I had been passing by this shop many times and was curious about it, but I never had the chance to go in. Today, during dinner time, I passed by again and decided to pay a visit. I parked my car in the middle of the gravel in front of the store and entered. The interior of the store was surprisingly spacious, with counter seats on the left as you enter, and the kitchen in the back. There were many raised tatami seating areas further back. I sat at the counter and looked at the menu. I usually order the "tempura soba," but today I decided to try the "oyako tendon." In less than 10 minutes, my soba arrived. The presentation was sloppy. I took a sip of the broth...it was overly salty as it looked. The soba noodles were...almost transparent and lacked any soba flavor. The shrimp tempura was overcooked and tough. It's a shame that they are trying their best in such a remote location, I hope they don't go out of business. If only the soba had more flavor...if only the shrimp tempura was half-cooked...if only the broth was...oh well.
