2023/5/7 First Visit "46th Visit in 2023" Today, I needed to go to JAK to buy additional food for Hana-chan. Originally, the plan for the day was to go to Chitose Rera for a walk with Hana-chan, but... well, why not do both! So, we decided to have lunch in Chitose first. How many times is it now... Finally, I found a parking space and slipped in! Mankichi Ramen Chitose Store 11:30 We arrived a little early, but customers started pouring in and the place quickly became full. We placed our order at the entrance, paid, received a receipt with a number, and then waited at our table. When our number was called, we signaled to the staff and they brought our food. It was our first visit, so I ordered miso ramen and my wife ordered salt ramen. We also ordered a half-fried rice. The staff efficiently served the ramen, which was made systematically. I watched the staff working in good coordination. The ramen arrived - it looked very simple. The half-fried rice seemed like a generous portion. Let's dig in. I took a sip of the soup. Mmm, the taste is simple just like it looks! A good balance of sweetness from the white miso in the soup. The broth had a nice umami flavor. It's a straightforward taste, but that's what makes it good. The noodles were medium-thick curly noodles made with plenty of water. The noodles had a square cross-section. They paired well with the soup and tasted delicious. The ingredients included stir-fried vegetables and boiled vegetables that were slightly seared. This may help reduce cooking time, but it also tasted pretty good. The chashu was well-portioned and decently flavored. The only thing missing was the menma, which was probably omitted to cut costs. It's not necessary, though (laughs). A solid ramen. And it's quite delicious! The fact that it's only 590 yen is a shocking price. I now understand why it's always so crowded that there's no parking space. My wife also tried the salt ramen and seemed very satisfied. I had a taste, and while it was slightly salty, the fragrant soup made the saltiness work. And then there's the half-fried rice. As expected, it was a generous portion. Moreover, this fried rice was quite delicious. It's definitely among the top when it comes to ramen shop fried rice. The fact that you can get a half-fried rice set for under 1,000 yen is truly surprising. I finished the soup completely, while my wife couldn't eat much of the fried rice, so I ended up eating more than 2/3 of it. Truly satisfying, it couldn't have been a better lunch! Later, when I checked, I found out that there are other stores besides the one in Chitose, and I had been to the store in Hokkongo before and enjoyed the food there. Remembering this, I decided to actively revisit this place, unlike the previous store where I realized it had closed without noticing. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal♪
