I recently discovered a hotel in Shin-Sapporo that I really like. It has become like a regular place for me to stay. This time, I had no specific plans and may not come back again, so I wanted to pick up something special while I was there. I found a fruit cake factory. My wife loves the fruit tart from there, but I had already bought a lot and didn't have much money left. So, I asked if they could give me a break by offering cream puffs instead. I bought three cream puffs. I didn't eat them right away, but I ate them sooner than usual. The pastry was soft, and I had no complaints about it. The cream was custard, but I wonder if there was also whipped cream mixed in. It was delicious, and I was worried about the calories because of its large size. Despite my usual habit of stopping before finishing, this time I finished it all because it was so tasty.

After returning from the hospital, I found Lemon-san by chance while wandering around. I got the "Dokanko Madeleine Lemon" with a super cute package seal! It's smaller than regular madeleines. As soon as I opened it, I could smell the nice buttery scent. It's super moist and has a rich butter flavor. I love it. It has a fluffy lemon taste. There are lots of lemon peels in it. The icing on top is also nice. It's like a lemon cake! Highly recommended delicious madeleine.

I received Taiwanese Castella cake - it's here, it's here, it's here! I'm so happy, I love Taiwanese Castella. Even before opening the box, I thought it might be big, and it turned out to be quite large as I had imagined. I'm so happy (o´艸`). It looks really fluffy. I had an amazing strawberry tart from my favorite cake shop, Fruit Cake Factory! It was huge and I was so happy~ \(´ω` )/ Wow. There were so many strawberries on top~♪ They were juicy and the tart crust was crispy. It was so delicious and I could eat a lot of it, making me very happy (o´艸`) It was the best! The combination of strawberries and custard is classic and just right in terms of sweetness. The tart base is actually made of pie crust, which was a bit surprising to me as I thought it would be cookie dough. I prefer cookie dough as it is crispy and sweet. I also tried their Basque cheesecake, which costs 250 yen. It is dense and rich, with a gentle hint of bitterness from the burnt surface. It's a great value for the price. The staff didn't rush me to make my selection, which made the whole experience comfortable. They make eye contact and come to assist you at the showcase when you're ready. The New Sapporo store offers an all-you-can-eat deal on the 25th of every month for 1,900 yen, but it was canceled in April due to the coronavirus. I heard that there are long lines on weekends and holidays, so I hope the situation improves soon. By signing up for their email list, you can get a 20% discount on all purchases during your birthday month, which is a great deal. I might consider buying one of their slightly more expensive tarts during my birthday month.

After work, I wanted to have something sweet and decided to go shopping in Shin Sapporo. I stopped by the Fruit Cake Factory. It was around 6:00 pm and there were only a few customers. The friendly staff greeted me in a gentle tone, which was very soothing. I bought a "Cream Puff @180", which had a mild sweetness with a hint of vanilla flavor. The custard was fluffy and the choux pastry was moist, which I didn't mind. I also purchased a "Hojicha Tart @700", which had a subtle hojicha aroma and a lightly sweet cream. The tart was easy to eat, but the cost performance was not great. I have a feeling I will be back to one of these places again. Thank you for the meal.

When I was living in Sapporo, I used to visit my favorite fruit cake factory at least once a week. At that time, there was no shop in Shin-Sapporo yet, and I remember it was located near Oyachi. This time in Sapporo, I stayed at the Shin-Sapporo Ark City Hotel, so I explored Shin-Sapporo which brought back nostalgic memories. It was the nearest station, so I used to go to Shin-Sapporo often, but after 12 years, Shin-Sapporo has changed a lot. The fruit cake factory has also introduced new menu items like tart sets, where you can get 2 pieces with a drink for only 900 yen! What a great deal! And they even have an all-you-can-eat cake event on the 25th of every month – how amazing is that! I hope to visit Sapporo on the 25th someday to take advantage of this offer.
