On the second day in Hokkaido, after drinking at our usual izakaya in Abashiri, we decided to continue drinking and headed to this familiar place recommended by the master. We grilled meat on a stove and enjoyed it heartily. Even though we had eaten quite a bit at the izakaya, we couldn't stop eating with our chopsticks. The meat was lean, but the salt sauce with onion topping was delicious. The young owner, who took over the business about a year ago, served us tasty yakiniku. We will definitely visit again when we come back to Abashiri.

It was my first visit since the management changed. They no longer serve deer meat, but the overall menu seems to be cheaper. We had quite a bit of food and had two beers, and it came to about 6000 yen for two people. I'm not very knowledgeable about meat, but it was delicious. The table only had sauce and garlic. Perhaps because they just started, they seemed a bit inexperienced. The seasoned Genghis Khan had a sweet taste, which is a classic flavor. The lamb loin was also delicious. The meat served in a round shape is called Pansan Sari, and the long meat is Pansan Kalbi. It was crowded with reserved customers, perhaps because it was the end of the year.

I am halfway through conquering all the Yakiniku restaurants in Abashiri, but I am starting to feel discouraged. Today, I visited "Yakiniku Pansan," a restaurant that has been around for over 10 years. It is located a bit away from the main downtown area, but not too far from the main street in Abashiri. This area holds nostalgic memories for me, from my student days working part-time at a izakaya and being taken to eat horumon by the older staff. The exterior of the restaurant is quite clean and the interior is also well-maintained. I ordered a beer, but unfortunately, it tasted bad. The meat dishes like Sagari and Tan didn't impress me much, and the kimchi was a bit too sour. The owners, an elderly couple, seemed friendly. Overall, I was not satisfied with the food or the experience, so I don't think I will be returning to this restaurant.

When I entered the restaurant, the first thing that caught my attention was the menu. They offer beef and special hormone as their main dishes, with no pork or chicken options so far. They also have pickled vegetables and a variety of drinks. It feels more like a yakiniku-focused izakaya. The sauce is similar to a soy-based sauce, and the grilling equipment provides sufficient heat. Unfortunately, I wasn't feeling well this time so I didn't try the special hormone, but I definitely want to try it next time. The owner seems to have connections in the local meat industry, so even though it's not on the menu, they sometimes offer deer meat and other options.

A yakiniku restaurant located a little away from the bustling street. The restaurant has been around for a long time and the interior is clean. The menu mainly consists of beef, with some variety of horumon (offal). Chicken, pork (except for horumon), and lamb are not available, which actually makes it feel fresh. There are two types of slightly sweet and smooth sauces. The vegetables such as onions and lettuce are finely cut and easy to eat, showing attention to detail. The beef tongue is served in thick slices, which was surprising. It was a bit difficult to eat, but the taste was not bad. The special horumon has a unique seasoning, which may be a matter of personal preference. Unfortunately, it didn't quite appeal to me.
