"Totally nuts," I declared that I would not engage in any food blog activities for the weekend, but when Yomesan said, "Let's go to Nakashibetsu," I ended up following along. While Yomesan was shopping, I looked around for a place to write. Isn't that a food blog activity? I can't eat alone... So I decided to come after meeting Yomesan at Baskin Robbins. Yomesan decided what I should get, and when I said, "I can't drink shakes," she said, "How about gelato?" So I said, "Pistachio?" It looks really colorful. "Are you coloring it?" I asked. I'll ask the round lady. This is just for the color. It has caramel and nuts like peanuts mixed in. It's sweet. Well, it's probably because it's for kids. But where did the pistachio go? It's delicious, but you shouldn't advertise it as pistachio. It's a mini for 280 yen. Baskin Robbins is expensive."

Outskirts of Chubetsu town, on a hill maybe? A whole area lined with shops, where you can find everything you need. No need to be formal here, it's the countryside, no one will judge you (just kidding!). It's bustling with people, and even though the costs are low, the selection is better than some bigger cities. The town center feels lonely, though. It seems like the town has declined along with the railway. I got a soda from the food court with a Baskin-Robbins, always ordering the same cream soda-like drink (embarrassed). But I like it. I'll definitely come back when I need to refuel my car, which always needs a top-up when driving around Lake Akan.

It's been a long time since I last visited. I checked every month for the seasonal limited flavors, but this time it's Halloween. Last year they had pumpkin, but not this year. They have new flavors like banana split, trick or treat ice cream, caramel praline, bourbon cherry, cotton candy, and baseball nuts. Among them, I tried the brown sugar & lemon and pistachio ice cream. My daughter ordered the Halloween parfait, which was cute and delicious. The brown sugar & lemon is recommended for lemon lovers, with a nice combination of lemon and caramelized sugar. The pistachio didn't have a strong pistachio flavor, but it was still delicious.
