Laughing Fukutou is located off the main road, unlike Awaji-san which is along the national highway. It's close to Awaji-san, so you can go on a cake shop tour by walking! I bought the children's favorite Bekomochi for 108 yen each, available in sets of five or ten. They can only be purchased frozen, so remember to thaw before eating. The retro leaf-shaped Bekomochi is a hit! They offer eight types of cakes: Mandarin Orange Torte, Cocoa Torte, Kiwi Torte, Pine Torte, Strawberry Shortcake, Sweet Potato Crepe, Cream Puff, and Sweet Potato. The prices vary depending on the size, starting from the 200 yen range with fair pricing. The taste is simple and rustic. The Sweet Potato is more chunky than smooth. They also sell bread, which was a surprise. The sizes are generally small, and the prices are a bit high, but they offer around 20 varieties. I heard they also bake the school lunch bread here. I'm curious about the "Torte" series, so I definitely want to visit again!

※Please note that the store information, menu content, and prices are based on the last visit. Prices are inclusive of tax unless otherwise stated. ~~~First Visit (24.10.9)~~~ (Exterior) The red-brown building facing the town hall street is easy to spot with the prominent "ueki" sign. (Interior) The small interior doesn't feel cramped, with around 20 items on offer - a manageable selection for those who find too many choices overwhelming. The store offers a mix of Japanese and Western sweets, with dagashi (cheap candies) on the left side of the entrance and bread towards the back left. It feels like a countryside sweet shop where schoolchildren might stop by. There is no seating area, so please keep that in mind. (Food) I purchased the following sweets this time: - Honneri Yōkan (690 yen): A refined and not overly sweet yōkan with a smooth texture. It's well-crafted, and it's no surprise it won the gold prize at a past national confectionery exhibition. It's a suitable tea snack that you won't be embarrassed to serve. - Iwajō (368 yen): An original product from the store inspired by the rocky shores of Cape Erimo. Placing them on a blue plate can give a stylish touch. With around 18 pieces per pack, it's a perfect gift for family, friends, or colleagues. The coconut flavor is just right, and each piece has a satisfying weight, making it a snack even men would enjoy. It's a snack you'd want to have on hand for tea time. (Other) Since the store doesn't have parking, it's recommended to use the parking lot at the "Erimo Town Public Hall." I hope this review can be helpful to you in some way.

Located in the center of Erimo town, if you come from Urakawa direction, you can find the shop by turning left after passing the Erimo Town Hall about 200 meters on Route 336. Established in 1948, this shop has been loved by the local community for over 60 years. They offer a wide variety of Japanese and Western sweets, but the highly recommended item is the "Honneri Yohkan." This traditional sweet has been made using the same method since the shop's founding, ensuring a taste that has been passed down through generations. The Yohkan, which is carefully kneaded for 4 hours, has a fine texture and a refreshing aftertaste. It won the Honorary Gold Award at the 20th National Confectionery Exhibition (Tokyo Exhibition) held almost every 4 years since 1911, with a break during the war. This nationally recognized Yohkan with a long history is a must-try when you visit Erimo town.
