I visited this place for the first time. It was a social gathering for an external organization. Even though there were salarymen present, the event started at 5:30, which seemed odd to me. I left work a bit early to attend. It was my first time, but everyone around me seemed familiar with this well-known place. It is located near the Tenjin Kita bus stop. Upon entering, it didn't feel like a cheap izakaya, but it also didn't have a high-end vibe. It felt like a slightly upscale old-fashioned izakaya or a budget-friendly ryotei. I wasn't expecting much from the course menu, but the sesame mackerel sauce was a bit too sweet for my taste. We also had steamed pork wrapped in foil, but the pork slices were thin and mostly consisted of cabbage, which was disappointing for a main dish. The course menu was priced at 5000 yen, which is relatively cheap for this place. It's a good venue for large groups, but I probably wouldn't come here specifically for the food. Well, it's in Tenjin, so I guess that's to be expected. Thank you for the meal.

I had a set meal with sashimi, tofu, miso soup, tempura, etc. It was very delicious. The price is a bit high, but considering the taste and the atmosphere of the restaurant, I think it's a fair price. The restaurant has a calm atmosphere and the food is delicious. The staff's service is very good, making it a comfortable place to dine.

Across from Tenjin Mina, there is a place called Fuyou with barrel seats, where we forgot to take a photo of the sofa inside the barrel, so here is a photo from the brochure. For lunch, they offer daily specials and several set meals. We ordered the Fuyou set meal for 1,600 yen. It arrived promptly. The meal included tempura, sashimi, soba noodles, chilled tofu, chawanmushi, mozuku seaweed, and warabi mochi, among other dishes. The sashimi was delicious. In the slightly dim setting inside the barrel, we enjoyed a variety of dishes in a calm atmosphere.

On this day, I went to lunch with my colleagues at a place I wanted to try. The restaurant was established in 1970 in the center of Tenjin, and it features a famous "barrel seating area" made from sake brewery barrels. The 2nd floor has private rooms for celebrations, parties, and other events, with space for up to 100 people. They use ingredients directly sourced from Itoshima for their dishes. We arrived around 1:20 pm and were seated at the barrel seating area on the 1st floor. The restaurant has counter seats, table seats, and wall-facing table seats to ensure even solo diners feel comfortable. The dim lighting inside the barrel seating area created a mystical atmosphere. The lunch menu ranges from under 1000 yen to around 3000 yen. My friend ordered the sesame-dressed rice bowl, while I opted for the daily special set meal (910 yen) which included tempura... I hesitated between that and the seafood option. We had a coupon for a complimentary drink, so my friend chose coffee and I had a small draft beer (medium not available). The conversation flowed, and the beer was delicious, so I ordered a second one (around 485 yen). The sesame-dressed rice bowl was amusingly lacking in volume. The daily special meal was served on a single tray, with salad, pork loin shabu-shabu, chawanmushi, miso soup, and the main dish, tempura with one shrimp and various other vegetables. The meal was accompanied by coffee, all for under 1000 yen, making it a great value. This kind of meal is practical for everyday dining.

I finished my plans in Tenjin Kit and it was time for lunch. I had heard about this restaurant before but had never been there, so I decided to give it a try. The interior of the restaurant had a counter, barrel seating, tables, and even a second floor. Even though I was dining alone, I chose to sit at a barrel seat. I ordered the "Fuyou Gozen" set meal. They brought out some cold tofu and mozuku seaweed first. The texture of the mozuku seaweed was really nice, and I enjoyed the vinegar flavor. The set meal arrived soon after. The tempura was crispy, but I found the chawanmushi (savory egg custard) a bit too thin for my liking. The Fuyou Gozen set meal had just the right amount of food, and I also had a beer to go with it. I left feeling satisfied and full. I would like to try a higher-tier set meal next time and also visit for dinner. Thank you for the meal.

An izakaya near Tenjin Station within walking distance. The barrel seats act as semi-private spaces, which is interesting. The main dishes are seafood, but they also offer meat dishes. The prices are set high for all dishes, so it may not be easy to use casually.

Near Tenjin, I wanted to have some light seafood snacks, so I decided to drop in without a reservation. I ordered live squid, sashimi, sesame mackerel, and asked for tempura as well. They also have sushi, catering to various needs! You can enjoy various specialties of Kyushu here.

30 years ago, during my days as a student studying for entrance exams, I used to frequent a nearby pachinko parlor. On days when I was winning, I would treat myself to a fancy lunch at this establishment. Today, feeling nostalgic, I decided to visit and ordered the daily lunch special. The interior of the store hasn't changed much since those days. However, there were fewer customers, and I noticed that a single woman was managing the whole place, looking quite overwhelmed. The meal, including the mapo tofu, was delicious without being too spicy.

The transparent squid and whale from Genkai Sea, along with tempura made from vegetables from Itoshima, were all high-quality dishes! It was the best meal I had during my frequent business trips to Hakata. The sake was also delicious. I will definitely come back again! Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I walked in search of lunch and arrived at the north side of the Tenjin Futatabi Building. There was an information board that read "Today's daily special 'Goto pork tonkatsu' 900 yen, tax included". If it had just said "Tonkatsu set meal", I would have probably ignored it. This time, I visited the restaurant "Tenjin Fuyo". It is known as one of the famous restaurants in the Tenjin area. The time of visit was 11:50. Upon entering the restaurant and informing them that I was dining alone, I was seated at the counter. There are also table seats, but they are only for women dining alone. There should be a semi-private room called "Taruzashiki" on the same floor, but I did not confirm it. The counter seats, separated by partitions due to the influence of the new corona, are a total of four. It's a slightly spacious dining area, which is a relief. The order was, of course, the daily special set meal. The service time was a bit early. The set meal served was a typical "tonkatsu set meal". Although it was specifically mentioned as "Goto pork" on the information board, the quality of the meat and the thickness of the tonkatsu were moderate. It's so average that it's the most difficult type to write a comment on. After finishing the tonkatsu, coffee is also included, which again, has a very average taste. All of this for 900 yen (tax included). Well, it's just average. It's a lunch that matches the price level, so I would rate it 3 stars. When it comes to tonkatsu, in terms of price, you have strong rival restaurants nearby like "Hamakatsu", and in terms of taste, "Wakaba" which both offer weekday lunch menus, so I feel like dining at either of those would have been more satisfying. The specialty of this restaurant is supposed to be seafood dishes. Instead of getting caught up on the word "Goto", it might have been better to try a dish that the restaurant is good at. Thank you for the meal.

The izakaya lunch at Tenjin. We were seated at a table that looked like a half-cut barrel, which was inconvenient for someone with a large body. The table was also cramped, trying to fit up to 6 people. Just that made me feel annoyed. The lunch was okay, nothing special.

I think it's a luxury to be able to eat at a restaurant in the heart of Tenjin for only 860 yen including tax.

I dropped by casually the other day. The interior of the restaurant had a calm atmosphere and the private tables were impressive, making it stand out from others. The food was also reasonably priced and all delicious, so I was very satisfied! The value for money was decent as well.

I ordered an eel tasting set, but it was much smaller than the sample photo, and I was very disappointed.

The atmosphere is also interesting. The staff is friendly. Overall, the atmosphere is really nice. We had squid, motsu-nabe, etc. It cost 14,000 yen for two people, so it's not cheap, but it can be used for entertaining guests. They also provide transparent partitions.

I visited this restaurant based on a recommendation from a friend. I was impressed by the thick slices of sashimi, thicker than those in Tokyo. The other appetizers were also delicious, and before I knew it, I had spent over 2 hours there. I definitely want to visit this place again next time I go to Fukuoka.
