The top plan for the memorial service combining my grandmother's 17th anniversary and my uncle's 3rd anniversary included a sashimi platter, abalone and Inca awakening, Burgundy-style grilled tilefish with sea urchin, deep-fried dried sand lance, grilled white asparagus with foie gras sauce, chawanmushi with crab, Hokkaido beef grill, nigiri sushi, clear soup, and a rich baked pudding made with Yamanaka Ranch milk. Thank you for the feast.

The room had an open-air hot spring bath. It was spacious and relaxing. I tried the massage chair, but it was too strong, so I stopped halfway. There is a bird feeding area on the terrace where you can observe wild birds if you're lucky. The open-air bath in the room is a bit scary at night because the forest is nearby and there are no lights on the mountain side. The hotel's wifi allows you to check the crowdedness of the public bath on your phone. It said "available," but when I went, it was crowded with women who seemed to be from the hotel's fitness class. It was noisy, and I couldn't relax. The dinner was chaotic with a group talking loudly without masks, and the staff didn't intervene. The "Shiribeshi Kotori Yard" dish was delicious, but the portion sizes were small, and I ended up buying snacks at the shop to eat in my room later. The breakfast buffet had people not wearing masks or gloves while serving themselves, and the staff didn't say anything. The local dish, Ankake Yakisoba, was good, but it ran out quickly, and some customers were upset. Overall, I felt that the cost performance was poor compared to what I paid, and the infection control measures were not thorough, which was disappointing.

On New Year's Day, I visited a hot spring inn and relaxed by soaking in the hot spring and having dinner. This hot spring inn has a bit of history to it, but it has been renovated as needed, so it doesn't feel run-down. For dinner, I enjoyed monkfish hot pot, fillet steak, and flounder and scallops with balsamic sauce, all of which were delicious. They also offer a wine set for 1000 yen, which includes sparkling, red, and white wines, making it a great deal! The water quality at Asasagawa Onsen was also good, and I was able to warm up nicely. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

Stayed at a hotel through GoTo. Had dinner at the restaurant with a course menu consisting of three appetizers (herring wrapped in kelp, red tea duck with sansho pepper, chilled tofu with shrimp sauce), assorted sashimi, Nanjing crystal steamed dish, seafood chowder, simmered miso beef tri-tip, sushi, and dessert. The seafood chowder and the simmered beef were delicious. Breakfast was average. Stayed with my husband and the room came with a private outdoor bath, which was spacious and clean. One concern was that social distancing was not well maintained in the restaurant. It was crowded with guests and the tables were close together.

The dinner was delicious with a variety of dishes including appetizers, sashimi, grilled fish, fried tofu, soup, rice, pickles, and dessert (almond jelly). Breakfast was a buffet. In the evening, I tried a lactobacillus smoothie at the hotel drink corner, but it was not very tasty. The hotel also sold a powdered version which may have been the reason. After dinner, there was live piano music in the lobby. The open-air bath felt like bathing in the mountains and was very relaxing.

Meeting. We usually have lunch menus, including Japanese, Western, and Chinese, but this time we tried something different. When it comes to Otaru, it's ankake yakisoba! I wonder how the hotel's ankake yakisoba tastes. I ordered the seafood ankake yakisoba with salt flavor, which came with seaweed soup and pickles. It was full of seafood like shrimp, squid, scallops, and surf clams, as well as plenty of vegetables and wood ear mushrooms. The salt flavor was not just simple saltiness, but had a rich umami taste. It was very delicious. I usually prefer soy sauce flavor, but this salt flavor was quite impressive. It was nothing like the image of Otaru's ankake yakisoba for town revitalization. The so-called local hotel. Neither good nor bad, but lacks attention to detail. No course available for same-day reservations. Ended up ordering a la carte. It's a mix of Western and Chinese cuisine. The Western dishes were okay, but the Chinese dishes were just average. The hamburger and chicken sauté were delicious. I was enjoying the salad when they brought out a dish of shredded pork with green peppers (lol). More dishes arrived innocently. Even if there was no ill intent, not thinking ahead can sometimes be a sin. However, when I ordered a 5000 yen bottle of sparkling wine, they only served it once and then it was self-service. No reaction even when pouring in front of the staff. It seems like it's their way of doing things, maybe because it's a rural area. I didn't have high expectations, but if that's the case, they shouldn't charge a service fee and should offer cheaper wine instead. The sparkling wine was probably a basic brand, so the cost price would be in the 1000 yen range.

The season has become lovely. The well-maintained gardens along the road were beautiful. I got a seat by the garden for a lunch meeting. This time it was a Western-style lunch. This month's special seems to be soup curry. The meal included salad, soup curry, rice, lassi, three types of mini cakes, and coffee. The soup curry had tender chicken but was a bit too salty. It might be a bit challenging for the elderly guests at this hotel. The curry itself was delicious though. The lassi was extremely sweet, maybe it's the Hokkaido style with rich flavors. The cakes were all tasty, made by a skilled pastry chef. This place is known for its relaxed lunch atmosphere for locals. Thank you for the meal.

It's located on the left side towards Asari Onsen when you turn on Route 5 and go up a bit. It seems to have been built during the bubble era. This hotel is quite nice. It has a fitness center and a day spa, so there are many guests besides those staying overnight. The restaurant has large windows facing the terrace, making it perfect for enjoying lunch while looking outside. I had a meeting here this day. Unfortunately, the ladies took over the window seats (laughs). The lunch menu offers a variety of options including Western, Chinese, and Japanese cuisine for 1300 yen (tax included), with coffee ordered separately for the Japanese set. I chose the Japanese set - tempura, grilled fish (possibly gindara), tamagoyaki, salad, sashimi with salmon, octopus, and sweet shrimp, chilled tororo (grated yam) with nameko mushrooms, and rice. Dessert was apple sherbet. It was a bit disappointing that there was no soup, but everything was delicious. The atmosphere was calm and cozy, not too crowded. The entrance was also very impressive. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience.

This is our regular trip ♬︎ [Autumn Edition] I sometimes go on trips on a whim or if I find a cheap tour package for spring and autumn. Each time, I leave the destination and schedule up to chance! If you let me know early, I'll adjust accordingly ♬︎ This time, I received a special gift from a special person and it made the trip even more special. We enjoyed lunch and souvenir shopping in Otaru before taking a bus to the hotel! I don't like walking, so I received some tough love and encouragement (๑¯ロ¯๑) The hotel room was clean and spacious... it was great! Even though we were in Otaru, we decided to have dinner at the hotel to avoid getting tired from moving around. The attentive service helped me forget about my usual hectic life and relax for a while...♪*゚ They even have "late-night ramen" here (,,>᎑<,,)ウシシ...♡ We enjoyed a variety of menu options for breakfast as well. Another successful annual trip completed! (。•̀ᴗ-)و ̑̑✧

I often use the resort hotel Classe in Asarigawa Onsen for lunch, and this time I had the Chinese lunch. Classe is known for its Chinese cuisine, and their ankake yakisoba is delicious. However, this time I had the lunch set which included salad, drinks, pickled vegetables, and karaage for 1,300 yen including tax. The main dish of the day was a spicy stir-fry of seafood and vegetables, but it didn't quite suit my taste. The companion ordered the ankake rice with five ingredients which was more to my liking. It's a shame that the prices seem to be going up and it's not as affordable as before. Comparing it to similar lunches in Sapporo, it's about the same level.

Diary continuation♪ Hokkaido family trip edition♪ 2016'10/22 (Sat) 8:30 PM Check-in Asahiyama Zoo → Otaru Canal → Hotel stay 19:30 Tonight's accommodation is... here at "Asari Classe Hotel". As soon as you enter, it has a chic orange dimly lit atmosphere!! (゚∀゚) lol Yes! It's October, so there are pumpkins decorated all over the place. We were guided to our room, which is a corner room on the 5th floor, room 2501 with connecting rooms. Room arrangement: A room for my husband, B room for my son, daughter, and me. The view from the window is the ski lift and ski slope that has stopped for the autumn, with skiers staying here in the winter. We arrived late, so we hurried to the restaurant. Tonight's dinner menu at 19:45: First, we ordered local wine (Otaru red) to toast to a successful day. In the middle, we ordered local white wine (Otaru white) for a continued happiness toast. - Original vegetable first petite: Tomato, green beans, radish, arugula, mizuna, mash salad, etc... Fresh with French dressing. - Assorted sashimi: Scallop, sweet shrimp, sea bream, crab claw, red tuna. - Colorful vegetable manju with diced yuba: Inside the round manju are potatoes, carrots, shiitake mushrooms, fu, yuba, and green onions. When broken, the sweet root vegetables, crispy yuba, and fu are an accent. - Shiribeshi Cotriard HoRo stew: A slightly sweet and robust seafood cream stew in a hot pot. - Main dish "a:b:c" choice: a: Beef Puf Pulignon a la Parlone: Tender red wine stewed beef triangle belly with a punchy demi-glace sauce. b: Pan-fried local seafood: What kind of fish is it? I spent a relaxing time at Asarigawa Onsen. In the evening, I enjoyed a course meal at the hotel, but there was so much food that I couldn't even make it to the sushi at the end. It was a bit too much!笑

The breakfast venue here is open from 6:30. When we checked in, the front desk explained, "The breakfast venue gets crowded between 7:00 and 8:00." So, my wife and I went at 6:30. It seems like everyone else is early too. It was quite crowded. Like everywhere else, it's a buffet style. I had grilled salted salmon (anything that looks delicious tastes delicious), simmered fish, salted squid with vegetable salad, miso soup with nameko mushrooms, and rolled omelette (I forgot the names of the other two side dishes). Overall, the food was of high quality and delicious. Thank you for the meal.

The second son finished his club activities at 7:00 PM, went back to his lodging, chatted for a bit, and checked into the Asari Classe Hotel at 8:30 PM. His wife went for a massage while he enjoyed a hot spring bath. At 9:20 PM, they entered the restaurant "Akane" where there were already 5 other customers. Everyone was eating ramen. They sat at the counter and ordered a cold Asahi beer for ¥570, which was delicious. Still feeling a bit peckish, they also ordered some fresh pickled cabbage for ¥220. After 10:00 PM, more customers came in and ordered curry rice and fried octopus, eating heartily. The owner remarked, "That must be their dinner for tonight." They couldn't keep up with that pace. After drinking four beer mugs, they returned to their room. It was a satisfying meal.

I went on a short trip to Otaru. I considered staying along the canal in Otaru, but I wanted to relax in a hot spring after a long time, so I chose this place. It's a Western-style room. I feel more relaxed in a Japanese-style room, but I considered the budget this time. I will be going out to the city of Otaru for dinner, so I will only have breakfast here. The dining area is on the second floor, but it was announced to go up from the first floor, so I found it easily. The venue is spacious. There are both Japanese and Western dishes, as well as bread and rice. There seems to be everything you could want. Since I am in a coastal city, I chose dishes with a sea theme. Although the origin of the ingredients is not clearly stated, it may not be local produce. Matsushima pickles, salted squid, and bamboo leaf kamaboko. When they said it was Classe's special curry, I ended up eating curry in the morning. Indeed, it has a delicious taste that is not like commercial ingredients. The herring and tarako made the rice go down smoothly! There was also mushroom miso next to the rice porridge. There were no standout items, but there were also some unusual items that you don't see often, and considering the price, it was a satisfying breakfast.

I went to a place called Asari for lunch, where the cherry blossoms were blooming beautifully. It's a great spot during the autumn foliage season as well. Even though it was a weekday, there were still quite a few people enjoying lunch there. I had a hard time deciding on what to order because everything on the menu looked delicious. Eventually, I settled on the scallop, crab, and shrimp with saffron sauce dish, which cost around 2500 yen. I was a bit hungry, so I asked for a smaller portion of the dish without changing the price. The saffron sauce was a beautiful yellow color and paired perfectly with the seafood. It was both visually appealing and appetizing. I finished the dish in no time and was completely satisfied. The crab fried rice was subtly flavored, but it complemented the rich saffron sauce well. There was one female staff member who was very friendly and provided excellent service. It's rare to find such good service these days, so her presence made me want to visit again. The ambiance of the hotel was also lovely, so I will definitely return for a leisurely lunch in the future.
