JR Obihiro Station is a 5-minute drive away. This is a popular yakiniku restaurant along the national highway, which is the second branch of a well-known restaurant in Oki Town. The stylish interior, smokeless roasters, and reasonable prices make it easy to drop by casually. They also have private rooms, and the tables are separated, providing a private space, which is much appreciated in this era. I visited for lunch on a Saturday. I arrived around 12:30 pm, and the place was quite busy. However, I was seated promptly without having to wait. It had been a while since my last visit, so I had a hard time deciding on my order. I opted for the Cold Noodles & Bibimbap Set for 1,080 yen. Despite being at a yakiniku restaurant, I chose something other than grilled meat. The cold noodles were delicious. The combination of umami and acidity was just right, making it very appetizing. The noodles had a good texture and were smooth yet chewy. Personally, I think this is one of the best cold noodles in Tokachi. The bibimbap was also consistently delicious. I was very satisfied!

Obihiro is known for its yakiniku restaurants, but recently many all-you-can-eat places have closed due to the pandemic. It can be difficult for families to dine at yakiniku restaurants in the city center. But don't worry! There is Daijuen! It is a budget-friendly restaurant with a large parking lot and can accommodate many people. They offer a variety of lunch options, including Sagari lunch for 1600 yen, Genghis Khan lunch for 1200 yen, and Sundubu lunch for 850 yen. The lunch sets come with soup, pickles, and salad, and you can get extra rice for free. The portions are generous, with about 200g of meat (around 8 slices) per serving, so you will definitely be satisfied. The Sundubu comes in a Bibimbap container and is also very filling. Enjoy a satisfying meal at Daijuen!

Today, I originally planned to visit the Michinoeki (roadside station) in Nakasato and a soba noodle restaurant, but they are closed until the 6th. I called several restaurants in Oki, but they were all closed. I confirmed that the Michinoeki was closed, so I returned to Obihiro and visited a yakiniku (grilled meat) restaurant, Daizyu En. There were no customers when I arrived at 11:30 am, but 5-6 groups came in later. They have renewed their lunch menu. I ordered the Lunch Yakiniku Volume Set (100g of sagari and 100g of lamb) with extra rice for 1,280 yen (excluding tax) and the Special Lamb Yakiniku and half portion of Morioka cold noodles (I forgot the price). The lamb yakiniku was thick, tender, with a good amount of marbling, no odor, and very delicious. The sauce had a strong garlic flavor that paired well with the meat. I will definitely come back to this yakiniku restaurant again. Thank you for the meal.

This is a restaurant I often go to when I want to have yakiniku for lunch. Having yakiniku alone in the middle of the day is the best. I usually order the Daijyuen Kalbi set with extra beef intestines. They also give you extra rice and a salad, so you'll be full. Their ramen dishes are also delicious. It's great to have a solo yakiniku meal outside of regular lunch hours. The quality of the meat is probably average, but the cost performance is good.

Today, I finished work early so I went to a yakiniku restaurant called Daijuen for dinner. It was around 4 pm and there were a few customers already there. I forgot to take some photos, sorry about that. We ordered Sagari for 740 yen, Tan Shio for 880 yen, Special Thick-cut Lamb Shioyaki for 850 yen, Hormone Assortment for 700 yen, Chijimi for 680 yen, Sundubu for 580 yen, and Half-size Naengmyeon for 550 yen (all prices excluding tax). The meat was delicious and flavorful. The lamb was big so we had to cut it with scissors. We were full and satisfied. Thank you for the meal!

I visited Yakiniku Daijuen in Obihiro! I might be a regular for lunch there, but I've never been there at night. Three of us went to the restaurant, which is quite popular among the yakiniku places in Obihiro. They offer various lunch sets, ramen, and rice bowls on their menu. The main store in Taiiku-cho is famous, and they also have a branch in Onjo. There were a lot of cars parked outside the restaurant today. When we entered, we were asked if we preferred a table or a sunken kotatsu seating. We chose a table this time. I ordered the usual Yakiniku Volume Set for 1,280 yen. Rice is free, and you can choose the size - I went for a medium today. The other two ordered the Daijuen Set and Spicy Ramen Set. The food started arriving within 5 minutes, on large trays with big plates. It's always a challenge to fit everything on the table (laughs). With four people, it's almost impossible. Anyway, time to dig in! My set included Sagari, Genghis Khan Salad, Egg Soup, Rice, and a small portion of Kimchi. It was a satisfying lunch. The Sagari was delicious - tender with a nice chew, and the sweetness and juiciness of the meat were amazing. Genghis Khan was also good, and it didn't have a strong smell. I had to adjust the rice portion as I felt it was running out. The meat was so tasty that it disappeared quickly. It was a satisfying lunch. I wonder when I'll be able to come back for dinner. Today, I wasn't feeling well and felt like I might be catching a cold, so after having a nutritious bento for lunch, I went to Yakiniku Daijyu-en Obihiro branch around 2 pm. It had been a long time since I last visited Daijyu-en. The restaurant was clean, spacious, and relaxing. I ordered the B set for 1,580 yen (excluding tax) with extra rice. It included Kalbi, Sagari, and Jingisukan each 50 grams. Also, Mino and Hormone each 30 grams, so there was plenty of meat. The meat was well-aged, tender, and delicious with a good amount of marbling. The sauce was quite garlicky and gave me an energy boost. I hope I don't catch a cold. Unlike restaurants that focus on appearance, this place serves really tasty meat. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Pork Kimchi Set

This time, I had yakiniku for takeout! I ordered thick-cut salted lamb, sagari, small intestine, and beef tripe, and enjoyed the yakiniku experience at home. The salted lamb had just the right amount of oil and was very tender and delicious.

This is a yakiniku restaurant located near the Manabe Garden on National Route 236. I visited during lunchtime. The interior of the restaurant is divided into separate sections for each table, creating a calm atmosphere. I ordered the "Half Pork Bowl + Half Yukkejang Ramen for 850 yen," which is a great value lunch option. The pork in the bowl was generous in portion and coated in a rich sauce with sesame seeds. The Yukkejang Ramen had a good level of spiciness and paired well with the noodles. It was spicy but delicious enough to finish until the last drop. I would like to try their yakiniku next time. I stopped for lunch before heading to Hiroo Town! I searched for a place to eat before getting on the highway, as there are restaurants in Taiju Town but I would probably arrive after 2 PM. The Yukkejang Ramen had a good portion, but it was a bit bland? Lacking richness? I thought this might be the intended taste, but adding the Gochujang on the table increased the spiciness and made it delicious.

Today is another takeout day! Even though I thought I had tried all the meat menu items through takeout, I realized I hadn't had the beef tripe! So I called the restaurant and ordered 4 servings of beef tripe and 2 servings of sauce. The customer service at the register was not particularly friendly, but it was not a problem! (^-^) Now, it's time to grill at home! The restaurant uses a roaster, but I prefer charcoal grilling! Some people prefer charcoal grilling, but I think roasting is the best. Charcoal grilling is the ultimate way to cook meat, even better than teppanyaki. But at home, I use charcoal because it's easier to prepare and clean up. I also have a gas roaster, but I always end up using charcoal! Well, as expected, it's a safe bet! The beef tripe is not good, too chewy! However, the beef intestines are exceptionally delicious, probably the second best in Hokkaido! That's just my personal opinion!

This is the first time this year that I've made charcoal! I work as a wholesaler for meat and fish, but I don't usually deal with our own products! So, I search for good quality ingredients! I even prefer ingredients that are tastier than our own products! However, it's not easy to find them! But the tripe here is delicious! My favorite tripe is from a yakiniku restaurant called Toshio in Kitami City, but the tripe here is also very good! Among the yakiniku restaurants in Tokachi, this place stands out for its tripe! If you're debating between eating tripe or honeycomb tripe at a yakiniku restaurant in Tokachi, definitely go for the tripe here! The tripe here is just so delicious! I also tried the grilled beef intestines (geara) this time because I had a delicious one at a yakiniku restaurant in Kitami the other day! It wasn't good! (-_-;) It seems that the tripe here is the best choice! By the way, the beef tongue is also decent here! However, while the quality of the tripe is good, the marinade sauce is not that great! It may be because the sauce at Toshio is delicious, so it's all relative.
