On this day, I went to "FLOAT" salon. I received instructions from my sister to "watch over ◯◯◯-kun while I'm at the salon," and unexpectedly ended up going on a date with my nephew♡ I dropped off my sister at the salon and headed to the salon with my nephew, arriving before 11:30 am. There was only one other customer there. We sat at a table and when I looked at the menu brought by the owner, I confirmed that they didn't have juice. The owner said, "We have cocoa and milk," and when I asked my nephew which one he preferred, he replied, "I'll have an iced milk!" I chose "blended coffee" and ordered "iced milk and blended coffee." After a short wait, the iced milk and coffee arrived. The coffee that was brewed from beans had an excellent aroma and a mild acidity that I liked. My nephew, who was trying iced milk for the first time, also seemed to like it. I was a little worried about whether it would be okay to go to a cafe with two people, but my usually mischievous nephew behaved well and was a good boy throughout. We spent about an hour chatting about things like his nursery school while enjoying the superb view from the window. As we were leaving, my nephew, who had been so well-behaved, received an Anpanman snack from the owner.

Day off! Once again, I slept in until noon, woke up, and thought "I want some coffee..." so I headed to FLOAT! (my 5th or 6th time). It is located beautifully along the sea in Kunebetsu, Hokuto City. It stands elegantly as a large house, with an outdoor staircase leading up to the second floor where the shop is located (enough parking space for about 3 cars in front of the shop). The interior of the shop combines the warmth of wood with the blue of the sea, creating a very calming atmosphere. It's not very spacious (about 4 seats at the counter and 4 tables), and it's not noisy. Jazz music plays inside the shop, but when the windows are open, you can hear the sound of the waves, which is very soothing! The view from the second floor of Mt. Hakodate is at just the right angle, much better than viewing it straight on, and the passing tankers and ferries add a nice touch. The sight of the shop owner brewing coffee with a pour-over dripper is very charming, and you can feel the sincerity in the way it is brewed. You can feel their love for coffee! It may take some time before you are served, but that is part of the charm of this shop! Take your time to enjoy the view and atmosphere before enjoying your drink and food! Today, I chose the Colombian coffee! It has a deep flavor, with a strong bitterness when you take a sip, followed by a pleasant acidity in the aftertaste that lingers gently and pleasantly in your mouth and nose. FLOAT, where time flows warmly, gently, and peacefully. Thank you for the meal!!

I visited in the morning. It's Coffee Room FLOAT in Higashihama, Hokuto City. It's located near Kunebetsu Elementary School, by the sea. I was very curious about this place and it was my first visit. The shop is on the second floor after climbing the stairs. The parking space is on the ground floor. Inside, there are table seats by the window and a few counter seats. The atmosphere is calm and I chose a table by the window to enjoy the view. They even have binoculars for a better view. Unfortunately, the weather was cloudy that day. I ordered a Croque-monsieur for 300 yen and a Mandheling coffee for 550 yen. The coffee is freshly ground and brewed using Nel drip, so it took some time. The Croque-monsieur was delicious, with ham, cheddar cheese, and homemade white sauce. The Mandheling coffee was also great. The background music was jazz, but the sound of waves and seagulls was more prominent. It was very relaxing. There was a couple on a date, not talking much, just enjoying the atmosphere. The staff, a woman, was very kind and beautiful. I ended up staying longer than I planned, it's a very satisfying place. As I was leaving and taking pictures of the sea, a seagull almost dropped something on me. Overall, it was a good experience. Highly recommended. Thank you for the meal.

Date: March 13, 2014 FLOAT Theme: Cafe The other day, I went to FLOAT for the first time in a while. The weather was really nice and you could see Mount Hakodate clearly. Since it's a shop along the coast, you can enjoy the view from the window. I had a coffee cream... I think that's what it was? (laughs) It had been a while since I had cold coffee. I can't wait for summer to come! This shop has a very relaxed atmosphere, so it's great for chilling alone or hanging out with friends. It's a place where you can feel healed.
