I went to a bakery and espresso shop in Hakata for breakfast, but it was full, so I had to give up. It was 4:30 PM. I stopped by to take a break and satisfy my hunger before checking into the hotel. However, at this time, it was completely empty. I wonder if it was because it's mentioned on TripAdvisor or because it opens at 8 AM. In the morning, it was crowded with people from Southeast and East Asia. This shop is not directly operated by the company Nichitoto Co., Ltd., but is a separate shop. It opened in September 2019. It is located along Hakata Ekimae-dori on the west side of Hakata Station, about a 6-7 minute walk from Hakata Station. The nearest subway station is Kushida-jinja-mae Station on the newly extended Nanakuma Line, and you have to walk back a bit towards Hakata Station. It is located on the first floor of THE BLOSSOM HAKATA Premier hotel in Hakata-ku, Hakata Ekimae, and the neighboring building houses the Mitsui Garden Hotel Fukuoka Gion. Inside, there are tables for dining in and counter seats, and it's quite spacious. There is an oven in the kitchen for baking bread, so the bread seems to be baked here, and the French toast looks like it can be eaten hot. Most of the bread for takeout was sold out. In addition, the French toast on the eat-in menu was sold out. So I tried a Fukuoka specialty menu item, the Moo Mentai set for 1,300 yen, with a regular hot coffee. They cut the Moo, bake it in the oven, and top it with mentaiko cream, mentaiko butter, and seaweed. It was quite delicious. It also comes with a side of carrot salad. In Fukuoka, they put mentaiko in everything, but I think this is also a good way to eat it. Since it was not crowded, I relaxed and spent time deciding on tomorrow's itinerary. It seems better to go in the afternoon or evening (until 7:00 PM) rather than during the busy morning.
