I stayed at a lodging on Okushiri Island and had dinner there. I opted for the additional uni and abalone course (1 night with 2 meals for 13,000 yen). The menu included simmered hokke fish, salted red fish with koji, cheese-fried cod, squid jerky, and Ainu green onions (called Kitoviro in Ainu language). The course also featured a variety of uni dishes, including uni sashimi and uni hot pot. I thought that if I hadn't chosen the upgraded course, the meal would have been quite simple. I'm glad I upgraded because the seasonal uni was delicious on its own, full of flavor and sweetness. I enjoyed plenty of Murasaki uni. I also had 2 servings of sake and 2 glasses of draft beer for an additional 2,600 yen.
