The first time I visited was when it was still the old store. It was just so cold, and I thought, "I just want to eat some warm ramen anywhere!" without thinking, I jumped into the shop... The salt ramen soup, with the umami of clams condensed, made me forget about the cold and I was greatly impressed. Since then, whenever I go to Hakodate, it has become a shop I always stop by. According to a friend who went with me the other day, the curry is also really delicious. Cuisine: As the name suggests, they have various types of ramen and curry. And there is also a series that combines both, called "Curry Ramen". I have only tried the salt ramen, but... the salt ramen here is a light salt soup with a pork bone base and a strong clam broth, with firm curly noodles and toppings like clams, tender chashu, and seaweed. It is a ramen with a rich umami flavor yet a refreshing aftertaste, and personally, it was a ramen that hit the spot for me. However, for those who prefer a hearty and rich flavor, this salt ramen may be slightly lacking. The popular dish in the shop is the "Miso Curry Ramen", and I can see that it would be more popular. Atmosphere: Originally, it was a homey atmosphere in the shop. After the relocation, the shop itself has become stylish, but the relaxed atmosphere remains the same. There is no typical tense atmosphere that is common in popular ramen shops. Location: It is close to Hakodate Station, about a 5-minute walk. There are many bars in the area, so it is convenient for a late-night meal. (Of course, they also serve lunch. The lunch menu is reasonably priced.) Customer base: There are many regular customers, so it seems to be mainly locals. It is located off the main street, so tourists may not notice it. Additional note: There are some reviews mentioning that "the ramen service is slow", and indeed, the serving can be slow. However, despite having a fair number of seats, the impression is that both the kitchen and the floor staff are few... so I guess it can't be helped.
