This shop is located in Bikuni-cho, Shakotan-gun, Hokkaido. The sea urchin season has arrived! When it comes to Hokkaido's sea urchin, the Shakotan Peninsula is the place to go! Without hesitation, I headed to Shakotan. I passed through Yoichi, Kyohei, and finally arrived in Bikuni-cho. I saw a sign that caught my attention, so I decided to visit. Inside, it was renovated from a private house and had a new, clean feel. The menu was limited, with only a 3-color sea urchin bowl (sea urchin + salmon roe, scallop, shrimp) available. I was a little worried as I waited, but when the bowl arrived, I was surprised! The plate was large, and there was so much sea urchin piled on top that you couldn't see the rice underneath. The sea urchin wasn't just lightly sprinkled, it was stacked high. For 3,500 yen, the amount of sea urchin was amazing, and the cost performance of this shop is great. After paying, I was given a canned coffee. I felt like I got a really good deal. A young person was cooking alone, and I really hope they do well.

For those who want to eat the Uni Don from Shikotsu but find it too far to go all the way to Cape Kamui, I recommend a restaurant about a 2-hour drive from Sapporo. They have a variety of soba dishes on the menu, so this time I tried the Uni Don with soba. It's been a while since I had soba, and it was delicious, making me think, "Ah, this is good." The Uni Don was also tasty, with warm rice being gentle on the stomach and a satisfying portion for the price. They kindly accommodated a special request for a salmon-only seafood bowl from my companion, which we appreciated. The atmosphere of the restaurant is calm and relaxing, making it a nice place to visit for a leisurely drive.

The restaurant is located slightly off National Route 229, with parking space for 3 cars in front of the store. Access by car is not great. Today, they only had sea urchin (Ezo Murasaki) available, not Ezo Bafun. I had the sea urchin bowl and soba set for 3,900 yen. The sea urchin was fresh and had a refined taste typical of Shakotan, though not as rich as Ezo Bafun. It was much tastier than the famous sushi restaurant in Tsukiji. The portion size was similar to Murakami in Hakodate. The soba, made with 50% buckwheat flour, was not included in the evaluation. The sea urchin bowl was excellent. However, they should consider the following points, including expanding the parking lot: - The rice is served hot, which causes the sea urchin to melt quickly. - There is no soy sauce dish, making it difficult to dissolve the wasabi. - There are no soup options, which may be tough for older customers.
