I came here through an acquaintance's recommendation! I enjoyed sake and dishes like hokki sashimi, tako wasabi, and garlic saba. I tried Kokushimuso and Nokanoshu sake. It was my first time trying hokki sashimi and it was fresh! The restaurant is also conveniently close to the station, which was great (*^_^*)

Sitting at the counter, I take a moment to look over the menu. My drink of choice is a Sapporo Classic draft beer when I come to Hokkaido. Maruemon from Akkeshi has never really impressed me before, but this time, the grilled version was quite good. Personally, I prefer Senpoushi the most, but this grilled Maruemon was also quite enjoyable. The plump texture and sweetness were great. One of the pleasures of winter in Hokkaido is Tachi. I usually like it grilled, but in the past, I often had it in a Tachi-pon style. Lately, I feel like tempura is the most common way to have it, but tempura tends to get tough if you don't eat it quickly. When it's freshly served, it's sweet and tender, but once it hardens, the flavor diminishes. It's better to share with a couple of people rather than eating it alone. Nonetheless, it's so delicious that I end up ordering it. The pickled mackerel is not bad, but maybe it's not necessary to have it together. The homemade moon-viewing meatball was firmer than the usual meatballs, and I liked the texture and chewiness. The sweet and savory sauce combined with the rich sweetness of the egg yolk creates an exquisite taste. It's not a unique flavor specific to this restaurant, but it's a combination that never disappoints. Thank you for the meal.

Kuromonji in Asahikawa with two people. Originally, I wanted to go to Asahikawa, but this weekend I had outdoor plans, so I thought it might be impossible to go to Asahikawa since my body will be tired. However, the weather forecast was bad, so I gave up on outdoor activities and ended up staying in Asahikawa. I didn't expect to end up drinking in Asahikawa, so I didn't have any notes on night spots. After I took over driving, my wife started choosing a restaurant. She had work the next day and needed to leave early in the morning, so she said, "We'll only stay until around 9 o'clock!" But it didn't turn out that way. The second place we went to was a popular restaurant that my wife managed to make a reservation at. It was a clean and beautiful restaurant with many sunken kotatsu-style seats. The service by two female staff members was very pleasant, and the waiter had a simple and nice demeanor. I thought about ordering a drink, but the options didn't appeal to me so I decided to go with individual items. I ordered a beer, which came in a classic glass and was delicious. The course started with a salad, which was small but tasty. The tuna sashimi and homemade vinegar mackerel were delicious, and the rolled omelette was fluffy. I thought the green onions on the rolled omelette were distracting, but it was still tasty. I was disappointed to see an ashtray, but the sake I ordered was from Kobayashi Shuzo and was delicious. It was served cold, which I didn't like, but it was still a good choice. The egg was fluffy and delicious, and the grated radish on the same plate was not to my liking. The egg custard was tasty, although it was unusually salty. The vinegar mackerel lacked a strong vinegar flavor, but it was still good. The fish was small and lacked a strong fatty flavor, which was disappointing. The cook's mask was bothering me, and I also started to notice the smell of cigarettes, so I decided to leave. Despite the high prices, the excellent service, delicious food, and good selection of the restaurant made it a great choice.

After the state of emergency was lifted, I did a test drive in Wakkanai, then a break-in drive in Asahikawa. After October 15th, I plan to drive normally in Sapporo (lol). Although I say I can go anywhere, the person in charge in Asahikawa chose a restaurant with perfect measures and made a reservation. The private room was available, and the box seats could fit up to 10 people, but there were only three of us, sorry. Last time I visited during the pandemic, there were only two groups, so the bustling atmosphere on this day probably reflects the number of customers. The appetizer was simple, starting with fried potatoes, zangi, and dashimaki tamago. I took pictures, but the rest was a bit difficult to capture (lol). The fried potatoes were irresistible with ketchup. They were fried nicely. The zangi was a bit small, and the dashimaki tamago, while not special, was quite tasty. A unique item was cream cheese with mountain wasabi. I was surprised by the combination, but it tasted good when dipped in soy sauce. I started with beer and then switched to sake. It felt like I was drinking delicious beer after a long time. That made me think that the beer in Wakkanai is different... (lol) The sake selection was limited and didn't quite fit the bill. It was a light meal today since it was a test drive. Thank you for the meal.

I had heard about this place from magazines and word of mouth and was curious. The atmosphere is cozy, located on the fourth floor of a building with a narrow elevator. It seems like a hidden gem that you wouldn't know about unless you heard about it. I was nervous about being the only outsider among regulars, but the interior was spacious with a diverse range of customers. The seating had partitions and a calming ambiance. The manager was friendly and accommodating, but the staff seemed a bit inexperienced. The menu had a wide variety of dishes, all of which were deliciously prepared. The seafood was amazing, but the meat dishes were also tender and well-seasoned. The beer had a smooth, frothy texture that was delightful. However, the wait for the food was a bit long, likely due to the crowdedness. Overall, it's a place worth trying despite the initial hesitation, with tasty food and drinks in a comfortable setting.

It's the night of a business trip to Asahikawa. It seems that the local manager made a reservation for us. When we entered the restaurant, it seemed like they didn't really need a reservation as there were already customers there. Another group arrived later, so there were two groups dining tonight. Asahikawa, are you okay? First, I ordered a beer. It was a classic and tasted great, so I immediately had two glasses. The appetizer was simmered squid and daikon, which had a rich flavor. We also tried the fresh bluefin tuna, which was recommended at a special price of 360 yen per plate. It was delicious, but I wonder if the portion stays the same regardless of the number of people. The zangi was large and filling, with a strong flavor. The grilled chicken with wasabi was juicy and had a nice kick from the wasabi. We also had potato fries, edamame, and other typical izakaya dishes. The overall cost was a bit higher than expected due to ordering two beers, a highball, a lemon sour, and two glasses of sake. I wish we had opted for the all-you-can-drink option. Despite the slightly higher cost, we enjoyed the meal. Thank you for the meal, and I hope this review supports the restaurant.

The 22nd restaurant is "Kuromonji". I had been reading reviews from Myレビ and really wanted to try drinking at the counter. Actually, I'm not a big fan of sitting at the counter. I prefer sitting in a booth even if I'm alone. I like to think while eating, or work on my food blog drafts. I'm a bit of an introvert, you see. Also, if I'm sitting alone at the counter and not being attended to, it can feel lonely. Recently, I had an experience at a yakitori place called "Yakitori no Maruhei" in Muroran, where I was left alone at the counter. So, I was a bit hesitant about trying the counter seating at "Kuromonji". But, to my surprise, the master and the young master at "Kuromonji" were very attentive and engaging. They talked to me about Asahikawa, where I will be moving in April, and I was able to gather a lot of information. This made me realize that drinking at the counter can also be enjoyable. I had draft beer and cold sake. The appetizer was octopus namasu, which I usually don't like, but this one had a mild vinegar flavor and was easy to eat. It was delicious. I also had young pheasant tempura, which had a light and delicate taste without any unpleasant smells or bitterness. The frying technique was impressive. It came with salt, but it tasted much better without adding salt. The grilled kama harasu of the day was yellowtail. Yellowtail is said to improve bowel movements when eaten, haha. The yellowtail was fatty and delicious, but towards the end, the richness started to feel heavy on the stomach. Maybe it was because I had yakitori at the first place, then the young pheasant tempura here, and finally the yellowtail. Overall, it was a good experience.

I have used this restaurant for business-related dinners twice. It seems like a place that can accommodate a large number of people. After reading the reviews from Myレビ, I realized that the atmosphere is quite different between large group dining and small group dining at the counter. I visited the restaurant around 9 pm after work. I made a reservation beforehand as I remembered the counter seats were limited. The sunken kotatsu seats were busy with groups. The counter seats had a calm atmosphere. The chef and the manager greeted us with smiles. I ordered a Sapporo Classic beer and the appetizer was vegetable salad with white sesame dressing. Based on the recommendation, I ordered the grilled Atka mackerel and the house specialty miso stew. The grilled Atka mackerel was large and creamy inside. It was delicious! The miso stew was also recommended and it was slightly sweet with a rich flavor. The side of cheese-filled mochi and fresh vegetables were a great addition. I then ordered a Zaka dry sake to go with my meal. When I asked for another dish, the chef recommended a reservation-only course dish, the sweet shrimp vinegar dish. It was refreshing and tasty. I also received a complimentary flounder fin dish. The service at the counter was excellent, especially from the chef. The interaction and conversations made the dining experience enjoyable. I understand why everyone prefers the counter seats. At around 10 pm, a customer at the counter mentioned they found the restaurant through Myレビ reviews. The power of online reviews is truly significant. The chef even escorted us to the elevator when we left. The staff were all friendly and made the dining experience pleasant.

I went on a business trip to Asahikawa in October 2019 and decided to explore the city alone after the first meeting ended. I used the recommendation of a hostess named Ageha to find a Japanese sake bar. I felt a bit anxious in an unfamiliar city, but having friends around was reassuring. I quickly headed to the counter as it had a good atmosphere. I tried the Nuru-Kan (warm sake) at 400 yen, which was dry but refreshing, and I really enjoyed it. The owner even served me some dried mountain trout (Yamabe) as a gift, which was incredibly flavorful. When paired with the sake, the flavors were even more enhanced. I also tried the Kanpachi Kamaharasu Yaki (amberjack collar and belly grilled set) for 780 yen, which was fatty and delicious. The owner praised me for eating it neatly. The atmosphere was lively when a group was having a party in a private room, but it became quiet after they left. However, the owner and his son kept me entertained, making it a fun night. The information from the hostess in Asahikawa was spot on! Thank you for the delicious meal!

About 2 years ago when I visited, they had a selection of Japanese sake, but it was mostly well-known brands. I decided to visit again after a long time. - Yamawa Junmai Ginjo for 500 yen: A good deal for sake with a taste that balances sweetness and spiciness. - Otoshi for 400 yen: It's nice that seasonal dishes are served as otoshi. - Homemade cured mackerel for 850 yen: The vinegar and curing are just right, very delicious. The soy sauce is served chilled upon ordering. - Garlic soy sauce pickled in garlic for 300 yen: A bit salty, but goes well with sake. - Yama-be tempura for 480 yen: Crispy and delicious, and they even recommended trying the fried Yama-be. - Kanpachi collar grilled for 780 yen: Both the collar and belly are enjoyable, and they even gave a bit extra. The presentation with acorns adds a nice seasonal touch. - Sawaya Matsumoto Junmai for 400 yen: Strong aroma with a hint of sweetness, very tasty. - Grilled rice ball with green seaweed and mountain wasabi sauce: Delicious with a unique sauce. - They also have hidden sake if you ask, so of course, I had to try it. - Ganboku ANOTHER: A sake that gained attention as a sake from the same Yamaguchi prefecture during the Dassai craze. Fruity aroma and dry taste. They were very generous with the service, making me feel almost guilty, but the atmosphere was great and the sake was delicious. If you're just drinking sake, maybe next time I'll go for the 1500 yen all-you-can-drink option.

I used to use it for banquets... but let's put that aside for now (laughs). This time, I want to confirm at the counter. It seems like there are some dishes like sashimi that I want to try in a relaxed atmosphere. The counter has a deep depth, and the smooth touch of the wood feels nice. Let's start with a draft beer... Sashimi was a must because it was the season for Pacific saury. We also tried the unusual "mushroom tempura." I can't imagine what it looks like, so weird things are popping up in my head (laughs). We tried various other dishes, but where are the photos? I became good friends with the head chef and had a great time chatting. It was not just delicious, but the atmosphere of the restaurant also made it fun, and we ended up having a fun and tipsy time. The rating also skyrocketed.

Yesterday, we had a welcome and farewell party for the person who transferred in January and the person who will be transferring out in March. Sometimes people move at odd times, don't they? I might be in danger in April too... Now, the location was at "Wa Kuromonji" on the 4th floor of Ishiguro Building in 3-jo 6-chome in Asahikawa City. The dishes that came out included a platter of sashimi and a pot with fresh fish. I will list them all out. There was also sushi and ice cream for dessert. It was probably a 4000 yen course. Thank you for the meal ^^ After that, we went to Hanakanjashi for the second party, but I was slightly hungover from the night before due to work, so it was a bit tough... *This post is from the blog.

Title... was it suspicious? (lol) This was for a farewell party's first event. There were about 25 people squeezed around tightly packed tables, sitting closely next to each other enjoying a main dish of sukiyaki for the banquet (^ . ^; It was not only delicious, but the seats and tables were extremely cramped (#・∀・) The table was a mess! Since it was a company expense, I didn't have to pay, but paying 4500 yen per person for this kind of experience... ridiculous (lol) I'm hungry... I want to eat delicious sushi... Where should I go? I tried the "¥4000 all-you-can-drink course" for a workplace banquet. There were over 30 people present at this restaurant. The main dish of this month's course seemed to be spare ribs, which the younger crowd enjoyed. However, some older guests couldn't eat it and expressed their concerns. The spare ribs were tasty, but then a sashimi platter arrived, which was a bit unexpected. The food was satisfying, but the order in which it was served was a bit disappointing. The drinks were served quickly! The fact that there was a large room with a sunken hearth was also appreciated. These two points are important for organizers and make this restaurant suitable for large banquets. Since I am not the organizer this time, my role ends here. Thank you to the organizer, T-san, for your hard work.

The 4000 yen course was mainly focused on hot pot. I felt like the portion size was a bit small for the price. Is this typical for hot pot courses? We were a group of women and the food was just enough for us. Having a private room was really nice.

On Sanroku Appreciation Day, I went to "Kuromonji" because all the other participating restaurants were full. It was a Friday and the place was bustling with people celebrating the day. The menu was a bit limited but the dishes we ordered were delicious. We didn't try the sashimi so I can't comment on the freshness. The prices seemed a bit on the higher side. The all-you-can-drink option for 120 minutes included my favorite Kirin beer and Otoko-yama, so I was very satisfied. It might be a good place for a party or gathering.
