I received a stamp at Michi no Eki Akai River. There are new shops that were not there when I visited last year. One of the new shops is a soft serve ice cream shop that uses milk from Takahashi Farm in Niseko Town. The menu also includes zangi (deep-fried chicken) and fried potatoes, but since it was a hot day, I opted for the soft serve ice cream. It was rich but not too heavy, with a refreshing aftertaste of milk. The soft serve ice cream had a nice milk flavor, typical of products from Takahashi Farm. I would definitely want to try it again when I visit Michi no Eki Akai River. Thank you, Village!

"Michi no Eki Akigawa" is a popular stop for restroom breaks along the mountain road "R397" leading from Otaru towards Iwanai, Kutchan, and Kyogoku. There is a soft serve ice cream shop called "Village" operating in a prefabricated building in front of the facility. They use fresh milk from Niseko Takahashi Farm for their soft serve, and also offer items like zangi, imomochi, fried potatoes, and yukidaruma-yaki. The soft serve is served in a cone for 400 yen, and despite the slightly high price, it is satisfying with a rich milk flavor and smooth texture. While the soft serve from Yamanaka Farm is more famous in Akigawa, personally I prefer the one from here. I also recommend trying the maple soft serve sold inside the Michi no Eki, which is also delicious. If you have the chance, give it a try!"
