After finishing a meeting in Kawamuko, I visited a nearby shop at 11 am as requested by a neighbor to pick up some items. I also bought some sablé cookies and donuts. Oops! I forgot my cooler box, but they packed the cake with plenty of ice packs for me haha. When I returned home, I delivered the cake to my neighbor, who immediately devoured it. She said, "It's delicious! Please run errands for me again next month! ♡" The Ezo Rissu sablé cookies and cheese donuts were a treat! Thank you! (^^)v

The "Hiratori Series" is coming to an end. A middle-aged man who isn't particularly fond of sweets finally decided to try some. There is a small pastry shop on the main street of Hiratori town that sells about 10 types of homemade cakes, including shortcakes, and cookies. Even though I had a hearty lunch, I bought some sweets and had them as a snack at 3 o'clock. The pudding comes in a cute jar, with a subtly sweet and moist texture and a hint of caramel at the bottom. The cream puff has sun-dried tomatoes embedded in the cream. It was a delicious treat.

I tried the lemonade this time since the blueberry smoothie was sold out again. The lemonade cost 350 yen and was made with homemade lemon pickles, giving it a strong sour taste that felt refreshing. It was slightly bitter and delicious. The chocolate banana cake, also priced at 350 yen, had chocolate-coated bananas on top and layers of bananas inside the cake. Every bite was a delightful mix of chocolate and banana, not overly sweet but rather refreshing. The balance between the chocolate and banana flavors was perfect, making it a very delicious chocolate banana cake. Thank you for the meal!

I visited the restaurant after a long time and found that they were now selling smoothies and lemonade. They had new menu items, including cakes which I hadn't seen before, so I was delighted and bought some. - Strawberry Tart: This tart had so many fresh strawberries for the price, it was amazing! - Chocolate Cake - Blood Orange Tart: The tart had a dry texture but the flavor was concentrated and unique, very delicious with a hint of acidity. - Blood Orange Jam: A jam with a fresh taste of blood oranges, low on sugar and almost like a confiture. The slight bitterness was great, especially when paired with yogurt. - Milk Crepe - Strawberry Smoothie: The smoothie was made right in front of me for 350 yen. Blueberry smoothie was sold out. The lemonade also looked delicious. It was blended in a mixer and served cold, very tasty! Thank you for the meal!

I used to go one hour before closing time and they were almost sold out, so this time I went in the morning on my day off. I drove there specifically (laughs). In the morning, they had a good selection! There were 11 types of cakes, sweet potato, and finally, apple pie! - Victoria Sponge Cake 300 yen: It's a British dessert with a slightly firm castella-like cake sandwiched with blueberries, haskap berries, and buttercream. It's topped with powdered sugar. It has a simple taste, with the jam in the middle being sweet and sour. It's recommended to have it with tea as the cake absorbs moisture. - Seasonal Fruit Tart 350 yen: It doesn't look like a fruit tart because it has a crumble made of whole wheat flour and oatmeal on top. Inside, there are red apples, La France pears, and princess lemons. The lemon adds a bit of tanginess, but the La France pear is hard to find. The princess lemon adds a nice touch of acidity. - Fresh Brownie 180 yen: It has Taiwanese pineapple inside, saying hello from the cut squares. - Hiratori Tomato Cream Puff 180 yen: A cream puff made with local Hiratori tomatoes. It's interesting to have tomatoes in a cream puff, but it doesn't taste like tomatoes. It has dried tomato pieces on top, and the filling is all cream without custard. - Strawberry Tart 450 yen: The most popular tart with two generous strawberries on top. - Cheese Gratin 350 yen: A cheese-flavored Catalana. The top is crispy while the inside is creamy. This was the most delicious item with a perfect mix of the bitter crispy part and the sweet cheese cream part. - Sweet Potato 200 yen: Sold by weight, so the price varies depending on the size. The smallest one is 160 yen, which is very affordable. It has sweet potato at the bottom, with cream in between, similar to the sweet potato from Obihiro with cranberries. - Apple Pie 300 yen: I wanted to meet you! It seems you can buy apple pie if you go early. Is it only available in winter? Thank you for the meal!

In the area of Hidaka, many cake shops and cafes have been closing down one after another, and I was thinking that there is nowhere to buy cakes anymore. However, I was informed that a cake shop has opened in Hira-tori, so I decided to visit. It is run by a couple who are both around 60 years old, and although they operate on a small scale, they have accounts on Instagram and Twitter, which is impressive. They were not listed on Tabelog, but they were on Google Maps. They are closed on Wednesdays, and often have temporary closures on Thursdays for preparation, so it is advisable to avoid going on those days. I managed to arrive just before closing time at 5 pm. There were 4 seats at the counter, but it seemed like they were not offering eat-in service at the moment. They do not accept electronic money, but cards seem to be accepted. They also had baked goods, including cookies with Ainu patterns, which was quite impressive. Most of the cakes were already sold out, but there were a few left! The Shortcake and Strawberry Mousse were priced at 350 yen each. Other cakes were also mostly priced at 350 yen, which is quite cheap! The Chocolate Cake, Western Pear Tart, Chocolate and Haskap Berry Cake, and Blueberry Cake, as well as the Chocolate Mont Blanc, were all priced at 350 yen. The Strawberry Tart and Blueberry Tart were priced at 450 yen. The Shortcake had a mild milk flavor without the cream being too heavy, and it was delicious. The Mousse was made with "Suzuakane" strawberries, and the chocolate on top was also stylish. The sweet and sour mousse was tasty. I had imagined the mousse to be softer, but it was actually quite firm due to being set with gelatin, making it more jelly-like. This cake shop is a rare find in an area where sweets are disappearing. I would love to visit again. If only I had noticed earlier, I could have come to buy an apple pie in the fall...! Thank you for the delicious treats!

I went there for the first time and tried their recommended strawberry tart. It was delicious, the most popular item. If I have the chance to go to Hiratori again, I will definitely stop by.
