Dinner was served at a set time in a semi-private room. Each dish was carefully prepared and elegant. They brought out a full pot of rice, so I was able to enjoy plenty. There were many elderly guests staying at the inn, so I felt that the dishes were tailored to suit them.

In 2022, this hot spring is located along Route 230 just before entering the hot spring town when heading towards Jozankei from Sapporo. The building used to be old and caught my attention every time I passed by, but now the exterior looks beautiful and the atmosphere inside is lovely. The outdoor bath is built in a rock style and the water is hot. The amount of water is limited because the source is high temperature, but the quality of the water is good with sulfur, sodium, and chloride. The water is sourced directly from the spring.

This is a day trip bathing experience. The hot spring water is constantly flowing and the rock bath is quite hot. So, I soak for a short time and then repeat the process of getting in and out, causing a lot of sweating. The gentle waters of Jozankei provide a wonderful warm feeling from after the bath until the evening. After soaking, I replenish my fluids with mineral water at the resting area. The mildly mineralized soft water is cold and refreshing as it goes down my throat, leaving me feeling refreshed. Despite being a small hot spring inn, it exudes a unique charm and historical atmosphere in the area. It was a very enjoyable experience.

Located at the entrance of Jozankei Onsen, I decided to visit this hot spring inn that caught my eye every time I passed by. The dinner set was quite traditional, but the chicken hot pot and red sea bream foil-baked dish were delicious. The breakfast menu was light and gentle, leaving a good impression, and the rice was tasty, making it easy to eat. The outdoor bath was a bit lukewarm, so I wish it had been hotter...

Tears were flowing and the salt was strong at the hot spring inn in Jozankei. I've stayed at various (budget) inns in Jozankei before, but this time my image was completely overturned by the beautiful Izumi Jozan. I'm sorry, I underestimated it. The indoor bath was what I had in mind for Jozankei hot springs. The room showed signs of aging in some places, but it was spacious and the toilet had been renovated and was clean. Dinner (HP Yu Yu Plan) see image, breakfast see image. Oh, it was a good hot spring. Huh? How was the food? The smoked salmon in the salad was the most delicious. Ehehe.

Ten years ago, I used to go to hot springs and enjoy good food frequently. This time, I visited after a long time for Kyoko-sensei's 64th birthday celebration. The hot spring was good, but... the food was not tasty at all. There used to be exciting dishes before, but I wonder if the head chef has changed. Dinner consisted of sashimi and rice which was okay, but the rest was not delicious. Especially the red snapper foil-baked dish was the worst. It's not red snapper, it's actually cod this time of year. Breakfast was a 500 yen set meal? It was quite sad. Please work hard to improve the food at this inn known for its delicious cuisine. Thank you for the meal.

I was feeling a bit tired both mentally and physically, so I decided to treat myself to a hot spring getaway at this inn. Since I had work the next day, I checked out early without having breakfast. I was happy to find a plan that suited my needs. I arrived at the inn on a Sunday afternoon. The room had a traditional Japanese feel to it, and the exterior and lobby had a nice atmosphere. The private outdoor bath, available for day guests at certain times, could be used by overnight guests starting from 5 PM. The outdoor bath and communal bath were not connected inside, so I had to change into a yukata to move between them. The inn was quite small, so I was able to enjoy the baths without encountering other guests. The dining area had semi-private seating with curtains that blocked the view from the outside. When the meal was ready, they would call your room to let you know. Normally, I am not one to relax in my room, but since I was feeling a bit tired that day, it was nice to have some downtime. When the call came, I headed to the dining area. A kaiseki meal was already prepared, with dishes like hot pot and steamed items that required lighting once seated. The contents and number of dishes may vary depending on the plan, but I opted for the cheapest plan with fewer dishes due to the rumor of large portions. Unfortunately, they only had bottled wine available, no wine by the glass. The food was well-prepared with a mild seasoning that was gentle on the body. While the portion size was sufficient, I felt that the variety was lacking. I arrived at work earlier than planned, so I would like to try their breakfast next time.
