A group of friends who used to work together as new graduates gathered for the first time in a long time. We were surprised to find this stylish Italian bar near our old workplace! In the past, near Sapporo Station North Exit, there were many cheap izakayas and bars, with a mix of old buildings and karaoke snack bars on the upper floors. But the atmosphere has completely changed now (laughs). We started with a toast with sparkling wine to celebrate our reunion! The appetizer was salmon rillette, which was easy to eat and paired well with the sparkling wine. As some members arrived late, we started with a modest order. We got a cheese platter and a small-sized adult potato salad to nibble on while enjoying our wine and chatting. We had the option to choose from 5 types of cheese for the platter, but since we weren't that knowledgeable, we left it to the staff. They ended up including a "natto-scented cheese" in response to a conversation they overheard about the Hokkaido Eastern Iburi Earthquake last year (laughs). The service was a bit embarrassing to hear, but it sparked even more lively conversations (laughs). We also added pate de campagne to our order. The unanimous choice for our main dish was the popular lasagna, which was rich in meat sauce, and we couldn't help but order red wine to go with it (laughs). The variety of reasonably priced glass wines was extensive, and when we mentioned our taste preferences and grape varieties, the staff recommended some options. We were advised that the meat dishes took some time to prepare, so we ordered them in advance. The meat dish we ordered was the Altana Special Spare Ribs with marinated meat in honey balsamic sauce. Since we were engrossed in conversation, the arrival of the dish didn't feel like it took long. The spare ribs were neatly cut into bone and meat pieces, making it easy to share among us. The meat was flavorful with each bite, and the honey balsamic sauce was slightly intense, pairing well with the meat and red wine. Since we had fewer heavy drinkers in the group this time, the bill came out to around 3,500 yen per person. It was a perfect place for a small group gathering to enjoy delicious food, drinks, and lively conversations. With a wide selection of wines and a menu that complements them, it's a great place for those who love alcohol and dishes that go well with it. They also offer a drink-all-you-can option (1,580 yen for 100 minutes, with 5 types of red and white wines, and 2 types of sparkling and rosé wines), so it seems like a good deal for gatherings with heavy drinkers. We enjoyed catching up on recent events, future plans, and recent joys, and had endless topics to chat about. It was a fulfilling recharge! Thank you for the meal and sorry for the commotion (laughs).
