Welcome! In November 2014, in a corner of a mixed-use building on Nakamichi, which I call the drinking street of Yoichi Town in Yoichi District (just my own way of saying it), there are cats everywhere around the building where Q-chan is located. Despite being an old building, the inside of the store feels bright and newly renovated, with plenty of warmth from the wood used. Looking at the exterior photos again, I noticed that even the noren curtain is different, so I asked Kaa-san if I got the location wrong. I forgot what I asked, so let's just say they renovated it. Since it's Yoichi, let's forgive them with a Kyoho grape sour. Talking to Kaa-san, suddenly Oto-san greets us from the back door, saying good evening. Later, I found out that it was actually the bathroom. The conversation with the couple was enjoyable, like a comedy duo, they seemed to be having a good time. I vaguely remembered something about Eiji-san, so I called to have someone else take over, which was a relief. The atmosphere lightened up, and on the wall, there were only recommended items and an old poster of "Rubilopossa," making it look clean. At 6 pm, the regular customers were already at their usual spot, drinking their usual sake. Before I knew it, "guden guden" continued, with regular customers coming in one after another, also enjoying their usual sake and oden. As Eiji-san said, "You must eat oden!" and it was indeed popular among the regulars. Today, I ordered "arekore sore" with three items: daikon mochi, beef tendon, and "tororo kombu." They even put tororo kombu on top for me. The dashi was so clear, and the oden with miso was just as I had heard, but it was so gentle and delicious. The daikon was soft and soaked in the broth, and the beef tendon was springy and flavorful. The mochi in the pouch was chewy. Although it wasn't miso-flavored, this was the most popular dish in the store. I also ordered two skewers each of grilled pork sagari and red meat, which were full of umami flavor. In the middle of eating, they brought out a new item, which was simply skewered and bursting with flavor. In no time, the place went from having only one person to being fully booked with seven people. This is the only place in the building that is open, which is why people are drawn in to enjoy good food while having fun conversations with the couple. It seems like a great way to end the day. "I want to see your face, so come visit with Eiji-san next time!" Thank you for the delicious meal.
