狸ののぐり
3rd visit. This time, celebrating my birthday with my mother. How many times am I going to celebrate my birthday, haha. We visited without a reservation on Sunday at 12 pm, and since the curtain was out, we sat at a table for two. They only serve omakase menu for both lunch and dinner, and they only open for lunch on Sundays. I started with a beer for 500 yen (just for me), a cold Asahi Super Dry in a glass. The appetizer was boiled tsubu in oden style for 3000 yen. The omakase sushi included tuna, bonito, surf clam, red clam, crab, squid, two types of white fish, sea urchin, salmon roe, and anago. This time, the sushi was a bit loose and would come apart when picked up with chopsticks, so I had to eat with my hands. But the ingredients were all fresh and delicious. I had another beer (^^)b. Oh, there wasn't a separate dish included in the course this time. Finally, the usual miso soup with shrimp heads. I also had a chawanmushi for 500 yen, which was filled with shrimp, edamame, shiitake mushrooms, and mitsuba, piping hot. Before, my father used to make chawanmushi for us on New Year's Eve, but now my mother has no intention of making it. In our family, chawanmushi has become something we eat out. I have no intention of making it either, haha. We stayed for less than an hour and paid around 10,000 yen for the two of us. Luckily, we didn't have to wait long to eat this time. It's a restaurant where it's better to make a reservation for both lunch and dinner.
