Since we were short on time, we decided to quickly purchase our favorite items separately. Our main goal was to try the famous Shiroi Koibito (White Lover) soft serve ice cream. It was 4:40 PM on a weekday. There was no one at the soft serve ice cream booth, but there was a line of people at the souvenir shop counter. In order to order the soft serve ice cream, we had to first place our order and make payment at the shop counter. The "Shiroi Koibito Soft Serve Ice Cream" (White) costs ¥340 and is a soft serve ice cream flavored with white chocolate from the famous Hokkaido confectionery "Shiroi Koibito." The rich and sweet taste of white chocolate blends perfectly with the delicious Hokkaido soft serve ice cream, creating an incredibly delicious treat. Despite being cold, it is not overly sweet and has a strong milky flavor, similar to condensed milk soft serve. However, you can still taste the white chocolate in the background. This was my third time trying it, and it did not disappoint. I will definitely come back for more.

Revisited on November 18, 2022 [Late Autumn Hokkaido Trip 2022 Day 6 Part 8]. As a JAL Card member, I always make sure to stop by the "Blue Sky New Chitose Airport Departure Lobby Store". (I get a modest 5% discount on my bill every time.) I purchased: - Snow Sand (Black, 5 pieces) x2 for 918 yen each - Snow Sand (White, 5 pieces) for 918 yen - Japanese sweet potatoes (4 pieces) for 507 yen - White Thunder - Sato Suisan salmon flakes I tend to choose similar souvenirs each time, but this time I was lucky to be there when the popular Snow Sand was available, so I bought as much as I needed (3 boxes). However, now I regret not buying 2 more boxes.

JR Hokkaido New Chitose Airport Station is the nearest station. I purchased this at a souvenir shop inside the airport terminal building. There are many popular Hokkaido souvenirs, but I decided to try something new and bought this. - "Forgotten Things of the Forest" 5 pieces for 950 yen This baked confectionery seems to be inspired by Satoshi Kuramoto's "Forgotten Things of the Forest". The story is about squirrels forgetting where they hid their food, nuts. The baked confectionery is designed to look like a tree stump or something buried in the ground, with nuts hidden inside. It is a very sweet treat, made with condensed milk in the dough. It is quite sweet. However, it lacks the handmade feel that you would expect from a traditional Western or Japanese confectionery store. It seems more like a mass-produced product from a large manufacturer, made on a factory line. I fell for the packaging, haha.

2022.6.18 (Sat) Revisit [Early Summer Hokkaido Trip 2022 Day 3 Part 11] The enjoyable early summer Hokkaido trip is coming to an end. After arriving at New Chitose Airport and checking in our luggage, it's time for souvenir shopping! We always make sure to stop by "Blue Sky New Chitose Airport Departure Lobby Store". It's a great place to buy souvenirs we forgot or gifts for home use. It's always a comfortable shopping experience, so I highly recommend it. We purchased items such as Sato Suisan Salmon Flakes, Wakasa Imo sweet potatoes, and Hana Ki Premium Assortment.

2021.10.23 (Sat) Revisit [Autumn Hokkaido Trip 2021 3rd Day Part 8] As usual, I had soft serve ice cream at the airport to settle my stomach, and then went to "Blue Sky New Chitose Airport Departure Lobby Store" to buy souvenirs. It's a small gesture, but JAL card users get a 5% discount on purchases at "Blue Sky," so I use it when buying souvenirs I forgot to get. I bought Yotsuba Fermented Butter for 599 yen, 4-pack of sweet potatoes for 507 yen, and Royce Variety Pack for 1,177 yen. Compared to before, I noticed that I'm buying fewer souvenirs at the airport on the way back, so the cost-effectiveness is not as good as it used to be, which is a bit disappointing.

Only 8 bags for 1000 yen. When I opened the bag, I was surprised by how little there was - it's too few! The way it's cut is different from what I expected, it's flat. The right amount of saltiness brings out the sweetness of the sweet potato, but... the cost performance is not good. Even if I received it for sprinkling, one bag doesn't feel like enough to satisfy me.

If you are a JAL card member, all souvenirs are 5% off, so many people stop by. Knowing the days when the discount rate was better (10% off), 5% feels like just a token gesture. Well, it can't be helped in this day and age. I purchased items such as Royce Fruit Bar Chocolate (Strawberry) for 648 yen, 4-pack of sweet potatoes for 507 yen, and Sato Suisan's salmon flakes for 988 yen. Souvenirs that need to be refrigerated are always purchased at airport shops because they are difficult to carry around.

I came to enjoy Hokkaido gourmet food. However, the airport is a paradise for foodies. It has a variety of Hokkaido's iconic stores, and you can easily spend 3 hours here! Especially when it comes to sweets, there are plenty to choose from such as Royce's chocolate chips, Rokkatei's butter sandwiches, LeTAO's cheesecakes, Hokkaido Kario's cream puffs, Yawaragi from Sanpachi Roku, Snaffles' cheese omelette, Kinotoya, Morimoto, Chitosean's dorayaki, and many more. You can also enjoy soft-serve ice cream at each of these shops. At Pronto Cafe, you can try Iwase Farm's soft serve, and at Snow Brand Parlor, you can enjoy Snow Royal. The options are endless! The freshly baked corn bread at Biei Senka is very popular, and you can even buy the salmon kimchi that SMAP's Nakai highly praised at Marui Imai's Kitakitchen. It's easy to get carried away buying souvenirs here because New Chitose Airport is just so appealing. Now, amidst all this, I came to try the White Lover soft-serve ice cream from Ishiya Seika, which was featured on the TV show "Matsuko's Unknown World". Although the ISHIYA CAFE has closed down, you can still enjoy White Lover soft serve at the Blue Sky shop in the airport. And the best part is, there are plenty of shops selling it, so you can choose where you want to have it. The White Lover soft serve costs 400 yen. While there are mixed and chocolate flavors available, I recommend trying the plain one to fully appreciate its taste. It's rich in milk, fresh, and incredibly smooth. Hokkaido milk is truly delicious! I'm planning to do a soft-serve ice cream taste comparison around here. Thank you for the meal.

On July 13, 2020 (Mon), during my revisit to Hokkaido, the last stop at New Chitose Airport was at the "Blue Sky New Chitose Airport Departure Lobby Store" to purchase souvenirs. It was past 4 pm and the store was relatively empty compared to usual, making it easy to shop around. I bought the following souvenirs: - Hokkaido Dairy Butter: 1,036 yen - Sato Suisan Salmon Flakes: 988 yen - Sweet Potatoes (4 pieces): 507 yen - Yotsuba Pancake Mix: 548 yen I mostly purchased souvenirs that I usually buy. I also bought the pancake mix from Yotsuba for the first time and I'm looking forward to having it for breakfast on the weekend.

I decided to look for souvenirs to give out at New Chitose Airport, but many shops in the airport are closing at 6pm due to the impact of the new coronavirus. However, this shop is open until 8pm, offering a wide range of products from sweets to delicacies. I bought the Hokkaido Choco Jagacky 12-piece pack from "Wakasaimo Honpo" for ¥756, and tried one myself. It is a simple yet delicious snack, with half of the Hokkaido-grown potatoes baked with butter coated in chocolate on a crispy cookie.

Arrived at New Chitose Airport! Oh, it's so sad to think that I won't be able to come to Hokkaido for a while (ノД`). But New Chitose Airport has powered up with things like watching movies, relaxing in hot springs, making it a perfect theme park where you can spend a whole day (*´∀`♪ I want to arrive at the airport 3 hours before my flight to fully enjoy it... This time I arrived 1.5 hours before, but it's not enough time. ⚫ Haichu Yubari Melon flavor (Hokkaido limited) for 648 yen ⚫ and Wasabi Kombu Yama for 648 yen. I bought Haichu Yubari Melon as the first souvenir at the request of the little one. Personally, I prefer "Puccho", but later I found out that either one was fine... "I ended up eating the whole thing in one go (ノД`)..." Once you get one, you can't stop with Haichu! The little one was satisfied too, so that's good. I'll buy my own souvenir too. It's a specialty product of Minamichitose-cho, next to Hakodate, with a sticky texture and full of nutrients! It was the last day of my trip to Hokkaido, so I ordered the mixed cone of White Lover's soft cream under the clear blue sky. I paid with electronic money. In the past, you could only find this soft cream at places like Shiroi Koibito Park, but now you can find it at any airport in Hokkaido. I ate it right away. The cream part of the White Lover's soft cream was rich and delicious. New Chitose Airport offers various food samples, so I ended up eating too much, but I'm glad I was able to eat this soft cream at the end.

On the 4th day of my business trip to Hokkaido in June 2019, I visited a dessert shop where I usually buy souvenir ramen from a brand called "Higuma." Today, I noticed something new - a limited edition item called "Shiroi Koibito Soft Serve." I decided to try the White and Black Mix for 340 yen. The soft serve was smooth and sweet, with the chocolate flavor being decent. I also appreciated the quality of the cone. Overall, it was a pleasant experience at the departure lobby store of the airport.

The other day, I attended an event called "Oji Presents Hokkaido Edition - Rishiri Island and Rebun Island," where I studied kelp, sea urchin, and water. Since the main focus was on food ingredients, I didn't have much time to explore other shops, but I visited this place as the 17th stop on a carefully planned 30-minute food tour. This soft serve ice cream that I always have when I come to Hokkaido is simply amazing. It has a perfect balance of refreshing taste and depth, with a smooth texture that even feels juicy. Every time I come to Hokkaido, I always buy Marusei Butter Sand from Rokkatei. My wife and I both love this product, and we always look forward to it. This time, I bought a pack of 5. It is consistently delicious as always. When eaten cold, it adds a refreshing sensation and depth of flavor, making it very tasty. Thank you for the meal.

Sapporo one night, two days trip. On the return flight to Nagoya, just before departure, bought a white Black Thunder at the convenience store "Blue Sky" in the domestic passenger terminal building at New Chitose Airport. It's individually wrapped so it's perfect for eating some myself and scattering the rest as souvenirs. Yuraku Seika (Toyohashi), White Thunder, deliciousness slides directly!! "White Black Thunder" Hokkaido limited mini size 12 pieces excluding tax 600 yen. HP: "Coated cocoa cookie crunch chocolate with plenty of white chocolate using milk." It has a crunchy texture and is relatively less sweet for a Black Thunder. But I guess it's made at the Toyohashi factory... Oh, is there a Sapporo factory too?
