On a certain weekday, I stopped by a specialty store for muffins and baked goods in Chitose City, Kitasakae 1, for lunch. There was parking space for one car next to the store. The interior of the store was simple, with a counter displaying muffins and a glass case below showcasing pound cakes and other baked goods for sale. From the menu on that day, I chose something that caught my interest from the various types displayed on the shelf, and through my mask, I asked the very beautiful lady for it. I purchased the "Simple Plenty Pumpkin Muffin (380 yen)" simply because it had an unusual color for a muffin, and when I took a bite, I was pleasantly surprised by the moist texture of the cake, which was not very sweet. Personally, I thought it was perfect, but for some, it might be too little sweet. The flavor of the pumpkin was subtly subdued in a good way. I also bought the "Decaf W Mocha Pound Cake (380 yen)" from the pound cake section. I thought, if it's coffee-flavored, I might like it even more. At the top, I expected whipped cream, but it was a different kind of cream that had a slight tanginess, almost like cheese. It was interesting, and the pound cake itself looked like chocolate but was actually coffee-flavored, which I appreciated because it wasn't too rich. There were walnuts and almonds inside, adding an interesting touch to the cake. Lastly, I purchased the "Banana Cake and Florentine (370 yen)" because I was torn between that and scones. I thought a banana flavor would be delicious, and when I took a bite, I found it to be moist. There were almond slices on top, and instead of a sweet caramel-like coating, there was a slightly soft coating with a caramel flavor. The moistness of the cake was excellent, and the sweetness complemented well as a tea snack. The presence of banana was not overpowering, making it a well-balanced treat. I suddenly thought, when it comes to muffins, I personally prefer a shop in Higashi Sapporo, but in Chitose City, this might be the number one spot. Thank you for the meal.
