I left Haneda in the evening and arrived in Kushiro around 20:00. After a 1.5-hour drive by rental car, I checked into a pension in town before heading to the restaurant. The banquet started around 7:00, but the food had already cooled by then. It was clear that there was no sense of the Akan-Mashu Lake area or the Kushiro area in the dishes served. There was no love or passion evident in the food. It's tough for foodies when they can't choose the restaurant for business trips!

It seems that "Momokiriya" has become "Hyakueimon". It is a newly opened restaurant, but in reality, it seems that the name was changed due to a major renovation of the interior. I entered on Sunday at 6 o'clock, so there were no other customers. It is quite valuable for a restaurant that is open on Sundays during the off-season. I ordered grilled chicken and grilled mackerel. The chicken was delicious. The mackerel was mentioned on a TV show called "SMAPxSMAP". It seems that they use "Kushisaba 'Sensaba' dried mackerel" from Kushinosuke in Kushiro, which was featured on SMAPxSMAP Bistro Map. Since it is a dried mackerel, it is quite salty. This was also delicious. A hit, I guess. Next, I added yukhoe. As you may know, there are restrictions on the cooking method of yukhoe due to O157 food poisoning. It seems that they cooked it first, froze it, and then served it. It was quite cold and slightly watery. This was disappointing. I also added an omelette with sea bream and scallops. As shown in the photo, the cooking was uneven, with the right side being well-cooked and the left side being slightly undercooked. It was okay, but you can hardly taste the sea bream and scallops. Hmm. It gave me the impression of a valuable izakaya open on Sundays, also serving set meals.
