Now onto the second restaurant. My friend Hidaka made a reservation and we were shown to our table. I ordered a lemon sour for 440 yen, while Hidaka chose a bottle from the fridge and went with the Yamahōshi Junmai Bakurai Karakuchi Genshu nama-zake for 660 yen. Cheers! The appetizer for 440 yen was squid yakitori or fried oysters for 660 yen. Hidaka loves oysters, so I chose the fried oysters with a crispy coating and juicy inside. We enjoyed them with mayonnaise and sauce. We also ordered the Satsuma Jidori chicken sashimi with kabosu ponzu for 1650 yen. Of course, we had to try the Satsuma Jidori chicken, and the sashimi was marinated in sweet soy sauce. The ponzu sauce added a refreshing touch, and the charcoal-grilled flavor complemented it well. The rare texture of the chicken benefited from the cut shape, and the ponzu sauce with garlic (I think) added a punch. The sliced onions also paired well with the ponzu sauce, making it a dish that would be popular with women. It had been a while since we last visited, and we discovered a new restaurant that had opened, so we'll have to visit again soon. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I visited for dinner. I was on a business trip to Shizunai. This time, I ordered 'draft beer', 'grilled salted chicken thighs (small)', and 'Japanese rolled omelette (with dashi broth)'. The grilled chicken thighs here are really delicious♫ The garlic flavor is great. The beer goes down so easily (^^) The Japanese rolled omelette is also delicious♫ The dashi broth adds a nice touch. Visited for dinner after about 1 year and 8 months. Came to Shizunai on a business trip so decided to stop by. Ordered a 'draft beer', 'grilled chicken thigh with salt (small)', '4 chicken wing tips (pepper)', and 'cold tofu'. The grilled chicken thigh here is delicious♫ It's even tastier with garlic added (^^) The chicken wing tips might have a bit too much pepper but it's starting to grow on me! Also ordered 'grilled eggplant' as an additional dish. The grilled eggplant is also delicious♫ It's been a while since I've had it... I definitely want to come back to eat here again. Category: Favorite Izakaya (Hokkaido & Tohoku) Today, I went on a solo trip to Shizunai Izakaya. Despite the light rain, I rode my bicycle along the Nijukken Road in the morning. I was able to do a great bike training session while admiring the beautiful cherry blossoms. In the afternoon, I had a drink at "Amaya" before going for a walk around Shizunai town. After checking into the hotel, I relaxed in the large bath and took a nap. Now, it's time for dinner. In the evening, I headed to "Jidoriya Takachan-ya" that caught my eye during my walk earlier. I started with a draft beer, Asahi Super Dry. The appetizer was a simmered dish. There was a solo male customer already there, chatting with the staff and seemed like a regular. I relaxed while watching TV, which was showing the live-action version of "Rurouni Kenshin." The scene of Okubo Toshimichi being assassinated during the Ikedaya Incident added excitement to my drink. After about 9 minutes from the beer, the grilled Satsuma Jidori thigh arrived. It was delicious, especially with yuzu pepper. It's from Satsuma, not Niikappu, so it's different. After 11 minutes from the beer, the Satsuma Jidori tataki was served. Having sashimi after grilled dish was quite refreshing. The Kyushu soy sauce brought back nostalgic memories. I shifted my focus from the TV showing a gruesome scene and continued drinking. I ordered a black shochu with hot water after the beer. It took some time as they were preparing a kettle of hot water. I leisurely enjoyed the sashimi. The staff talked about their school trip memories, which brought back my own memories. I didn't have the best memories as I was a "mob." Time passed with jokes about sweet soy sauce. It's time to head back to the hotel. Thank you for the wonderful meal. I visited for dinner. I came to Shizunai on a business trip and found this place on Tabelog. First, I ordered a "Green Tea Highball," "Grilled Peach with Salt (small)," and "Tamagoyaki (with dashi)." The grilled peach with salt was delicious ♫ It's nice that it comes on a hot iron plate! Maybe I should have ordered the regular size instead of the small one (･_･; The tamagoyaki was also delicious ♫ I think the dashi is what makes it good!
