During the summer vacation, I went on a trip to Eastern Hokkaido. I stayed at a place known for its delicious dinner. The package included one night stay with two meals, so I am not sure about the price. Here is what I had: - Homemade baguette bread. It was not 100% wheat, but I missed what else was in it. However, it was perfect for the meal and delicious. - Amuse-bouche: Green olives and homemade smoked salmon. The olives were plump and the salmon had the perfect amount of salt, stimulating the appetite. - Carrot mousse and consomme jelly with sea urchin. A must-try dish here. The mousse, jelly, and sea urchin combined to create an exquisite flavor. - Surf clam soup with cardamom flavor. Surf clam, pure white with egg flan. The cardamom enveloped the entire dish in a noble aroma. - Sweet shrimp and summer vegetable marinade. Sweet shrimp, zucchini, chicory, sprouts, edible flowers, and Parmesan. The vinegar-marinated shallot and parsley sauce give a summery touch. - Scallop "Foray" style. Scallop topped with cheese and mashed potatoes, baked. The mustard-infused glass deviande sauce pairs well. - Bibai Wagyu beef with Madeira sauce. My first time trying Bibai Wagyu. Moist, medium-cooked, not too greasy, with a fragrant Madeira sauce. The side of panda beans was cute. - Vanilla ice cream with Vin Cotto sauce. A refreshing ice cream was just right after a hearty French meal. The service was attentive, making it a truly delightful dinner.

I went to Abashiri to see the drift ice~☆ While looking for a place to stay, I came across a wonderful inn! It's probably the most expensive in Abashiri... Since I came all the way to distant Abashiri, I decided to indulge myself and made a reservation haha I love Auberge (*^^*) so I chose the best course for the meal. The reviews on Tabelog were quite good, so I had high expectations when I went (^^) At check-in, we decided on the dinner time and went to the designated restaurant at that time (o^^o) There are three restaurants in the building, or rather rooms with dining names, and we dined at a place called "Shou" There was a family with small children in a room nearby (^^) Now, as we sat down, I looked at the paper with the menu for the day! Huh? Weren't we supposed to have the best course? I felt a bit anxious... The courses began~ I was planning to order my favorite Mouton or Champagne, but I decided to choose after starting to eat, so cheers with craft beer! The menu for the day included: ● Homemade bread ● Carrot mousse with sea urchin ● Simmered seafood and seasonal vegetables ● King crab bapool ● Sautéed trout with two sauces ● Sauteed Hokkaido beef fillet and foie gras ● Chef's handmade dessert ● Coffee or tea. The carrot mousse with sea urchin was mentioned in other reviews, so it must be the recommended dish here (^^) It was really delicious, so my expectations for the next dish grew! I ordered a half-size Champagne here~☆ Next was the simmered seafood and seasonal vegetables. The seafood, scallops, and surf clams were delicious, but unfortunately, the simmered vegetables were too salty, which was a waste of the delicious vegetables~^^; Moving on, the king crab arrived. The king crab was a bit dry, but the sauce was delicious. The trout was okay, but the sauce was tasty^^; Finally, the main meat dish (*^^*) The beef was flavorful and delicious, but it would have been better if the foie gras had more presence. Overall... the price was quite high, and I set my expectations based on the Auberges I usually visit, so I expected too much^^; However, the hospitality of the staff was wonderful. Thank you for the meal.

A restaurant at Auberge Kita No Dan Dan with a warm atmosphere, called "Woodie", is one of the three restaurants there. The space is well-designed with dim lighting, a nice view, and quality building materials. They offer a wide variety of dishes with delicious flavors, including a skillfully made omelette. The bread is also refillable, so you can leave feeling satisfied. I visited for breakfast, although it's not listed on Tabelog, so I had to write my review under the lunch section. By the way, the restaurant's name is also mistakenly listed as "洋" instead of "祥". It's funny, isn't it? Maybe the person who wrote it was a bit clumsy? (laughs) "祥" can mean auspicious or soaring, depending on the character used.

The inn, which has been ranked first in a certain travel magazine's "Inns with Great Dinners" review in Hokkaido, seems like a rare opportunity to stay overnight. So, for our wedding anniversary, my wife and I went for lunch. The building was elaborately designed, making it a shame to just leave after lunch. The lunch course costs 3,500 yen and the restaurant has a very calming atmosphere. From the appetizers to the main course and dessert, every dish was meticulously prepared. The use of locally sourced ingredients was evident, especially in the vegetables grown in their own farm. The vegetables were so delicious, highlighting the natural flavors. While Hokkaido is known for its seafood and meat, I have come to realize that the vegetables here are also incredibly tasty. Living in Okhotsk, I had the opportunity to try Okhotsk beef for the first time in the form of a hamburger, and the juiciness and satisfaction were indescribable. The squid rice was also incredibly delicious, with the flavors of the squid infused perfectly. The dessert had a creamy texture that I had never experienced before, and it was truly delicious. The inn's website slogan "Only Hokkaido" is truly fitting, as it allows you to savor the essence of Okhotsk. I am now looking forward to staying overnight and enjoying dinner next time.
