I decided to stop by Shatoreze as I passed by. It was Mother's Day, so the parking lot was full. There was also a restriction on the number of people allowed inside - only one group at a time. I tried their shortcake and chocolate banana cake, which I think is the best combination. They were delicious. The melon-shaped cake was quite sweet. Thank you for the meal.

This time, I visited Shatoreze Minami-ku Hikihara store located at 2-45-9 Hikihara, Minami-ku, Fukuoka City. I tried the Sugar Scone, Pie Chocolate Sesame, and Biscuit Waffle. They go really well with coffee. I heard they have sold 500 million Double Chou Creams, but I'll have to try that next time. Oh, and don't forget the roll cake! Thank you for the delicious meal.

Just a little north of Higashi-Hashimoto intersection, you'll find Bikkuri Donkey and Gratier (a bakery). I went there to buy a small souvenir. The parking lot is spacious and the store is big. They have cakes, long-lasting baked goods, Japanese sweets, a wide variety of ice cream, bread, and even wine. I bought some cookies as souvenirs, and for myself, I got a mango pudding for 108 yen (20% off as it was a clearance item), a wheat-free, additive-free baked donut for 162 yen, and an eclair for 108 yen. It's nice that they have products that are additive-free and don't use wheat flour. The taste was delicious. The mango pudding had mango on top. The prices are reasonable, the selection is wide, and I would like to visit again. Next time, I might try the ice cream. They also have a point card. Thank you for the meal.

I also tried the wine sold by weight that I was curious about. Hmm, I'm not sure about this one. The bread was a bit dry. The ice cream, both the rum raisin and matcha flavors, were quite refreshing but not really to my liking. Too bad.

October 2015, on this day my husband bought me a cute pumpkin "ghost cake" and a "Mont Blanc with Japanese chestnut" for Halloween! It's almost too cute to eat~ The pumpkin flavor was a bit subtle with lots of cream, and the Mont Blanc with Japanese chestnut had a strong chestnut taste and was delicious. Thank you for the meal♪

Since opening in August 2015, I hadn't visited for a while, but recently I've been going there quite often. "Chateraise" surprisingly has some delicious items. Plus, the prices are very wallet-friendly. The "Soft Thick Roll" was better than the "Summer Trifle" and the "Tokachi Red Bean Milk Manju" was like a creamy vanilla ice cream with plenty of red beans. It was also delicious!
**************************
If I see a lively place on the way, I just have to make a detour. Today's shopping included "Caramel Apple Bar" and bread, as well as "Salted Bean Daifuku" with 6 pieces for 315 yen. It's like the price of one Häagen-Dazs ice cream! The caramel apple ice cream with chocolate coating is a favorite combination. The salted bean Daifuku is best enjoyed with warm tea. Can't beat "Komaya" though.

In January 2011, Chateraise opened in Hikara. It seems I happened to pass by on the opening day. I received the "Umitate Egg Choux Cream" and the "Double Cream Choux Cream" as a gift for the opening. It reminds me of the choux cream I had as a child. I preferred the "Double" one. For a nighttime snack, I had the "Strawberry Shortcake" and "Cheesecake." The strawberry shortcake was only 273 yen and the cakes at this bakery are quite affordable. The taste is not bad for the price, making it perfect for kids' snacks. They also have Japanese sweets, baked goods, ice cream, frozen pizza, and more (bought pizza).+++++++++++++++++++++++

This time it's Japanese sweets like chestnut ohagi and pumpkin manju, filled with autumn flavors! So delicious! And then, craving for some Western sweets... This time it's Chateraise! I found these adorable sablé cookies called "Forest Friends"! They come in strawberry, cocoa, plain, and leaf pie flavors. Gotta try them all! Strawberry flavor is my favorite, I think. It has a delicate strawberry taste that melts in your mouth! Since they're sablé cookies, they're a bit hard... Might be too tough for elderly people with weak teeth. There were many other Western sweets available, so I definitely want to come back again.

Since the opening, this is a shop I occasionally visit. It's close to my house, so it's convenient for picking up ice cream, yogurt cups, and small souvenirs. This time, I was lured by the beautiful photo on the flyer that was included. I was aiming for the Pure Melt Chocolat for 108 yen, but I couldn't find it in the display case with cakes and such. When I asked the staff, they directed me to the self-serve refrigerated shelf where there were plenty in stock. I bought individually wrapped chocolate cream puffs for 108 yen each, as well as double cream puffs for 108 yen, ice cream for 250 yen (6 pieces), and chestnut sweet bean paste mochi for 416 yen (4 pieces). Dry ice is available for purchase but I didn't get any, so I hurried back home. The Pure Melt Chocolat cream puffs were delicious with a strong chocolate flavor for the price of 108 yen. While eating, I looked at the flyer photo again and was impressed by how well it was taken, making the food look so appetizing. The chestnut sweet bean paste mochi was small, with a large mochi inside and a thin outer layer of sweet bean paste. It had a hint of dashi flavor. Overall, it's a convenient shop nearby with good service. Since they introduced the current point card system, you can now use points starting from just 1 point, which is a nice feature as there's no need to accumulate points.

[2014.07 Souvenir] I received strawberry shortcake and fluffy thick-cut roll cake as souvenirs. Strawberry Shortcake: A delicious cake, quite large for a Shatoriz cake but fairly normal in size. Fluffy Thick-cut Roll Cake: As the name suggests, it is quite thick-cut and the sponge is fluffy yet firm. The whipped cream is not overly sweet, just the right amount of sweetness for its large size. I was satisfied with the cakes after a long time. Thank you for the meal! [2013.09 and 2014.02 Souvenir] I sometimes try new cakes, but I always find that the classic, traditional cakes are the most delicious. [2013.02 and 2013.04 Visit] I bought Amaou cut roll cake and a cake with lots of fruit and whipped cream. Both cakes were large and satisfying. Thank you for the delicious treats! [2012.10 and 2012.12 Visit] I purchased Mont Blanc, Fruit Pudding a la mode, and two limited edition cakes. The Fruit Pudding a la mode is recommended, with a substantial amount of cream. Shatoriz often introduces new seasonal cakes, making it enjoyable. Thank you for the delicious treats! [2012.06 Return Visit] I bought Mont Blanc, half-size strawberry shortcake, and Healthy Baked Cheesecake. Despite being half-sized, they were delicious. The strawberry shortcake was rich in cream and sweetness, while the cheesecake was satisfying with its rich cheese filling. I will choose half-size cakes from now on. Thank you! [2011.10 Visit] I visited the branch of the famous confectionery shop "Shatoriz". The shop is bright, clean, and offers a variety of cakes, baked goods, ice cream, pudding, and roll cakes. The cakes are affordable and large, providing great satisfaction. The variety of cakes and other items is extensive, making it a place I will continue to visit.

I went to Chateraise Hikihara store. As you can see in the photo, you can see the urban expressway in the distance. If you go to the right, you will reach Notame, and if you go to the left, you will reach Tsutsumi Interchange. It is located on the east side of the Yuyama Sightseeing Road, south of the street where Mr. Max is located. At first, I entered out of curiosity thinking that a new store had opened, but I was surprised by the reasonable prices and wide selection of products. They have traditional Japanese sweets as well as ice cream. The ice cream here comes in a variety of flavors at affordable prices. The store has a space of 4/1 with ice cream on display. This Hokkaido Super Premium Ice Cream seems to be quite popular. I found a blog with more information. The choux cream and pudding look delicious too. The pudding is especially popular in my household. This is called a macaron, right? I haven't tried it yet! Is it hard or soft? Is it sweet or savory? It's a completely unknown food to me. The cakes here are delicious. Although they were sold out that day, I tried the strawberry mille-feuille and became a fan of this store. The cakes look very high-end, but the prices are reasonable. Now, let's try the sweets I bought. This is the strawberry choux cream for 105 yen! It has a double layer of strawberry sauce and whipped cream. The chocolate cake for 294 yen! It has chocolate bars inside the cream, giving it a nice crunchy texture. The strawberry bomb for 189 yen! This was also delicious. Cakes like these would cost around 300-400 yen at department stores in Tenjin. When I looked up Chateraise's website, I found out that they have 500 stores nationwide and 6 million point card members, making them a large company! In Fukuoka city, they have stores in Maematsubara, Higashi-ku 2-5-8 and Nokata, Nishi-ku 1-20-15. Another surprising fact is that the Chateraise Gâteau Kingdom Sapporo hotel where I stayed during my trip to Hokkaido is also part of this group company. I will continue to use their services from time to time.

I had some errands to run nearby, so I went to Shatoreze for the first time. Inside the store, there were various kinds of sweets everywhere. From traditional Japanese sweets like ohagi, mitarashi dango, and senbei to cakes, baked goods, and even ice cream! The variety was impressive and just looking at all the treats was enjoyable. I was surprised by the affordable prices! I mean, you can get a mitarashi dango for just 42 yen each! I was also surprised to see that they had additive-free sweets and low-calorie options. I bought the following items: Katsunuma-aged walnut and raisin natural yeast bread for 399 yen, Asa-nama yomogi dango for 42 yen, Asa-nama mitarashi dango for 42 yen, additive-free Baum cake for 126 yen, and raisin sandwich for 126 yen. The dango was too soft for my liking, I prefer the mitarashi dango from Seven-Eleven. The raisin sandwich was moist and the taste was similar to Ishimura's. The additive-free Baum cake was not as fluffy as regular Baum cakes, but it felt safe to eat since it doesn't contain any leavening agents. Above all, the staff here were all smiling and friendly, making it a place I would like to visit again.

In November 2009, Shatoreze expanded to Kyushu. Originally from Yamanashi, the company has been rapidly increasing its number of stores. A new Shatoreze has opened near my place, with a spacious parking lot and store. They offer a wide variety of Japanese and Western sweets, ice cream, and bread at affordable prices. They focus on using natural ingredients, making it safe for children to consume. One of their popular items is the Mont Chateau bread, which is exclusive to Kyushu and weighs over 1 kilogram. It can be sliced to your desired thickness, toasted for a crispy and fluffy texture. It's also delicious as is. I highly recommend it. When you make a purchase, they may include cream puffs or puddings in the bag. While suitable for personal use, it may not be ideal for souvenirs unless for close acquaintances. Their ice cream is mostly sold in packs of 5-6, making it more suitable for bulk purchases. They also offer discounted items with approaching expiration dates or slightly imperfect shapes at the checkout. Perfect for home use or tasting. Shatoreze is a fun and enjoyable store to visit.

By the way, it seems like they opened a new place! When I casually checked it out, the exterior looked stylish and high-end, but the prices were actually quite reasonable! After checking out the interior, I ordered the following: Strawberry Shiratama for 273 yen, Fruit Pancakes for 252 yen, Chocolat Scone for 210 yen, and a Pudding made with fresh eggs from a designated farm for 84 yen (as a souvenir). The Strawberry Shiratama had about 3 pieces of shiratama, agar jelly, and red bean paste, all mixed with condensed milk - a unique combination that surprisingly worked well together! The Fruit Pancakes were delicious - soft and fluffy, with lightly sweetened whipped cream that I really enjoyed. There was a wide variety of ice cream flavors available, all at reasonable prices, and I could see why this place is popular. I ended up becoming a member!
