible for GoTo Eat and chose this one without hesitation. Since I am in Kitakyushu, I decided to treat myself to a luxurious lunch. I had the "Fugu Gozen" which was filled with fugu sashimi, hot pot, and fried fugu, among other things. It was a lunch that literally brings good fortune! It was very delicious. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

The banquet was held at Take-naka, where the organizer chose the "Fugu Full Course" menu. Since Shimonoseki is nearby, Fugu may be relatively affordable there. The "Fugu Full Course" included small dishes, tiger puffer sashimi, tiger puffer shirako chawanmushi, small puffer tempura, tiger puffer hot pot, zosui (rice porridge), pickles, and dessert, totaling 7 dishes. Personally, I didn't feel that the value of Fugu matched the price, but it had been over ten years since I last had Fugu, and I found it to be simply delicious.
