It's a new moon. The oshiruko was delicious. The granola was innovative? The banana chips were also great! The mochi was big and gooey. The seabeans yaki had a nostalgic taste. The seaweed flavor was spot on. The mochi was a bit too soft though. I will definitely come back. The mentaiko butter looks delicious. ^ ^

On the first floor of Maruyama Class, there is a specialty store for "Isobe-yaki". Originally, they were selling from a mobile food truck, but they opened this permanent store last December. Isobe-yaki has a somewhat plain image, but looking at the menu, there are various toppings ranging from Western-style to Japanese-style to sweets. I chose the "Mochi Pizza" (450 yen) because I wanted to try toppings that I normally wouldn't have at home. You can add tea for an extra 200 yen, so I chose the "Jasmine Tea (Hot)" set. The mochi is grilled after you order it. It only takes about 6-7 minutes to be ready. Mochi Pizza... the mochi is made from Hokkaido-grown glutinous rice and is topped with cheddar cheese, homemade tomato sauce, and thick-cut bacon. It's like a Japanese-style pizza with mochi instead of pizza dough (laughs). The cheese becomes gooey with the warmth of the mochi. The combination of melted cheese, bacon, mochi, and seaweed creates a new sensation of Western-style Isobe-yaki. It was my first time trying it, and it was quite delicious. If you have leftover mochi from New Year's, you could try making it at home too. The Jasmine Tea (Hot) was simply delicious jasmine tea, but you can also choose Taiwanese tea or the "Today's Special" for the drink set. I'm curious to try the special drink too. There were many other toppings that caught my eye as well!

I tried mochi for the first time, which I had wanted to eat for a while. I purchased the carefully selected ingredient, Isobe-yaki, to take home. It looked delicious when it was freshly baked and warm. Even when I ate it at home, it was tasty with plenty of seaweed. It was a bit pricey, but it's good to indulge once in a while. Thank you for the meal!

In order to solve the parking problem, I had lunch at Maruyama Class 1F for 450 yen for tarako butter and 200 yen for jasmine tea (set price). It was a win-win situation for shopping. I rarely come here, so it was like an exploration. The popular Isobeyaki shop was near and not crowded on weekdays. The freshly made Isobeyaki was ready in about 5 minutes, and it was so hot that I couldn't hold it. It was delicious, soft, smooth, and very stretchy. The soy sauce and seaweed tarako butter were excellent! For an additional 200 yen, I got a drink included, which was jasmine tea from Chimitsu. It was great to be able to drink it at this price. Thank you for the meal!

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, hospitalizations have been significantly reduced, causing delays in admissions. I was hospitalized again in April, following stays in September and January. As a result, I had to pause my usual reviews from April 19th until my discharge on May 6th. I managed to write reviews on my computer before admission and uploaded them from my hospital bed. I couldn't reply to comments on the reviews during my hospital stay, but I finally finished them recently. I appreciate all the "Likes" on the reviews uploaded by everyone, as they were a source of encouragement for me during my hospitalization. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Moving forward, thank you for your continued support. In May 2021, I visited "Omochiya Tsukito Maruyama Class Store," a specialty shop that uses Hokkaido-grown mochi rice to make the unique "Isobe-yaki." The concept is to serve freshly pounded and grilled mochi. The store, which first opened in December 2020, was previously mobile but now has a permanent location in the stylish commercial facility Maruyama Class in Sapporo's Chuo Ward. I visited with my usual companion on a weekday around 5 p.m. The store has about five eat-in seats, and I ordered the Maruyama Class exclusive "Yam Wasabi Katsuobushi." There is no pre-made stock, and the hot Isobe-yaki was quickly handed to my companion. The "Maruyama Class Exclusive Yam Wasabi Katsuobushi" weighs 124g (after deducting the packaging weight) and uses a blend of two types of mochi rice: "Kaze no Ko Mochi" from Yakumo Town and "Hakichou Mochi" from Kenbuchi Town. According to industry reports, the mochi is pounded early in the morning after soaking for over 12 hours. The mochi is wrapped in flavorful seaweed and served with bonito flakes and yam wasabi soy sauce. The price is 450 yen (tax included), and the dish is a delicious Isobe-yaki with a great combination of flavors. The name of the store, "Omochiya Tsukito Maruyama Class Store," has a nostalgic charm. I wonder which Isobe-yaki I should try next time. It was a delicious meal.

This is a slightly unusual mochi shop. I tried the Hokkaido tarako butter mochi (450 yen), which is mochi wrapped in seaweed with tarako and butter inside. It was served in a burger-like paper bag, making it easy to eat. I usually only eat mochi during New Year's, but this was quite delicious. I also ordered a jasmine tea for an additional 200 yen. There were various ingredients available, including sweet options. While it's not the most cost-effective option, I would like to try other varieties as well. The staff were also very friendly.

When I went to Maruyama Class, I found a new shop that had just opened. It is the first permanent store of a shop that mainly does mobile sales around Hokkaido. It seems to be a collaboration shop with "Senmillennium Tea," a tapioca and Chinese tea specialty store. I chose the Ultimate Mochi Bacon (450 yen), which is said to be the most popular item. It was described as "thick-cut bacon with tartar sauce," but the bacon didn't seem very thick-cut, which was disappointing. The mochi, made with Hokkaido rice, had a sticky texture and was soft with a good chewiness, which I liked. I decided to add today's dashi (+200 yen) since it didn't seem like they offered water. You can add a set drink for +200 yen, and I felt like I needed a drink to go with the mochi (laughs). I chose the dashi, but it tasted very weak, like tea leaves in water. I didn't really like it... I regret not just getting regular tea. It might seem a bit pricey, but since it's mochi, it's filling and perfect for a snack. If I have the chance, I'd like to try other varieties as well.

Negi miso mochi for 400 yen. I bought this because it looked interesting. I thought it was senbei, but it turned out to be mochi. I was planning to enjoy it while looking at the cherry blossoms, but then a crow attacked me, and I had to run for my life. It was scary. I didn't realize the crows in Maruyama Park were so aggressive. I won't bring food there again. I ate it cold at home, and it had a strong negi miso flavor. The mochi was firm, but not too hard even after half a day. It's quite filling, so one piece might be enough for two people. It's a bit tricky to find the right time to eat it. It's a bit on the pricey side for a snack, but if it was smaller and cheaper, it would be more convenient.

I was taken to an interesting shop♫ It's a mochi shop! They also have tapioca and drinks. ★ Black honey mochi ¥350 I forgot the official name (⌒-⌒; ) Mochi with black honey, topped with granola and banana chips. What a unique combination! Tastes great! The texture of the granola adds a nice touch! It goes well together^_^ It was a bit difficult to eat at first because I wasn't used to it haha I want to try something else too♫

The shop selling Isobe mochi that the owner mentioned was featured on TV. I stopped by while shopping at Maruyama Kura. It was probably on the first floor as I wandered around. Oh, it's a corner of a tapioca shop. It was different from what I had imagined. I thought it might be a take-out only shop like a dumpling shop. You can take out, but you can also eat in. Freshly made Isobe mochi is served, with various toppings like tuna mayo or miso butter available. Since I had just eaten, I ordered the plain one. I sat at a small counter seat and waited for a few minutes. The Isobe mochi was larger than I expected, priced at 300 yen. The mochi was freshly baked, slightly crispy on the outside and chewy inside. It was quite substantial. The taste was surprisingly light, I wished it had a bit more flavor. Perhaps the toppings would have been better after all? Honestly, the plain one felt like something I could make at home. I'd like to try it with toppings next time. Thank you for the meal!

I came to Tsukiusagi, located near Maruyama Class at Maruyama Koen Station, for a winter walk. This shop is a new initiative by Senritsu Tea, known for their tapioca drinks. They seem to have thought of offering mochi as well, as tapioca alone may not be enough to keep customers interested. I ordered the Isobe Yaki for 300 yen including tax. The staff consisted of two part-time male and female employees. They seemed a bit busy as customers kept coming in for both Senritsu Tea and takeaway orders. The shop has a small eat-in space, which is convenient. The Isobe Yaki is simple yet delicious. The quality of ingredients is key, and this dish did not disappoint. It took about 12 minutes to prepare. I received it along with the drink I ordered from Senritsu Tea. The combination of crispy, fragrant seaweed with slightly burnt surface and chewy mochi, along with soy sauce, was definitely a tasty treat. Despite being quite filling, I quickly finished the Isobe Yaki. Sometimes, enjoying such a hearty dessert is a nice change. Thanks for the meal!

On January 2, 2021, after visiting the shrine, I went to Maruyama Class on the 1st floor, where "Senmillennium Tea" and the kitchen are together, so I ordered "Tapioca Milk Tea" and "Isobe Yaki @300 (tax included)" at the same order counter. It takes some time to bake, so I waited in the small eat-in corner sipping on the Tapioca Milk Tea. When it finally arrived, the tray was brought with the freshly baked "Isobe Yaki" wrapped in paper and two napkins. The freshly baked "Isobe Yaki" had a nice soy sauce aroma, stimulating my appetite. The mochi had a slightly crunchy texture and a slightly strong salty taste of soy sauce. Considering the price, I strangely felt satisfied. As there are few comparable stores as "Isobe Yaki shops," it's difficult to provide comments. Putting personal evaluations aside, I recommend those interested to visit and try the freshly baked mochi. Whether the genre of serving freshly baked mochi will be established may become a historical issue for the "2021 Olympic year." Thank you for the meal.

Chiba Sogo's Hokkaido exhibition, "Omochiya Tsuki Usagi Maruyama Kurashiten," specializes in Isobe yaki. The logo looks quite out of place, to be honest, it's a bit scary. It should be simpler and more friendly. The Premium Mochi Bacon (600 yen) uses Hokkaido-grown mochi rice, dipped in special soy sauce and topped with pickles. It's wrapped in paper, which may not be the best idea, maybe using transparent film could be better. The mochi rice has a nice texture, but the Isobe flavor is more eccentric than expected. It feels like something you would find in Shin-Okubo. Overall, it's a challenging product.

I was at a roadside station in Toyora and bought some food from a kitchen car that looked interesting. They had Isobe-yaki, which is not easy to find. They also had sweet options like black honey kinako and pizza flavors like miso butter. I tried the Isobe-yaki made with carefully selected ingredients for 300 yen, which had mochi, seaweed, and soy sauce - simple and delicious. I also bought some black soybean tea. The kitchen car said they go to various places.
