In Tokachi, Obihiro's Telegraph Street, there is a famous snack shop where both locals and tourists line up. A little further east, there are delicious donuts that are absolutely amazing. While I also like a certain Mister's donuts, these donuts here are unbeatable! The dough, sweetness, variety, and customer service are all top-notch. Tokachi is full of delicious food, but this snack is a must-try.

I arrived at the store around 13:40 on July 2023♪ There were no customers before me, and there were 2 groups of customers after me. I found this place on social media and was curious, so it's my first time visiting. The Premium Fresh Cream Donuts that I wanted to try were sold out. I came all the way to Obihiro for this... The Custard Cream Donut has cold and delicious custard, and the donut itself is fluffy and chewy, which is great! The Rum Raisin Custard Donut has a refined taste with strong rum flavor. I like rum raisins, so I chose this, but it's not exactly to my taste. Hmm... I think I prefer the Custard Cream Donut. Next time, I'll go early to try the Premium Fresh Cream Donut!٩(`・ω・´)و

This is a donut shop found on Denshin Street in the eastern part of Obihiro City. When you enter the small shop, you are greeted by rows of happiness in the form of donuts. It's not self-service, but rather an order-based system where you choose from the displayed donuts. Cream-filled donuts are prepared after ordering. I discovered the cream-filled donuts while trying to pay and quickly added them to my order. I tried the Coffee and Hazelnut (190 yen), Coconut (190 yen), Caramel Nut (190 yen), Premium Cream Donut (250 yen), and Hojicha Cream Donut (250 yen). Each donut had its own unique taste and was delicious. The Premium Cream Donut was a delightful combination of fluffy donut, powdered sugar, and creamy filling. The Hojicha Cream Donut had a strong and rich hojicha flavor that was very tasty. This shop offers a variety of donuts, both cream-filled and non-cream-filled, with a range of sweetness levels. Overall, it's a delightful place to enjoy some delicious donuts.

Donut shop located along Denshin Street. The shop offers a variety of donuts made with ingredients from Tokachi, ensuring safe and delicious treats. They use low-trans fat frying oil to reduce the donut's fat content by 70%. Cream-filled donuts are recommended to be consumed within 3 hours for freshness. I purchased two types of donuts: - Premium Fresh Cream: Soft dough filled with rich cream made from 100% pure fresh cream. It has a milky flavor that pairs perfectly with the fluffy donut. - Rum Raisin Custard: A rich cream with a hint of rum for a sophisticated taste. Great for pairing with wine. I also tried their classic donuts: - Tokachi Milk Donut: A simple yet popular donut with a soft and chewy texture. - Chocolate Sugar: A chocolate doughnut coated in sugar. - Double Chocolate Crunch: Cocoa doughnut with a generous chocolate topping for chocolate lovers. - Coffee and Hazelnut: Slightly bitter coffee dough with the aroma of hazelnuts and sweetness of white chocolate. A delicious treat with a sophisticated flavor. All the donuts are light and not too sweet, making it easy to enjoy 2-3 in one sitting. These donuts are gentle on the body and taste great.

It has been about a year since I last visited Donut Lab. Sometimes when passing by the store, I saw a "sold out" sign, so it seems like everyone loves donuts. Last time I visited, I asked the staff if I could eat inside the store, and they replied, "No" with a laugh. This time, I bought three donuts: Tokachi Milk Donut, Sugar Caramel Nut, and the January limited edition Chocolate Cream Donut (Premium Cream Donut). The Tokachi Milk Donut had a fluffy texture and was very easy to eat. The Caramel Nut had a nice nutty texture, and the nuts stayed in place thanks to the caramel sauce. The Premium Cream Donut had a 3-hour expiration, so I tried it as soon as I got home. The cream looked very sweet, but it was surprisingly light in flavor. It would have been better with a bit more chocolate taste.

The donuts are heavy to eat and I couldn't wait until dinner, so I visited as a snack. There were 11 types of donuts on trays. Tencho Milk Donuts Sugar, Tencho Milk Donuts Cinnamon for 130 yen. Chocolate & Sugar, Chocolate Ring, Strawberry Milk for 150 yen. Double Chocolate Almond, Double Chocolate Crunch, Coconut, Soy Milk Kinako for 180 yen. Coffee and Hazelnut price unknown. Caramel Nut. They offer Cream Donut Menu where you choose either "Tencho Milk Donuts Sugar" or "Chocolate & Sugar", they cut it and sandwich cream in between, with a 3-hour expiration period. Custard Cream Donut for 200 yen. Rum Raisin Custard, Premium Fresh Cream, Chocolate Fresh Cream (limited to February) for 250 yen. I tried the "Rum Raisin" and found the rum flavor a bit strong (average level). The "Premium Fresh Cream" had plenty of cream but was not too sweet, so I finished it quickly. Compared to major donut chains, these donuts are softer, smaller in size, and a bit pricey. I personally miss the old days when donuts were harder.

These are doughnuts with a chewy texture. Personally, I prefer doughnuts that are chewy rather than crispy, so these doughnuts were perfect for me. There were various flavors available, and I almost ended up buying a lot, but I managed to resist and only bought three flavors: sugar, cinnamon, and coconut. They were all delicious. I will try a different flavor next time. Thank you for the meal! I will visit again.

This is Obihiro, it's been a while. Work has been busy, so I can only rest on Sundays, which made me want to go out. If I had Saturday off, I would definitely head to Sapporo. After eating ramen and drinking coffee, I wrote down a list of 10 places to visit. So far, it's going smoothly, 9 places done, onto the last one. It's time to head back! The last stop today is a donut shop called "Donut Lab". It's not very noticeable, the parking lot stands out more. Inside, it's small with trays lined up. About half of them are empty, making it look silly. It seems to be popular, which is good. The couple running the shop seem younger than me. The previous customers must have just left. The parent and child I passed earlier were probably the same. I got the "Chocolate Almond Chip" and a regular donut for 300 yen. Not sure if it's expensive or cheap. I don't like chocolate snacks, but I have to eat it since Yome is not here. I cut it into thirds. It's chewy and has a nice almond texture. The chocolate flavor is not my favorite, but the texture is good. It could be better, but overall, it's tasty. The sweetness is just right, and it's delicious, as expected.

I visited Obihiro Shrine to pay my respects. I wanted to take a bus, but I saw that it only comes once an hour, so I decided to walk to a nearby place instead. It was a cute little handmade, additive-free donut shop! The Tencho Milk Donut Cinnamon (usually 130 yen) was delicious, and I exchanged my sweet voucher for a cinnamon one. The Coconut (170 yen) had cocoa dough with sugar glaze and coconut topping. The Double Chocolate Crunch (170 yen) had cocoa dough, chocolate coating, and a crispy crunch. The Coffee and Hazelnut (180 yen) had coffee dough with hazelnuts mixed in and white chocolate drizzled on top. It was my favorite of the ones I tried. The donuts were like the fluffy mochi donuts from Sapporo, but with a homemade and kind touch. I was interested in the cream donut, but it had a 3-hour shelf life, so I had to pass. I would love to visit again if I have the chance.

I went to a delicious donut shop recommended to me when I was in the mood for donuts as a snack at 3 o'clock! When I entered the shop, there were several tasty donuts lined up, all looking so good! I chose the chocolate crunch and rum raisin flavors. Both were fluffy and chewy, and so delicious! The rum raisin had a sophisticated flavor, making me feel a bit elegant while enjoying the donut. It's a cute donut shop that uses good milk. If you pass by the shop or feel like having dessert, be sure to give it a try!

I finally got to visit Donut Lab, a place I had been curious about since finding it on Tabelog! It's located in the city center but has a convenient parking lot right next to it, which makes it easy to park. The beautiful green building serves as a great landmark. At the entrance, there is a donut-shaped sign. The interior has a very stylish and lovely atmosphere. Inside, various donuts are displayed on trays, and you can pick the ones you want, and the staff will get them for you. On this day, there were 12 different types of donuts available, all in ring shapes and without any fillings like cream. They are pure "donuts only." I chose the cinnamon donut and strawberry donut. The dough is soft and fluffy. It's soft but has a good chewiness. These donuts allow you to fully taste the flavor of the dough. The prices are quite reasonable, ranging from 120 to 160 yen. It's a donut shop where you can feel the kindness of Tokachi. Thank you for the meal!

After lunch, I decided to treat myself to some sweets and stopped by Donut Lab. I had been here before when it was known as Tokachi Donut Farm, but the name had changed since then. The way it works is that the staff picks the items for you, so I asked for their recommendations. Here are the ones I tried: - Tokachi Milk Donut Sugar (130 yen): Made with Hokkaido wheat and Tokachi milk, this plain donut had a light and fluffy texture. It was not too sweet, which I liked. - Custard Cream (150 yen): A milk donut filled with custard cream. The vanilla bean specks were visible, and the custard was slightly sweet. It paired well with the milk donut. - Double Chocolate Crunch (160 yen): A luxurious donut made with Dutch cocoa mixed into the milk dough. The crunchy topping was delicious, and the chocolate itself had a refined sweetness. - Soy Milk Kinako (150 yen): A healthy combination of soy milk and kinako (toasted soybean flour) in a donut. It had a fragrant aroma and a hearty texture. Overall, the donuts at this place had a gentle flavor and a soft and chewy texture. They are free from preservatives and additives, and are fermented carefully depending on the room temperature and humidity. While they may not be as satisfying for those who prefer donuts from major chains, I enjoyed the mild taste of these donuts as a treat once in a while.

Donut Snack - Donut Lab in Obihiro City Center, the South 5th Street, which intersects with the main street, is commonly known as "Denshin Street" and is loved by the people of Obihiro. However, did you know that it is recently being called by another nickname? That is... Sweets Street!! Yes, here on South 5th Street, there are popular shops from Tokachi such as the main store of Cranberry famous for its sweet potato, Takahashi Manju which became a hit with cheese oyaki, Tokachi Bagel, and Hanadora which specializes in creative dorayaki. For those who love sweets, it's irresistible~ Among these sweet shops, there is a shop with a small yet distinctive yellow-green wall, that is, the Donut Lab, a shop that specializes in additive-free donuts made from Tokachi and Hokkaido ingredients. The atmosphere is chic as if it came out of Sapporo Station, and there are delicious-looking donuts lined up. Slightly smaller than Mister Donut, the size is perfect for snacking. With a light texture, you can easily finish two or three in one go. The most popular item in the shop seems to be the "Caramel Nut" topped with homemade caramel and almonds, but the "Soy Milk Kinako" combining Tokachi black soybean kinako and soy milk dough was delicious, giving a feeling of "this kinako is different from the usual!" Donuts that you can give to your children with peace of mind as a snack. Of course, feel free to enjoy them yourself as well. After finally managing to navigate my way using GPS, I stumbled upon this small shop tucked between buildings. It was a close call, almost missed it. The interior is cozy and the wall paintings of cows and donuts are quite charming. There's even a large milk can on display! The place gives off a homey, slightly retro vibe, which I love. I arrived around 2 o'clock and there was quite a crowd, with about four people ahead of me in line. The donuts ranged from 150 to 180 yen each, a bit pricier than some other shops. However, each donut was carefully made and handled with care. I decided to try them all. The kinako (roasted soybean flour) and cinnamon flavors were delightful! The strawberry was sweet and tangy with a hint of milkiness. As for the chocolate donut, I couldn't get a good picture as a hyena got to it before I could. The donuts were all soft and delicious. I can't quite put it into words, but the flavors felt rich and intense. It was my first time getting hooked on donut dough. If I ever find myself in Obihiro again, I'll definitely stop by for more.
