Sushi Yama-no-san, located a 5-minute walk from Kitahama Station, offers a reservation-only omakase course. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere with a traditional exterior. We enjoyed the 19:00 omakase course for ¥16,800, which consisted of a variety of nigiri and seasonal dishes. The course included dishes like mozuku and yamaimo tororo, Hokkaido bluefin tuna with onion sakura chips, abalone nigiri with caviar, and more. Each nigiri had a unique twist and was beautifully presented. In between the nigiri, we were served small dishes and a mini bowl of rice topped with eel. The quality of the food was exceptional, and we even got to enjoy homemade sweets at the end. The portion sizes were generous, so it's best to consult with the chef about adjusting the rice portion. Overall, it was a satisfying dining experience with attentive service from the chef. Thank you, Yama-no-san, for a wonderful meal!

Course starting from 6pm. It's fine to arrive just 5 minutes before the store opens, as dishes are all delicious and the drinks flow. There are 24 dishes with generous portions, but they can adjust the amount of rice so if you start feeling full, you can ask for less. Each dish showed attention to detail. The drink menu is extensive. Prices were not listed on the menu so details are unclear. The "Uni and Ikura Rice Bowl" that came out midway offers a choice of regular, large, or extra large for the amount of Uni, but additional charges are unknown. Personally, the oyster soup was amazing, with a creamy texture and richness reminiscent of shirako. The total for two people was around 41,000 yen. The service at the restaurant was very kind and provided a pleasant dining experience. Recommended for special occasions.

I made a reservation in advance for 6:00 PM on a weekday! The evening has two start times, 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM. The restaurant has counter seats and table seats (private rooms). For the evening, there is only one option, the omakase course for ¥16800. Additional orders are possible. The meal started with draft beer and appetizers like mozuku seaweed. The third dish was the famous caviar-topped sushi, with scallops as the topping on this day. The dishes were served in the order shown in the photos. There were a lot of dishes, and they were all incredibly delicious! It was a great value restaurant. Thank you for the meal!

Located in Kitahama, this popular restaurant offers creatively crafted sushi dishes such as caviar sushi and original chawanmushi. The restaurant operates on a reservation-only basis, with two seating times at 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm. This time, we tried the "Chef's Choice Course" (16,800 yen) which included:
- Niigata rock seaweed and Awaji Island conger eel steamed and grilled
- Kesennuma bonito charcoal-grilled with ponzu sauce
- Nigiri sushi with scallop and caviar
- Chiba peanut puree-topped chawanmushi
- Nigiri sushi with Oma fatty tuna
- Nigiri sushi with koshodai fish
- Chiba clam and winter melon soup
- Aori squid with homemade karasumi (salted mullet roe)
- Nigiri sushi with swordtip squid
- Nigiri sushi with sweet shrimp
- Nigiri sushi with abalone
- Nigiri sushi with medium fatty tuna marinated
- Nigiri sushi with eel
- Cress roll
- Itaya shellfish with ginkgo nuts and sushi rice
- Uni and salmon roe mini rice bowl
- Simmered conger eel
- Negitoro (minced tuna with green onion) and smoked pickled radish roll
- Shine Muscat grape and sweet potato brulee
- Mitarashi dango (sweet rice dumplings)
The chef's attention to detail is evident in the slightly firm and temperature-adjusted sushi rice, tailored to complement each topping. With over 20 dishes in the course, the sushi and side dishes offer a satisfyingly generous portion.

In Osaka, the Caviar Sushi at Sushi Yama in Kitahama is famous. The quality, taste, variety, and price are all very satisfying, making it a highly recommended sushi restaurant. The chef's creativity and dedication can be felt in the unique sushi and dishes that offer new flavors and sensations that make you want to keep coming back. We had the omakase course for ¥16,800, which included a variety of dishes such as Mozuku seaweed, Awaji Island grilled conger eel, Italian Osetra caviar sushi with scallops, steamed Chiba peanuts, Aomori tuna belly with warm vinegared rice, aged whole fish, crab, and more. The caviar sushi with scallops was delicious, featuring Italian Osetra caviar with just the right amount of saltiness. The Aomori tuna belly was served with warm vinegared rice that melted in the mouth. The abalone was even softer than the rice, and the eel was served freshly grilled with a tantalizing aroma. The caviar sushi with scallops and the eel were highlights of the meal. The eel was served in a hot pot, maintaining its heat until served, and the dish was accompanied by plenty of fresh wood sorrel. The Japanese ivory shellfish was served in a savory sauce, a unique and delicious dish. The Nagasaki simmered conger eel was served in a bowl, showcasing the chef's dedication to creating the perfect dish. The dish had been upgraded about ten times to ensure that the flavor of the eel wasn't lost. The sushi rice was also specially prepared to maintain its heat until serving. The dish was finished with a sweet potato brulee and fresh pear, followed by homemade mitarashi dango. I selected my favorite Tenma cut glass and enjoyed it with sake. Sushi Yama is constantly evolving, offering a sushi experience that everyone should try. Don't miss out on this highly recommended restaurant.

I received the omakase course for dinner at 16,800 yen, with 7 pieces of sushi and 17 other dishes! It will definitely fill you up. For women, the smaller rice portion might be recommended. For men, the regular size will make you quite full! The first dish was a refreshing mozuku seaweed dish that also brought out the flavor of conger eel. The main side dish had plenty of sea urchin on top. You can choose how much sea urchin you want on it. The ikura (salmon roe) with added cooking method burst in the mouth and had a creamy texture, a new and enjoyable sensation! Even though I usually don't like ginkgo nuts, they blended in without any bitterness and were incredibly delicious in the chawanmushi (savory egg custard). They also offer lunch, with 20 items for 12,800 yen, which is also a great deal!

About a 5-minute walk from Osaka Metro Kitahama Station, a warm and inviting restaurant with a sense of elegance appears along the riverfront ☺️ I had been curious about this sushi restaurant in Kitahama for a while, and finally visited it on this day. The interior of the restaurant is a sophisticated and calm space with a large L-shaped counter seating for 12 people and private rooms at the back, with a faint background music playing which creates a pleasant atmosphere. The food is served in courses only️※additional orders are possible. ■Iwamozuku and Yamato potato tororo - a delicious dish with a mochi-like texture and a refreshing taste of mozuku seaweed. ■Bonito instant smoked with onion sauce - the aroma is irresistible, and the kumamoto-produced green seaweed adds to the deliciousness. ■Scallop with caviar - a generous serving of caviar with a perfect balance of saltiness and the sweetness of scallops. ■Edamame chawanmushi style - a flavorful chawanmushi with a paste of fragrant edamame and a gentle dashi broth. ■Toro - a beautiful form that shines and melts in the mouth. ■Koshodai - a slow and satisfying bite. ■Squid marinated with karasumi - a dish with plenty of karasumi that you'll want to savor bite by bite. ■Conger eel, eggplant, and winter melon soup - a delicious soup with clams and tenderly cooked conger eel. ■Octopus cooked in octopus broth - a delightful texture and juiciness, with peanuts as a perfect accompaniment. ■Kenika - a delightful sweetness and texture that will knock you out. ■Sweet shrimp - the chef's specialty slightly marinated in kombu, with a rich sweetness and a sticky texture. ■Abalone - softer than usual, with the liver adding a perfect touch. ■Pickled dish - a fragrant and delicious dish that melts in your mouth. ■Eel hand roll - crispy eel wrapped in crispy seaweed, simply delicious. ■Watercress roll - the crunchy texture is irresistible, I wanted to eat 10 more. ■Itaya shellfish sushi with sauce - the material may vary, but this is a staple menu item. The thick and flavorful Itaya shellfish with hot sauce and perfectly matched with the sushi rice, was incredibly delicious❤️. ■Small bowl of salmon roe and sea urchin - you can choose extra portions of salmon roe and sea urchin for an additional charge☝️I chose the large portion this time❤️. It was so delicious, I cried. ■Small bowl of conger eel - the conger eel is cooked in a special way to retain its original flavor, and mixed with hot sushi rice. The trio of "hot", "fluffy", and "tender" was a knockout. ■Negitoro and pickled burdock hand roll - the texture of pickled burdock and egg yolk sauce is exquisite, and the ratio with the sushi rice was so delicious. ■Miso soup - a comforting and gentle miso soup. ■Sweet potato brulee and melon - a chewy and sweet brulee and juicy melon. ■Mitarashi dango - a crispy and delicious bite-sized treat❤️. The course ended️. The chef's creativity and curiosity are wonderful, with a variety of unique and voluminous appetizers and sushi. The attention to detail in cooking the sushi rice according to the beginning and end of the course is impressive, and the chef's friendly demeanor and attentive service make for a comfortable and enjoyable dining experience without a doubt‼️. To be clear, this place is highly recommended, so please give it a try. Thank you for the meal.

Popular sushi restaurant in Osaka Kitahama, completely reservation-only "Kitahama Sushi Yama". The chef's innovative sushi creations and complimentary dishes are the highlights of this restaurant. The specialty dish is the caviar sushi. While the chef is not talked about much, the meticulous preparation and creative process are a must-see! We tried the 24-course chef's selection menu, and every dish was delicious and hard to choose a favorite. Our favorites included the caviar sushi, the two-layered chawanmushi with Kurosaki green beans, the Awaji Island conger eel with winter melon and eggplant in yuzu oil, the homemade squid and karasumi, the freshly seared eel hand roll, the watercress roll, the Hokkaido salmon roe, the Nagasaki simmered conger eel sushi, and the negitoro with smoked herring roe. The caviar sushi and negitoro with smoked herring roe were especially delicious. Our stomachs were very satisfied! The red vinegar rice varied in temperature and firmness depending on the topping. The variety of alcohol was extensive, and we enjoyed advice on pairing with sparkling wine and white wine. The counter seats provide a lively atmosphere, and there are private rooms for families to enjoy. With a large number of dishes and excellent flavors, we left very satisfied. Reservations are required for the 12:00, 18:00, and 19:00 time slots. The restaurant was fully booked on the day we visited!

The sushi rice is said to be Ver.15 or 16, the temperature of the jokes is adjusted, take a picture and eat it right away. It goes well with white vinegar sushi with wasabi made from Niigata. The conger eel is made with mochi rice and the Japanese sake is served in a Tenman Kiriko glass. The eel bento and conger eel bento as souvenirs were also delicious. Will definitely come back, good value for money.

First, a toast with bottled beer (^_^)/□☆□\(^_^) The dishes were a twist on seasonal ingredients, with a variety of red vinegar sushi that was satisfying in terms of both quantity and volume ( ´∀` )b The head chef mentioned that he had slightly changed the shari from today. He didn't specify, but the slightly firm red vinegar shari was fluffy and delicious (◞ꈍ∇ꈍ)◞⋆** I usually only drink beer, but they had rare sake, which turned out to be unexpectedly delicious ( ᵕ̤ૢᴗᵕ̤ૢ ) They also served two types of homemade sweets, making the overall dining experience highly satisfying until the end (๑•̀∀- ) Thank you for the feast.

I had been curious about this sushi restaurant for a while✨ The spacious counter seats with the warmth of wood make for a relaxing dining experience (*private rooms are also available👩🦰). They only offer an "Omakase Course" for both lunch and dinner here☝️. I tried the Omakase Course for the 6:00 pm seating, priced at 16,800 yen (tax included). It was a luxurious course featuring carefully selected seasonal fresh sushi and exquisite dishes❣️. The menu included dishes like Mozuku Tororo, Tuna and Onion with Cherry Blossom Chips, Steamed Edamame Rice, Indian Tuna Toro, Mahata, Swordtip Squid, and more. The sushi rice was particularly noteworthy, made with a slightly warm red vinegar that balanced perfectly with the toppings. The nigiri sushi, starting with the abalone and caviar, was visually stunning and delicious. The eel hand roll served hot with crispy seaweed was a delight. The dessert, including a sweet potato brulee and mitarashi dango, was also delicious. The Omakase Course consisted of around 13-15 seasonal sushi items and 7-9 seasonal dishes, offering a generous portion that even some men found filling. The quality and quantity of the food make it a great value for the price. If you can't finish it all, they can make the sushi rice into bite-sized pieces for you. The chef, Mr. Yamano, who loves food and is a great conversationalist, creates a popular Omakase Course that has been featured in the media. So, if you can get a reservation, I highly recommend trying it out❣️.

I visited for the first time and it was close to Kitahama Station. I reserved the omakase course at 6:00 PM for 16,800 yen (tax included). I heard that the portions were generous, and indeed, the course was very filling. For those with a small appetite, I recommend starting with the shari-koma from the beginning! The chef uses red vinegar in the shari, adjusting the cooking method, acidity, and firmness to match the toppings. The chef also explains about the toppings, making the dining experience enjoyable. One memorable dish was the small bowl of sea urchin and salmon roe. The amount of sea urchin topping was generous, even in the regular size, and the large and extra-large sizes were impressive. If I hadn't been so full, I would have wanted to try the extra-large size. Other sushi and dishes were all carefully prepared and delicious! There were also sushi with scallops and caviar that stood out! We were able to enjoy seasonal ingredients. There were two dessert options, and they were served at a good pace, allowing us to smoothly enjoy the course. It was a satisfying course with generous portions and delicious food. I would like to visit again in a different season.

I visited Kitahama Sushi Yama with a former colleague who loves sushi for lunch. The restaurant is conveniently located near Kitahama Station and easy to make a reservation online. The cost performance is great with 20 dishes for 12,800 yen including tax. The food and sake were amazing, with creative dishes that paired well with the sake. The sushi wasn't traditional but the quality of the ingredients and the presentation were excellent. The sake selection was also great, with a few options of dry sake that complemented the food perfectly. Overall, I was very satisfied with the experience and felt that it was worth the price.

Today's sushi experience began with plenty of caviar piled on top of scallops. The squid, golden eye snapper, fatty tuna, marinated tuna, and abalone were all delicious, but the highlight was the hot and crispy grilled eel with fragrant leaf pepper instead of powdered pepper. A palate cleanser of watercress rolls preceded the oyster sauce sushi, and the uni ikura bowl, with a hint of uni peeking through, was a delightful finish. Just when it seemed like the meal was over, the eel sushi and smoked kani roll with soy sauce-marinated egg yolk stole the show. The meal was complemented by six unique and delicious sake pairings. Overall, it was a restaurant worth visiting again.

The omakase course (lunch) was ¥12,800 and everything was delicious. My favorites were the scallop with caviar (a powerful combination), the Tokishirazu green tea finish (chef's original), the eel (fluffy), the oysters (impressive), and the negitoro iburigakko roll (genius ending). I would love to visit again when the season changes.

Yamanosan is a great chef who is passionate about research and offers excellent value for money. The variety of dishes is impressive, so make sure to visit on an empty stomach. It's a really good restaurant in my opinion. Around 23 dishes are served in total. The sushi rice had a nice sourness to it this time, and it was very delicious. This has become a restaurant I want to visit at least once a month.

It was really delicious. Everything was excellent. The shrimp with plenty of caviar was incredibly tasty and I will definitely go back for it. The appetizers were all elegant but with strong flavors, and despite being served all at once, I savored each one because they were so delicious. The chawanmushi, made with corn this time, was a nice change and very tasty. (Although everything was delicious and I didn't really need a change of pace.) If you love sushi, you should definitely go. If you're only somewhat into sushi, I don't recommend going. It's a restaurant I want to recommend to important people. I hope it doesn't become too difficult to make a reservation. I will definitely go back.

The sushi rice is slightly firm with a unique cooking style, and the vinegar seasoning is mild and well-balanced. The temperature control is well done, and the creative touches throughout the meal are worth experiencing. I couldn't have alcohol this time because I was driving, but I look forward to enjoying it with drinks next time. ✨

・The storefront has a nice atmosphere, raising expectations.
・Inside the store, there is a faint background music playing, creating a quiet ambiance without any awkward silence.
・The specialty dish, "Shrimp with caviar on top," makes an appearance early on. It's visually appealing and decent.
・As a general comment on sushi, the rice is firm with red vinegar. The taste and texture of the rice may not be recommended for sushi beginners. It's better to go with someone who knows sushi to fully enjoy the experience.
・The fatty tuna comes with warm rice, which was excellent. It might be worth visiting just for this.
・The oysters with plenty of sansho pepper were also outstanding. This might have been the best dish.
・There is a great selection of sake available. The option to choose a beautiful cut glass is a nice touch.
・Overall, the portions are generous. The dessert at the end is almost too much to finish.
・The most concerning aspect was the hospitality. At times, there was even a sense of intimidation. This may simply be a matter of compatibility with the customers. Both the welcome and farewell were handled by a female part-time worker. It might be helpful to consider this when visiting with an important partner.
