I visited SALVATORE CUOMO & BAR Kokura in Kokurakita Ward, Kitakyushu City. The location is on the first floor of Daiwa Roynet Hotel Kokura Station, about a 2-minute walk from JR Kokura Station, Kokura Castle Exit. I have visited other branches of this restaurant before, but this was my first time at this particular location. I went with a friend to have some wine. It was just before 9 pm and the restaurant was about 40% full. The interior was spacious, with counter seats, table seats, and even private rooms available. We were seated at a table and placed our order. We ordered a small size (S size) of the 4 Cheese Pizza (1,800 yen) and a bottle of Kami no Ya Cabernet Sauvignon (4,000 yen). The wine was served promptly, and the pizza arrived in about 10 minutes. The pizza had honey drizzled on it, and we enjoyed it by adding some more. The menu listed 5 types of cheese on the pizza: Gorgonzola, Edam, Samsoe, Mozzarella, and Grana Padano. The S size pizza was 23 cm in diameter. The cheese was gooey and delicious, and the honey complemented it well. The crust was also tasty, and even though it had been 2 years since I last had pizza, I truly enjoyed the flavors. My friend chose a wine from Yamagata Prefecture, Kami no Ya Cabernet Sauvignon. It had a slightly punchy richness, typical Cabernet Sauvignon aroma and acidity, and felt dry, but overall the flavors were not very distinct and it was not to our liking. We didn't order any additional pizza and left the restaurant. The atmosphere was bright and pleasant. In addition to pizza, there were other menu options and a variety of drinks available. The convenient location near the station made it a very user-friendly restaurant. The staff were polite and attentive. Despite our wine choice not being the best, the pizza was delicious, and I would like to visit another SALVATORE CUOMO location in the future. Thank you for the meal.
