JR Hokkaido's Rumoi Main Line, near Rumoi Station. I think it was next March? At the time of the timetable revision next year, this Rumoi Main Line will also be abolished. (Although it is a phased abolition, with the timetable revision next year, there will be no more trains (Kiha 54 series single train) coming to Rumoi Station, making it a completely abolished area.) Now is the time to go! If you're going, go now! With that feeling, I arrived at Rumoi Station early in the morning from Sapporo Station. There are only 7 round trips a day, so I had about 2 and a half hours until the next train after arriving at Rumoi Station, so I explored the area using food apps like Tabelog. This shop is a little away from Rumoi Station. Actually, the item was purchased not at the actual store, but at a local product shop near Rumoi Station. ● Rumoi Imo (white bean paste) ● 148 yen Looking at the list of ingredients, it includes wheat flour, chicken eggs, water candy, mirin, sugar, white bean paste, leavening agent, soy sauce. No potatoes are used. However, it seems to be a product created with the image of a confectionery that gives a mochi-like texture similar to sweet potatoes. It has a large appearance and taste like sweet potatoes. The glossy front and the gentle handmade feel are nice. The sweetness is very sweet.

I bought the "Rumoi Potato" from the shop "Wagashi Tamamura" at the Rumoi Tourism Association. The sweet is wrapped in an edible rice paper, resembling a sweet potato in appearance. Although it is called a "potato," the inside is filled with sweet white bean paste, with a strong sweetness similar to a sweet potato. The taste is also similar to a sweet potato. I will visit the shop next time. Thank you for the treat!
