Meihoro... I don't have much time, so I search for a takeout restaurant on Tabelog. I find a few options and decide to visit the closest bakery. Unfortunately, it is sold out and closed. I then head to "Handmade Bakery Shikano". It is located up a hill, away from the shopping street. The storefront is simple and there are various pastries priced around 100-150 yen. I buy the "Vienna Sausage Bread @ 148 + tax" and "Walnut Cheese Bread @ 157 + tax". The Vienna Sausage Bread has a soft texture with a small sausage inside, while the Walnut Cheese Bread has a nice combination of walnut crunch and cheese. It seems like they ran out of hard bread when I visited. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I had planned to buy bread from a bakery but I couldn't find the photo of the bread I bought, so I will search for it again before uploading it. I couldn't find any bread at the bakery I visited, so I had to postpone it. Eventually, I found a bakery while passing through Bihoro Town. The bakery was small and cozy, and the lady working there was very friendly. I decided to try their bean bread and curry bread. The bean bread was moist and delicious, although it could have had more beans. The curry bread was also tasty. Overall, the bakery had a nice selection of bread that would appeal to most people. Keep up the good work!

◆July 2015◆ On the way from Bihoro to Tsubetsu, I remembered the delicious curry bread and decided to stop by. However, since it was just after opening, most of the bread was sold out. I ended up buying a cheese bread and a hamburger, which were quite ordinary but comforting. The real highlight here is the curry bread, which is absolutely delicious. They were also selling vegetables in front of the store.
◆June 2014◆ On the way from Bihoro to Tsubetsu, I visited a bakery located across from the Bihoro Rehabilitation Hospital that had caught my eye before. The parking lot fits one car in front of the store. The interior is small, with shelves lined with various types of bread. The main items are traditional sweet and savory bread. It has a down-to-earth atmosphere, unlike the trendy whole wheat or rye hard breads. It seems like the kind of shop where locals go to buy bread every day.
[Purchased bread]
- Sausage bread
- Curry bread
- Chocolate coronet
- Bean bread
All of them are really homey bread. The sausage bread has a lot of coarse ground frankfurters, and the combination with fish sausage and ketchup is just heartwarming. I love this kind of bread. I thought all of them were pretty average in taste until I tried the curry bread and was surprised! It is rich, spicy, and has a strong curry flavor. It's so good, I want to have it with curry rice! The curry in the curry bread might be the best I've ever had. I definitely want to go back and buy more.

"Chu" It's a small place, like a home. I happened to see it around April and had been wanting to visit. The shop has been around for about 5 years, as the owner mentioned. It has a cozy atmosphere that attracts locals rather than aiming for an artsy urban style bread. You can't help but think, "Oh, this is nice." It feels like a space where regular customers come to buy bread rather than people coming from afar for a specific purpose. Initially, I was surprised by the small size and limited variety, but there's a baking area inside this small house. It's nice (*^^) When I asked if I could take photos, the woman said, "Wait a moment, should I move the bread closer?" and the man said, "Take a delicious picture." I feel like I'm falling in love with the whole shop. When you feel a little hungry, or when you want to buy a snack for your child, this is the kind of nostalgic bread you go for. There were a lot of soft bread varieties. I was curious about the anko collaboration, and also the apple roll. There are so many things I want to eat. But I only have one stomach... This time I bought the Negi Soboro (160 yen) and the Apple Roll (160 yen). Negi Soboro... it's perfect for when you're a little hungry! I recommend buying it on a drive and eating it in the car. Apple Roll... it's a soft bread with a slightly dry apple filling, and a hint of cinnamon fragrance. It's quite refreshing in taste. Even those who don't like overly sweet or rich cakes might enjoy this. ☆For those visiting for the first time☆ - It has an old-fashioned bread vibe. - You might think it's a bit pricey. - The staff are friendly and will happily answer any questions about the ingredients. It's a cozy bread shop. - There didn't seem to be any hard bread varieties (please refer to the photos). I feel like I'll end up buying the Negi Soboro again next time.

I always pass by a bakery along the national highway. I finally went there for the first time the other day. There is parking space for one car. Inside, you can see the kitchen where an older man was diligently making bread! There is no seating area, only a place to make purchases. It might be a bit cramped for two people. They have a good variety of bread for the size of the shop. The bread is more like traditional bakery style rather than fancy. I bought cream bread, red bean bread, and burdock root bread. The cream bread had a lot of cream inside, which was surprising! The old man was a nice person, working hard to make bread and serve customers. I plan to stop by again.
