I had heard about it, but finally went there. I ordered the pork cutlet rice bowl and small soba set. At first, I was surprised by the small soba, but it turned out to be cold soba in the small bowl. However, the amount in the small bowl was not small at all. The pork cutlet rice bowl had a nice sweet and salty flavor. I left feeling full. Thank you for the meal.

I ate so much for breakfast at the hotel, but for lunch I had a katsudon and a small soba set. I was expecting a big portion of soba, but it turned out to be cold soba with a dipping broth. The katsudon had a strong broth flavor. It was a bit different from what I had in mind. The soba was a bit rough in texture. It cost 1,000 yen, so it was okay.

Katsudon seems to be famous here. I ordered Katsudon for the Capybara, who likes it, and Panda got Tendon Soba. The Tendon Soba was delicious with a crispy tempura on top. The shrimp tempura was small and quite firm, but it added a nice aroma to the dish. The Katsudon, which I tried despite not liking it, was surprisingly delicious. Overall, the meal was tasty. Thank you for the delicious food!

This is my second visit. According to my friend in Hakodate, this place is known for its katsudon and ramen. I ordered the limited-time katsu curry ramen for 900 yen. The curry soup had a thick texture and was hot with a light flavor. It wasn't spicy. It had pork belly and chicken in it. The noodles were thin and soft. It might be easier to eat if they were a bit firmer. I definitely want to try the katsudon next time. (April 2022)

I found out that this place is famous for its katsudon after I placed my order... I felt like having curry nanban soba after a long time and decided to visit. The curry nanban here is generous and delicious. I just realized they also serve ramen here. It's more like a cafeteria than a soba restaurant. It's almost guaranteed that you'll end up sharing a table since there are no seats available. This place has a nostalgic atmosphere. I was a bit curious about the young part-time staff wandering around in casual clothes, but it turns out they do deliveries. Sorry about that. Well, now I'm curious about the katsudon. I'll visit again to try it out.

I went to a different soba restaurant on this day, but it was closed even though it wasn't a regular holiday... So, I changed my plans and went to Edo Hachi for the first time in a while. This place is known for its delicious katsudon. I arrived a little before 12 o'clock and there were only 2 customers ahead of me, which was less crowded than I expected. When I looked at the menu, I found a set meal of soba and katsudon, so I ordered it without hesitation. The katsudon arrived first in less than 5 minutes! Wait, I ordered a set so I wanted both at the same time haha. After waiting for about 2 more minutes, the soba arrived. Finally, I could start eating. The soba was a typical machine-made soba with standard dipping sauce. As for the katsudon... Hmm, was it this salty before? I took another bite... No, it's definitely salty. The breading on the pork cutlet is a fine type of breadcrumbs, so it easily absorbs the sauce. That's why it tasted quite salty to me. I feel like the soba used to be better and faster in the past, but now it feels like a different restaurant, lacking the charm I used to feel. However, there were more customers coming in after me, so it's definitely a place loved by regulars.

In this neighborhood, there is a famous restaurant. I had the pork cutlet bowl and soy sauce ramen at Edohachi. The pork cutlet bowl with simmered pork and egg was delicious with the flavors blending well. The soy sauce ramen was a bit too greasy, which was a little disappointing. They have a parking lot available.

I visited Edoya-san after a long time. Oh! Even though it's a soba restaurant, ramen and katsudon are popular here (laughs). I've been here a few times, but it's been a while since I last posted... So this time, I'll try the soba (^_^;) Oomori... 580 yen. It was brought to me in about 8 minutes. It's a lot, isn't it? I took a side angle photo, and it's quite tall. Well then, let's dig in! The soba noodles are long and tangled. The taste is just like regular town soba. I wish the dipping sauce was a bit stronger... Thank you for the meal. Recently, as a light eater, I'm already full. Next time, I'll go back to basics and have ramen! ←? (laughs)

Edo Hachi♪ What a pleasant sound♫ It seems that everyone around the old man is familiar with the equation of Edo Hachi = "katsudon + soba" set = ¥1,000 and Pavlov's law, which makes them drool...~~; For those who are well-known residents of Hakodate, there are few who do not know this delicious katsudon and soba restaurant. I have been there several times, but the deliciousness of the katsudon always feels fresh. The place is always crowded, making it a struggle to park in the adjacent parking lot, and sharing a table is common in the not-so-friendly staff. However, regular customers seem to have a unique understanding and interaction. Each time, the katsudon set, served cold, is placed in front of you, along with the bright yellow pickles and soba soup. The thinly sliced katsu with a shiny glaze is mouthwatering, and the sweet onion in the slightly salty-sweet broth is heavenly! The slightly moist rice, mixed with the flavorful broth, is also delicious! Munching away happily, the soba bowl is served without delay. The soba itself is just a regular street soba, nothing special, but it surprisingly complements the meal perfectly! Sprinkle some green onions from the container on the table, add a dab of wasabi, and let's dig in! Despite the mess in the bowl, it's so satisfying! Scooping up the remaining rice at the end, I can't help but enjoy every bite. Despite feeling stuffed halfway through, the allure of this place captivates the old men. Satisfied and full, the restaurant continues to fill up, so I quickly stand up and go to the mother in the back to pay, while the young staff members greet everyone with a smile. In Hakodate, there is a long-established soba restaurant with many regular customers. The interior of the restaurant has a Showa-era feel. The noodles are delicious, but they are long in length, similar to Edo-style soba. Next time, I will try the popular katsu-don zaru combination on an empty stomach!
