May 2011 [97th bowl] @ Soy Sauce Ramen
Wow, what a great golf course! It's a self-play day, but you get a round of golf with a meal for only 5000 yen! Since it was almost like a private booking with very few customers on this day, I was able to play a very leisurely round. It's surprising that a ramen that usually costs 900 yen is included in the green fee. So, the 97th bowl of this year is decided to be soy sauce ramen! They also have other options like zangi set meal, ginger pork set meal, and napolitan.
- Appearance: It's a typical soy sauce ramen, but it's nice to have Hokkaido-specific wheat gluten in it. The colorful toppings also look delicious.
- Soup: The soup is full of seasoning, but it's comforting. It seems to be a commercial soy sauce base, but let's just say it's a familiar taste. It's slightly salty, but just right after a round of golf.
- Noodles: The medium-thick curly noodles with a high water content and glossy yellow color are beautiful. They are familiar noodles that you can slurp comfortably. The cooking is just right.
- Toppings: There are two thin slices of char siu, menma, spinach, seasoned egg, and wheat gluten. The thin char siu is quite good, and the fluffy texture of the wheat gluten soaked in the soup is wonderful.
Overall, honestly, it's a ramen that anyone could make, but at a golf course, I can't help but feel affection for the simple soy sauce ramen. Who cares about the golf score? Thanks for the meal!

I really like this place for some reason, even though liking it and having a good score are different things. Maybe it's because I've played here many times and I know the course well... Anyway, this summer was hot, but I didn't play in the peak heat, so I didn't have many hot rounds this year. I love hot days! So, on this day, I had a meal before playing. My friend had a discount coupon, so it was quite cheap with a meal included. I chose the cold noodles, which is the 174th bowl of this year. Of course, without cucumbers.
- Appearance: Without cucumbers, the lack of color makes it look quite bland. Considering it's a meal with a discount coupon, it's quite a generous portion.
- Noodle sauce: It's a typical market-available noodle sauce, which is somehow reassuring.
- Noodles: Ordinary medium-thick high-water content curly noodles. The cooking and firmness of the noodles are just right. Loose noodles in cold noodles are the worst!
- Toppings: Ham, bean sprouts, shredded omelet, tomato, pickled ginger, sesame. The shredded omelet had some residual moisture, making it a bit mushy. Other than that, there are no distinctive ingredients.
Overall, it's a typical cold noodle dish. I shouldn't complain about a meal with a discount coupon at a golf course. More than the meal, the beer I had after sweating during practice before the round was incredibly delicious! I hope to aim for a better score next year on this course. Thanks for the meal.

The 102nd bowl of this year is the ramen at a golf course in Hayato. It's the restaurant at Oakwood Golf Club. The green fee for golf is decently priced, but the meals at golf courses are still a bit expensive. I ordered the soy sauce ramen for 900 yen.
- Appearance: The clear soy sauce-based soup with plenty of toppings looks quite appetizing. From the appearance, it seems to have a light taste, but let's see how it actually tastes.
- Soup: It may be inevitable, but it seems to be a pre-made soup base. It has a slightly salty taste, but I don't dislike it. There's also a hint of sweetness.
- Noodles: The curly noodles with a high water content are slightly overcooked, but they go well with the soup. If they were a bit firmer, it would have been perfect.
- Toppings: Ham, bean sprouts, shredded omelet, tomato, pickled ginger, sesame. The shredded omelet was a bit watery, making it mushy, but other than that, the toppings were unremarkable.
Overall, it's a typical soy sauce ramen. I can't complain about a meal with a discount coupon at a golf course. More than the meal, the beer I had after sweating during practice before the round was incredibly delicious! I hope to aim for a better score next year on this course. Thanks for the meal.
