Hotel Emisia located near Shin-Sapporo Station used to be a Sheraton Hotel. The bathing fee is 2,600 yen, which is quite expensive so I didn't have many opportunities to use it. However, I found out that there is a lunch and bathing set for 2,300 yen, so I decided to give it a try. There are two lunch menu options, each worth 1,800 yen, so adding 2,600 yen makes it 4,400 yen. The 2,100 yen discount for the set is significant. Other reviews mention that if you book through a certain travel company, the price can be reduced to 2,000 yen, and with coupons, you can enjoy it for less than 1,500 yen per person. However, since this is a food review site, I will focus on the food. By using this set, you can enter the spa from 11:00 am. We had the meal first as we were hungry. *When using this set, parking is free for 3 hours. The spa is located underground. The dining area is on the same floor as the spa. Although the hotel is quite tall, the lunch buffet with a nice view is not available for this set, instead, you eat in a lounge-like space. The lunch menu on that day included a beef harami set meal (rice, miso soup) and a shrimp stew (served with two pieces of bread and a salad). There were three of us, so we ordered two beef harami sets and one shrimp stew. The lounge space where we dined was surprisingly spacious and did not feel like a dining area. - Beef Harami Set (although it was mentioned to be worth 1,800 yen, it was not listed on the menu) The meat was tender. It went well with the Japanese-style sauce and rice. It was better than expected, but there were no particular surprises. The plenty of bean sprouts soaked up the sauce well, and you could almost eat just the bean sprouts with rice. I actually enjoyed munching on the bean sprouts. The miso soup was decent. It wasn't instant or cheap-tasting, but it wasn't exceptionally delicious either. However, the generous portion was a plus. The ample rice was also satisfying. It filled us up. That's all for the food review. The service was good. When I was reading a book in the lounge after the bath, they brought me water. I won't go into detail, but I felt some thoughtful gestures before and during the meal. The large communal bath was old but clean, and I'm used to slippery floors, so the well-maintained and spacious communal bath with few other customers was very nice. It's peaceful when the bathing fee is high. The sauna was almost like a private room. The cold water bath was extremely cold. The temperature difference was so intense that I thought my heart would jump out, but maybe it's good for you. I enjoyed the sauna and cold water bath for about an hour and a half, and it was the first time in a while that I experienced such a temperature difference. There was also a steam sauna and a room where water sprayed from above, which was quite interesting. Although it's not a hot spring, I was able to enjoy the spa. The cleanliness and the fact that you can use bath towels and face towels as much as you want were also great. The female side had Shiseido's skincare amenities, which my companion was delighted with. I never had the opportunity to consider this type of spa facility, but considering the current situation and the peace of mind of having fewer people, along with the pleasant and safe customer service, this may be a valuable facility where you can enjoy bathing.
