The authentic Chinese food was really delicious! The rice and soup can be refilled, and the homemade menma (bamboo shoots) is incredibly tasty(^^). There is a tatami seating area on the second floor, so you can relax while sitting down! There's parking next door, and there's also additional parking a bit farther away, which is helpful!

I arrived before the opening and parked my car in the lot next to the restaurant. They opened the doors 10 minutes early. We ordered two Euhwa set meals for 1,180 yen each at a four-person table. The food was served quickly, but when I tried it, I found the sweet and sour pork and fried chicken to be overly salty, while the egg dish with sauce was too bland. Neither was to my liking. The char siu and soup, however, were delicious. The rice was unlimited, and overall, the portion sizes were decent, but I felt that 1,180 yen for this meal was slightly expensive. The service was good, and the interior was clean, with a spacious area that seemed suitable for large group gatherings. I was also intrigued by their takeout Chinese bento box priced at 660 yen.

I was taken to a restaurant by a junior colleague. I chose the mini rice bowl set, which included five-spice noodles and Gyeonghwa-don. I was informed by my colleague that I could upgrade the mini bowl to a regular size for an additional 120 yen, but he warned me, "The portions are typically very filling, so I'm not sure if you can finish it..." So, I stuck with the mini bowl. Indeed, it was filling! And the five-spice noodles were delicious! Each ingredient was carefully and well-balanced, making it very tasty! As for the Gyeonghwa-don, the menu claimed, "A taste you won't be able to replicate at home!" and it truly is an addictive flavor. There are many other attractive menu items as well. The place gets super crowded after 12 PM, so it's best to arrive by around 11:30. There's parking available across the street in a flat lot. I'll definitely come back. Thank you for the meal!

I knew there was a restaurant, but I hadn’t had the opportunity to go in until now, so I decided to check it out. The exterior has a nice historical feel to it, and the name "Chinese restaurant" sounds great. Once inside, I found it to be cozier than I expected, and I was warmly greeted and quickly shown to a table. Looking at the menu, everything looked delicious, making it hard to decide. Since it was my first visit, I chose the popular No. 1 dish, the Hong Hua set meal, along with the ladies' set, and we also ordered gyoza and spring rolls. Everything felt like classic, reliable flavors. The Taiwanese noodles included in the set were exactly to my taste. I would definitely like to stop by again if I get the chance.

Today, I had lunch here! I think I ordered the Ladies Set B for 1160 yen, which included curry ramen and the main dish was sautéed vegetables (八宝菜). The curry ramen was really flavorful and delicious! I wasn't able to eat dessert, though… My husband enjoyed some free menma (bamboo shoots) as a snack with his beer, and I had some too! Then, we decided to order my favorite, candied sweet potatoes (大学いも), and they looked absolutely delicious. But the moment I took a bite! It had a very strange taste, and I immediately stopped eating! My husband had the same reaction… Our excitement just plummeted. We left the restaurant without saying anything… Thank you for the meal.

I visited for lunch on my day off. It was quite crowded, and not only was the food delicious, but the portion sizes were also just right.
**Location:** It's at the foot of Katsurazaka and you really need a car to get there. There’s parking for about four cars.
**Atmosphere:** It's a casual place with a standard vibe—neither particularly good nor bad. The restaurant was quite busy, and it seemed they were also taking orders for Uber Eats.
**Speed of Service:** Even though it was busy, it wasn't overly slow. In this region, people often compare it to Ousho, so a bit of a wait is to be expected.
**Taste:** I ordered the Hong Shao Rou set, which included rice, soup, Hong Shao Rou, char siu salad, a slice of orange, and stir-fried egg. Overall, the flavors were great, and it paired well with rice!
**Price:** I think it was around 1060 yen, which is quite reasonable for this set.
**Service:** The service was standard—nothing particularly good or bad. It was nice that you could help yourself to unlimited rice from the rice cooker. If I have the chance, I'll definitely go again.

I went to Katsuza Kaguchi for the first time and had lunch at Kouka. I ordered the Kouka lunch, which consists of a very generous array of small dishes (sweet and sour pork, a piece of fried chicken, a mini salad, crab omelette with salt sauce, and soup) along with rice. I felt very satisfied with this lunch. Overall, the flavor was light, and I experienced no discomfort afterward, which I personally rated highly. At the same time, the ingredients' umami was brought out, giving it a rich depth of flavor that made me almost want to order it again. I also learned that this restaurant's main location is near Misonobashi Omiya in Kyoto City North District, and I'm looking forward to visiting the main store next time!

In Kyoto city, there's a long-established restaurant called "Kouka" located in the northern district of Omiya, operated by a mother-and-child duo. It offers incredible value for money with a self-serve rice station where you can enjoy unlimited rice, all at "casual diner" prices, while serving dishes that could easily compete in a "gourmet Chinese restaurant." The menu is diverse, and I couldn't help but feel excited before even tasting the food. The flavors are not overly adventurous but rather have a universal appeal, like a perfect student who is loved by everyone. The highlights include the Ladies A Set (mini fried rice + sweet and sour pork), Kouka set meal, shrimp in chili sauce, and grilled dumplings (two servings). ✳︎ camera: #ricohgr3 ✳︎

It feels like an authentic Chinese restaurant that locals go to. This time, I had the mini bowl set (Sichuan ramen and Jianghua-don). The Sichuan ramen was slightly spicy and delicious, while the Jianghua-don had crispy vegetables and was well-seasoned, making it tasty. There are 3 parking spaces next to the restaurant, and about 4 more across the street.

Today, I decided to visit this restaurant after work. I parked my car in the parking space next to the restaurant and entered. I sat at an available table and looked over the menu. This restaurant specializes in Chinese cuisine but has a very rich ramen selection. This time, I ordered the "Mini Don Set" (990 yen), which comes with a ramen dish and a mini bowl. I chose "Curry Ramen" for the ramen and "Eika Don" for the mini bowl.
The bowl was topped with char siu (braised pork), seaweed, menma (bamboo shoots), bean sprouts, and chopped green onions, and there was a wonderful aroma of curry coming from the soup. The soup had a thick, curry-like consistency, with an appetizing blend of spices and rich flavors, and it had a strong salty taste that hit just right. The noodles were curled and had a nice, firm texture, pairing well with the soup that clung to them. The char siu was made from pork belly, while the bean sprouts retained their crispness, and the menma had a robust seasoning.
As for the Eika Don, it was a delicious mix of stir-fried pork, cabbage, onions, carrots, black fungus, and egg served over rice. The flavor of the stir-fried vegetables and pork combined with the richness of the egg made it truly addictive. It’s great that they offer such set menus not only during lunch but also on weekday evenings.

I often stop by a local Chinese restaurant that has been loved by the community for a long time whenever I'm nearby. The restaurant has three counter seats and six four-person tables. On this visit, I went for a late lunch, and the place was almost full with just one table available. Today I had the following:
- Ladies Set A (a bowl of rice with eel and twice-cooked pork) for 950 yen.
- Daily lunch special (mini Taiwanese ramen, stir-fried bean sprouts, bang bang chicken, fried chicken, and rice) for 990 yen.
- Gyoza for 350 yen.
- Pudding for 300 yen.
The set menu offers a variety of options at affordable prices with generous portions, but I noticed some price increases since my last visit, and the portions seemed slightly smaller this time. The flavors felt richer, which was tasty in its own way, but it was a bit different from what I remembered. I always finish my meal with the wonderfully nostalgic homemade pudding, but it felt like its smoothness had changed a bit too. Regardless, it was still delicious. Thank you for the meal! I’ll definitely come again.

I visited a high-level town Chinese restaurant called "Kouka" (the location is listed as "Kouka"). I had the Kouka rice bowl, which was stir-fried with onions, carrots, bamboo shoots, cabbage, green onions, wood ear mushrooms, eggs, and pork, all seasoned beautifully – it was delicious. I also tried the seafood ramen, which I ordered in a half portion. It had a light salted broth and featured shrimp tempura and crispy noodles that were simply amazing. There was also some kind of salted pork, which had a unique flavor reminiscent of sea snails – a delightful accent that I'd love to enjoy with some sake. Even the half portion of noodles was very satisfying. I'm excited to discover more dishes at this great town Chinese restaurant, so I'll definitely be back! Thank you for the wonderful meal!

In Rokushi, the Chinese restaurant Kouka has closed down, and a new restaurant called Kouka has opened. Only the kanji of the name has changed, right? The menu has also undergone some slight changes. There are parking spaces for three cars next to the restaurant and several more across the street.
Today’s lunch, as usual, is the mini rice bowl set with curry ramen and mini Kouka bowl for ¥990. Taiwanese ramen and Sichuan ramen have also been added for an extra ¥150. The curry ramen has a slightly spicy, thick sauce, just like always! The mini Kouka bowl, which includes vegetables and egg, still tastes great, but the portion size seems to have decreased.

This is a Chinese restaurant in Katsura. It has a parking lot, making it easy to access. It's a Chinese-style diner with a wide variety of dishes, making it fun to choose what to eat. They also offer many different single dishes. On this day, I visited around 2 PM after a visit to Kameoka for stamp collecting. There was one group ahead of me and two groups behind. They also do takeout. I enjoyed a satisfying and filling lunch that matched my taste. Thank you for the meal!

Tantanmen - 850 yen, limited to 10 servings a day. The soup is rich with sesame flavor and generously spiced with chili. Tempted by the limited availability, I ended up ordering it. After taking a sip of the soup, I thought, "Wow, this is delicious!" The sesame paste is thick and the spiciness is strong, which is a big plus! The noodles are flat, but since this isn't a ramen shop, the cooking might not be perfect... However, the noodles are firm, and I think this tantanmen falls into the delicious category. Breaking the egg into the bowl and mixing it with the noodles and sesame soup was the best! The refreshing sensation when stepping outside after eating something spicy is just amazing. As usual, there’s a line for lunch sets, but there’s a steady flow of customers coming and going. It’s a beloved local Chinese restaurant. Next time, I want to try the liver and garlic chives. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal!

【Shrimp Chili Set Meal - 920 yen】 Shrimp chili, two pieces of fried chicken, one slice of char siu, a Tianjin egg, spicy dipping oil, soup, and unlimited rice refills! For lunch, you can enjoy a wide variety of dishes and leave feeling completely satisfied! I visited "Kouka," a place I've been curious about for a while. There's usually a crowd during lunch, and I quickly understood why after looking at the menu! Isn't this volume amazing? The daily special set meal, for instance, includes a mini ramen and various other dishes for under 1000 yen. Plus, the unlimited rice refills mean you can enjoy delicious Chinese food to your heart's content during lunch! Each menu item might not stand out exceptionally, but they're consistently delicious. There's even a rice refill corner, and the pickled bamboo shoots are quite tasty. It feels like a beloved local Chinese restaurant, as people keep coming in during lunchtime. The value for money is exceptional! I had a very satisfying lunch. Next, I would love to try the limited spicy sesame noodle! Thank you, Kouka!

There is a popular casual Chinese restaurant called Kōka in Kamigatsukawa. We visited on a Sunday during the Golden Week with our family of three. I ordered the mini bowl set with ramen and a half bowl for 920 yen, my wife chose the daily lunch special for 920 yen, and my daughter had a half serving of soy sauce ramen for 400 yen. The mini bowl set came with curry ramen and fried rice, while the daily special included mini Taiwanese ramen, stir-fried vegetables, shrimp mayonnaise, fried gyoza, rice, and dessert, making it quite a good deal. Plus, rice refills are free. The curry ramen tasted like a salt-based ramen with a curry flavor, and my wife’s Taiwanese ramen had a mild spiciness that was easy to eat. My daughter enjoyed her soy sauce ramen as well, happily eating it all. There are various menu options available, and they also offer takeout. I think this neighborhood Chinese restaurant is very handy to have nearby.

This is 920 yen. The taste is also delicious. It’s more geared towards the general public rather than being authentic Chinese cuisine. Since I am not good with spicy food, I find the shrimp chili here to have just the right level of seasoning. The lunch special of the day comes with ramen and a side dish, which is very satisfying. There is a parking lot, so it’s convenient.

I decided to try the weekday限定 ladies' set. I chose the fried soba, but it wasn't to my liking. My husband also took a bite and agreed, saying it's tasty, but the fried soba from a different restaurant is better. I regretted not sticking to my usual choice. However, I'm completely full now.

I visited the Chinese restaurant "Kouka Keizaka" located in Kyoto City. I had a craving for Chinese food during the day, and as I was driving, I noticed a sign for the restaurant, so I decided to stop in. The parking lot is conveniently located next to the restaurant, making it easy to enter. Upon entering, the staff immediately conducted a temperature check, which made me feel reassured about their COVID-19 precautions.
I was torn between the daily special and the popular No. 1 dish, the Kouka Set Meal, but I ultimately chose the Kouka Set Meal, which is the most popular item. When I tried it, I was impressed by the generous portion size. The sweet and sour pork was juicy and delicious, and the fried chicken was crispy and incredibly tasty. I would definitely like to visit this restaurant again the next time I'm in the area. Thank you for the meal!
