Just a minute's walk from Nishi 28th Street Station, this curry restaurant is hidden away in a residential area at the end of a street. It's a quiet little spot that's only recently opened, so we were able to walk in easily on a weekday around lunchtime. This place is actually the second branch of the famous curry restaurant "Maruyama Kyōju" in Maruyama. Known for their delicious curry, great atmosphere, excellent service, and Instagrammable presentation, Maruyama Kyōju sets high expectations. Inside, we were greeted with the same pleasant service and stylish decor as the original Maruyama branch. The quirky menu and fun atmosphere were also consistent. I was planning on ordering my favorite seafood curry, the "Ham Curry," but then I saw the "Pork Mabo Curry" for the first time! So, I decided to try the "Pork Mabo Curry Level 5 Spicy" for 1500 yen. It was my first time trying pork mabo, and it was a hearty and bold curry with the flavors of mabo tofu, pork, and the restaurant's curry roux blending perfectly. The curry had the same unique umami flavor as always, but with a strong meaty taste. It was delicious. The restaurant allows you to choose the amount of rice and spiciness level, so you can feel at ease. They also offer takeout for just the curry roux, which is a nice touch. This is one of my favorite places, and I highly recommend it while it's still not too crowded. Thank you for the meal, and I'll definitely be back! ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I wanted to eat curry so I went to Hatsumaru Professor for the first time. The menu is very interesting! I ordered the classic seafood curry, and it was filled with an abundance of seafood ingredients! It was very satisfying to eat. The seafood-flavored curry was excellent. I visited the restaurant around 11:20 on a regular day, and there were probably about 6 other customers. The retro interior with 90s J-POP playing created a cozy atmosphere. I wanted to try the 3,300 yen Premium Ham Curry, but unfortunately it wasn't available today. Instead, I went for the popular Ham Curry for 1,780 yen with a spiciness level of 4, and chose the option of extra rice. It was a rare thick curry in Sapporo with plenty of ingredients, and it was delicious. They also have a variety of other curries like Beef Curry and Chicken Curry, so I would love to visit this restaurant again.

The shop was hidden in a residential street, and it is located on the second floor. As soon as you enter, you go up the stairs and enter the shop. There are both counter seats and table seats, and it felt more spacious than the shop on Nishi 18th Street. Once you try the incredibly delicious Ham Curry, you won't forget it. Even if you try other curries, you'll always come back to the Ham Curry. It contains shrimp, scallops, surf clams, squid, zucchini, carrots, and broccoli. They have many picture books and the staff was extremely kind to children. They quickly provided a chair, brought out picture books, and even gave a child-sized apron. They also brought out a mild curry later on, so children can enjoy it too. I definitely want to bring my child here once they can eat curry. The curry is delicious, the service is wonderful, it's a fantastic shop!

I often go to Enzan Kyoju with my son, and the balance of fresh vegetables and seafood is always perfect. The sauce enhances these two ingredients beautifully. Today, I challenged myself with a spice level of 5-, and even though my taste buds are becoming less sensitive, I enjoyed it deliciously.

Arrived at the restaurant at 11 am on Saturday, right after opening. There was one group of customers already there, and four more groups arrived after me. It's definitely popular. This is my 7th visit in a month. The gardening and plants around the entrance ramp are growing well! A new menu with "irregularly held" items has been added. I always check on social media, but they usually only have events on weekdays, so it's hard to make it... (Note: The next day on Sunday, they had a "Premium Ham Curry" event... I missed it.) This time, I ordered the "Ham Curry" (1780 yen) for the second time since my first visit, with a spice level of 4 and extra rice. The staff confirmed that it was the sauté version, not the stew, and I agreed. It arrived about 10 minutes later, following the order of the previous customer. Yes, personally, I prefer this "sauté Ham Curry" over the stew version, it's the best!!!! The seafood curry has a rich flavor, but I think the ingredients are sautéed in butter, which enhances the richness. The seafood is also deliciously firm! There was one carrot and one zucchini, and the deep-fried broccoli was tasty too! Once again, I was very satisfied with the deliciousness. I've been coming here monthly since they opened, but I've come to the conclusion that the "Ham Curry" is the best!!! So, I'll stop here for now, but I'll definitely come back occasionally!

Dinner in June 2023. There is no parking lot, so you have to park your car at a nearby coin parking lot. If it's your first time coming, you might think, "Is there really a shop in this back alley?" As you climb the stairs and enter the entrance on the second floor, you pass by a man holding a small child. Oh! It's the super famous CEO who continues to create innovative ramen in Sapporo! Inside the restaurant, the wife is at the counter, and although it felt rude, I had to say, "I watch you on YouTube!" She responded with a smile, "Thank you♪" The menu now includes a premium Hamakare with deep-fried sea urchin topping available only from June to August. It's not available every day during this period, but if you're lucky, you must try it. Oyster and minced meat curry ¥1580. The sight of Hiroshima-grown (probably still Hiroshima-grown) oil-marinated oysters sitting majestically is breathtaking. I think Costa, one of the staff, is in charge of marinating these oysters now. They retain the original firmness of the oysters while condensing the umami flavor. The curry has minced meat and mushrooms, playing a great supporting role. My wife and second son said, "Looks delicious..." and I reluctantly shared one oyster each from the five on the plate. As we were leaving, I asked Costa, who was in the kitchen, "Are you getting used to it now?" He replied with a big smile, "Yes, I am used to it!" His delicious curry is not only for oyster lovers but also for those who don't usually eat oysters. It's a curry that I recommend trying!

The restaurant is not facing the street with cars, but rather located on the side of a residential area near the park, and surprisingly on the second floor. It is known for its delicious curry, with the Hamakare being the most popular priced at 1780 yen for a 280g serving of rice with a spiciness level of 5. The sautéed and stewed dishes seem to be popular, with the sautéed dish being the highlight. In the past, they tried to attract customers with a high-cost seafood curry in Shakotan. Particularly, the sweet shrimp was considered important. Although it is no longer available, I remember how delicious the sweet shrimp ramen at Jogura in Yoichi was. I heard that there was a story about the original store, Tamura Iwataro Shoten, being prohibited on Tabelog, but it does appear on Google Maps. Personally, I think Google Maps is more reliable than Tabelog. The presentation of the dishes is amazing, especially the seafood sauté, with a hint of fried garlic aroma. The flavor is rich, not overly spicy, resembling teppanyaki. The curry is delicious, making the rice go down smoothly. This makes me want to upgrade to a larger serving of 300g or more. The saltiness is a bit strong, but the taste is clear and enjoyable. The spiciness level is set at 5, which is just right. Anything lower would have the characteristic sweetness of seafood overpowering, while anything higher would have too much spiciness overshadowing the seafood flavor. The South Maruyama store seems to be crowded, but the North Maruyama store is more manageable. It is actually quite close from the subway, and within walking distance from my home. I hope this restaurant continues to thrive. It has now joined my top ranking alongside the Lukare curry. The Lukare curry emphasizes richness, while soup curry focuses on lightness. Spice curry has a wide range of flavor profiles.

It was my 6th visit in a month. The gardening around the entrance ramp has progressed quite a bit. Prices have increased by 50-100 yen starting this month, which is understandable. I ordered the "Simmered Ham Curry" (1780 yen) with a spice level of 4 and extra rice. It was a dish I had tried at the main branch. Although I couldn't sit in my usual spot at the front counter, the aroma of the cooking curry still reached me at the far end. The dish arrived about 10 minutes later, following the previous customer's order. Unlike the regular "Ham Curry" (refer to my first visit), this one had seafood ingredients besides soft-shell shrimp in the curry. The seafood added depth to the curry, which was flavorful with just the right amount of spice for someone who prefers medium heat. The shrimp, squid, and other seafood were fresh and delicious. There were also chunks of carrots, which were a nice addition. The fried broccoli on the side was also tasty. Overall, I was very satisfied with the deliciousness of the dish. Ham Curry is still the best! Although, I feel like the regular "Ham Curry" might have been even better... I'll have to try both again next time! (Just because I want to eat them)

If you are looking for concise information about the restaurant and food, please move on to other people's reviews around here. I feel like going to eat "curry" soon. Hmm... it feels a bit forbidden. I need to go to a "delicious restaurant" quickly, or the impatient old man's stress will build up. Oh, that's right! I remember last time (February) when I visited this place (Kitaenzan Professor) for the first time and saw the menu... hmm, what was that? Caught the eye of the old man, who is a bit picky. Let's try "that." When you hear "Enzan Professor" or "Kitaenzan Professor"... it's a popular restaurant known for its rich and delicious curry sauce, unique visuals, creative and diverse arrangements, and the deliciousness of the ingredients. With that in mind, each person seems to have their own special menu that they recommend. It's understandable, right? I also want to eat "that" which caught my attention, not a secret menu, it's listed on the regular menu, so there's no need to be intimidated. I arrived around 11:15 (Saturday) at this second branch of the "popular restaurant where you have to wait outside." It's a three-story house-like large restaurant, but when I visited before, there were hardly any customers. However, there were gradually more customers, such as young couples and young mothers with small children, around 11:30. I was guided to the counter seats on the left side at the back of the second floor. The menu was briefly checked. Hmm... it's been three months since my first visit in February, but the prices seem to have changed slightly. Compared to the previous menu images, most items had increased by 50 to 100 yen. ☆Sapporo City, Kita Maruyama☆ Visited the curry restaurant "Professor Kita Maruyama" for the first time. This is the second branch of the popular Kita Maruyama Professor known for their shrimp curry. Arrived at the opening time of 11 am and ordered a Sapporo beer (Pilsner) to start. Tried the popular "Hama Curry" which is filled with the flavors of shrimp and various seafood and vegetables. However, there was no parking nearby and the restaurant seemed to be a combination of a store and a residence, with a strange layout that required climbing stairs. It may not be accessible for wheelchair users or those with knee problems. I ordered the "Vegetable and Pork Curry" with rice (sized as small, medium, large) and chose level 4 spiciness, but it turned out to be quite sweet, so I should have gone with level 5. The vegetables were fried as expected, which was good. However, the curry base was just like ordinary home-cooked curry, which was a bit disappointing for a curry specialty shop. It was tasty but didn't quite meet my expectations. The prices were also on the higher side, so I felt that there are better options in terms of cost performance. It was also disappointing that there was no "Vegetable Curry" on the menu, as I prefer vegetable-based dishes. Usually, a restaurant with a variety of options would offer a vegetable curry as well. Choosing vegetables ended up making the curry more expensive.

After enjoying cherry blossom viewing at Maruyama Park and Hokkaido Shrine, we decided to have a late lunch on our way back. We walked slowly to a restaurant located in a residential area. There was no parking lot available. Upon entering, we were greeted by a flight of stairs leading up to the dining area. We mentioned that there were two of us, and the staff directed us to the second floor. Surprised, we climbed the stairs and were seated in a cozy room with sofa seating. Since it was a late lunch, there were only about three other groups of customers. I opted for the seasonal special, "Oyster and Minced Meat Curry," which looked delicious in the photo. I chose a spiciness level of "6" and medium rice portion. The curry was flavorful with a nice depth of taste, different from the seafood-flavored curry I had tried before. The grilled oysters were plump and juicy, a delight for oyster lovers. It had a good kick of spiciness, making my nose run a bit. I would love to have this curry again soon. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

There is a sign stating that there is no parking available. In addition to the usual female staff, there were two young female staff members this time. I ordered the "Numbing Chicken Curry" (1200 yen) with a spiciness level of 4 and numbness level of 4 (for those who can handle strong flavors). This menu item left a strong impression on me when I first tried it at the main branch. This time, I went for a stronger kick. The curry had a rich flavor with a pleasant spiciness and numbing sensation, and it was delicious as always!!! A spiciness and numbness level of 4 was just right for me. Maybe I could handle level 5? The texture of the nuts and shimeji mushrooms was also good. Once again, I was completely satisfied with the delicious taste. I'm starting to miss the "Hama Curry," so next time, I'll try the "Simmered Hama Curry."

Located near the Sapporo West 28-chome Station in 2023/4, the three-story curry restaurant "Maruyama Kyofu" is hidden away in a maze-like alley. The atmosphere inside is stylish and dimly lit, with a steep staircase adding to its charm. Unlike the main store where there are long lines, this branch has plenty of seating and operates continuously, making it convenient for customers. The curry menu is full of tempting options, making it difficult to choose. However, the popular choice is always the "Hama Curry," which never disappoints. The restaurant also offers a great deal on a set with Otaru beer for 2000 yen. Before the meal, enjoy a refreshing Pilsner beer from a selection of three types. The dish itself consists of rice topped with sautéed seafood, including large scallops, crunchy oysters, sweet shrimp, and tender squid. Each bite is bursting with flavor, with the garlic adding a nice touch. The vegetables, especially the broccoli, are fresh and complement the seafood curry perfectly. Lunch on April 17, 2023 was at Professor Kitamizan's restaurant. Arriving a little early, the owner kindly ushered me inside. The previous day featured a special curry event with Wagyu beef curry, but unfortunately, it was sold out. So, I decided to go with the Ham Curry. This curry has a seafood-based sauce, making it a perfect match for seafood dishes. The broth was sweet with a hint of spice, and the inclusion of Hokkigai (surf clam) added a nice touch. The dish also included squid, which complemented the curry well. The sautéed squid and deep-fried shrimp were particularly delicious. The owner even brought out a small plate of beef tendon from yesterday's curry, which was tender and flavorful. Overall, the meal was delightful, and I look forward to trying the curry topped with sea urchin during the sea urchin season from June to August at the main store, Tamura Iwataro Shouten, starting in June.

Arrived at the restaurant right after it opened at 11 am on a holiday. There were 2 groups of customers ahead and 1 person, followed by another group later. This was my 4th visit in a month. The entrance of the building was under construction with a wooden ramp. There was the usual female staff and a young male staff this time. I ordered the "Cheese and Pork Curry" (1350 yen) with spiciness level 5 (very spicy) and extra rice. It arrived in about 10 minutes, faster than before. Just like the "Pork Mapo Curry" from my last visit, the curry sauce covered the entire rice. On top, there were cream and cheddar cheese. It looked amazing! Two types of Fukujinzuke and deep-fried lotus root were served on the side. The curry sauce was different from what I've had before, not seafood-based but more traditional, and still delicious!!! Spiciness level 5 was not as extreme as I expected, even someone who prefers medium spiciness can handle it. My mouth felt tingly after eating. The combination of cheddar cheese and curry sauce was great! There were plenty of pork cubes, very tender! I was very satisfied with the taste this time as well. However, compared to the "Ham Curry" or "Oyster and Minced Meat Curry," the satisfaction level was slightly lower. I'll keep the same rating, but this time the "dish/taste" gets a rating of ★4.5. Definitely delicious enough. I'll be back next month! Next time, I'll try the "Numbing Chicken Curry".

The pork is arranged around the outer edges. Use a spoon to break up the cheddar cheese slices. It's delicious, right? The rich cheddar goes so well with this curry. For cheese lovers, this curry is a must-try. The sweetness of the pork is also nice. If you're not a fan of cheese, there's a simple pork curry available too. As always, the meal was over in no time.
