I visited The Garden Pizza in Ikeda for the first time, after seeing that it opened in late September. I had made a reservation over the phone for their most popular pizza, Fresh Tomato and Mozzarella, priced at 1600 yen. The shop is located near Iroha and Neno on the same Nakadori street. It is a home/shop combination with a pick-up only setup. We enjoyed the pizza in the car at the Ikeda Wine Castle parking lot, within 10 minutes. The pizza is made with thin crust made from 100% Hokkaido wheat, topped with Tokachi tomatoes, fresh basil, and milky mozzarella. The tomatoes were delicious, even my picky companion approved. The special sauce made with Tokachi wine may have been used in this pizza, but I couldn't tell as I have an unrefined palate. The packaging included instructions for reheating, paper napkins, paper towels, wooden forks, and the pizza box itself without a plastic bag, which I personally appreciated. The shop operates from 12:00 to 18:00 during the winter season from November to April, and in the summer season from May to October, they operate as a kitchen car. It seems like they also sold from a kitchen car last year based on their Instagram posts. It was a great dining experience at this shop, rumored to be related to a very famous person in Ikeda.
