I came back from Abashiri to Teshikaga in October 2022. I read that a bakery opened in place of Akkanbe, so I decided to check it out. When I entered the shop, I noticed that there were only a few breads on the wall and gelato at the counter. Since the bread from the previous day was cheap, I bought that along with a curry bread. The curry bread had a Keema curry filling with a mild spice and sweet dough. The cheese bread didn't have cheese inside, but the dough was sweet. This shop is a vocational support shop, and the gelato is from Akkanbe. It seems like they are just starting out, so I hope they do well. Thank you for the meal.

On my way to get some stamps at the Michi-no-Eki Mashu Onsen, I saw many banners on the roadside. Curious, I saw they were advertising "handmade bread" and "gelato." Feeling a bit hungry, I decided to stop by. Inside, there was a counter on the right with a display case of gelato, a bread corner on the left, and a seating area in the back. Although the gelato looked tempting, I ended up buying some bread. There were 10 types of bread priced from 160 yen, all of them small and easy to eat. The atmosphere inside felt like a bread workshop, with two women working on something. As soon as I entered, they greeted me warmly and helped me choose my bread. After making my selection and paying, they put the bread in a sturdy paper bag that looked handmade from newspaper. I tried the "cheese buns" (160 yen), which had plenty of diced processed cheese in a soft butter roll. Despite its small size, it was quite filling. I also had the "strawberry roll" (170 yen), which had a generous amount of strawberry jam rolled into a soft butter roll. Both breads had a homemade feel to them. Next time, I'll have to try the gelato too. Thank you, Harappa!

I came to Teshikaga! I heard that a new bakery opened, so I decided to check it out. It's located towards Lake Akan from the town center of Teshikaga. It used to be a place known for "akkambe". I arrived around 1:30 PM, but unfortunately, most of the bread was already sold out. Among the few options left, I chose a melon bread for 160 yen and a curry bread for 170 yen.
Melon bread was on the smaller side, but the texture was incredibly soft and fluffy. It was so delicious! I haven't had melon bread in a while, and this one was really good. The quality of the bread made me think that the other options would be tasty too.
The curry bread seemed a bit over-fried, probably because the oil temperature was too high. There were some parts where the bread felt undercooked. The curry filling had visible bits of vegetables like carrots and onions. The filling was good, but the bread was a bit disappointing.
I didn't visit when they had a full selection, so I can't make a complete judgment. However, since they are operating in this location, I hope they continue to improve. They also sell "akkambe" gelato inside the store, so it might be worth visiting for gelato during the summer. I might go back again. Thank you for the meal!
