Because it was warm outside, we were thinking of having a barbecue, but cleaning up would be a hassle, so why not go out for yakiniku instead? We were considering going to our usual spot, but it turned out to be temporarily closed. There's GAJA nearby, but what about going to Heiwaen? We called and unfortunately, it was crowded. So, we decided to try Gojoen, which we had been curious about. We arrived without a reservation and luckily, there was space available! I heard rumors that it's expensive, but when I looked at the menu, I was surprised to find that it was quite affordable. Since we were on a budget, we didn't order the premium cuts of meat. We got two servings of Genghis Khan and one serving each of sagari, horumon, and tongue. This is our usual lineup. I thought about ordering the namul... probably just a small plate of bean sprout namul, right? But when it arrived, I was shocked by the portion size. The tongue for 610 yen was so substantial! Other yakiniku places might charge around 900 yen for this. The best part was definitely the namul. I thought it would be just bean sprouts, but it turned out to be four different kinds of namul, and the plate was packed full. It was incredibly delicious. I asked my companion if I could have just one more serving, and I also ordered a highball. The meat, especially the horumon, was seasoned perfectly! I definitely want to eat here again. The quality of the meat was excellent, the portions were generous, and I left feeling satisfied. I will definitely be coming back! If I had to point out one thing, it would be that the grill or hot plate is a bit small, so it might be a bit cramped if you're cooking for three or more people. But it was no problem for the two of us, and the heat from the charcoal was strong, so the meat cooked quickly. I will be back again!
