"It is a designated rare disease by the government that worsens especially in hot weather. There is still no medicine to cure my rare disease. Administering 'blood products' for 5 consecutive days temporarily improves symptoms. I was hospitalized 5 times last year for rare disease treatment. I was discharged for the third time this year two months ago, but had to be hospitalized for the fourth time two weeks ago. Your encouraging comments are always a source of energy for me during hospitalization. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I look forward to your continued support. [October 2022] I have been discharged but will be reviewing based on my condition. Due to poor health, comments and replies are significantly delayed. I will respond as soon as my condition improves, so please bear with me. 'Curry & Soup Curry Mazeli Hassamu Store' is an Indian curry and soup curry restaurant. It is the second store of 'Curry & Soup Curry Mazeli,' following the 'Shiroishi Store.' It opened on October 1, 2022. I visited for the first time with my usual companion for a late lunch. The restaurant is located along Ginnan Street in the Hassamu area of Nishi Ward, Sapporo. Please check the exact location on Tabelog. I visited around 3 pm on a weekday. The staff are Indian men and women. The woman has been in Japan for 6 years and speaks fluent Japanese. The restaurant has counter seats and table seats. There were no previous or subsequent customers. We sat at a table. Looking at the menu, there are quite a few set menus that seem like a good deal. We ordered the 'Himalaya Set (with drink) for 1290 yen' from the set menu. Both of us chose the 'No. 3 Spicy' curry, and the set drink was 'Plain Lassi.' Naan and rice are all-you-can-eat in the set. I ordered 'Half Naan' once. After a 13-minute wait, our 'curry sets' arrived. The naan and rice in the set are all-you-can-eat. I ordered 'Half Naan' once. Himalaya Set (with drink) Curry - 2 types Hot curries Shrimp curry Chicken and spinach curry Salad Shredded cabbage, red cabbage, mizuna, dressing, etc. Chicken tikka Papad Drink Soft drink Plain lassi All-you-can-eat Plain naan Freshly baked and hot. Soft and crispy. Half available Rice Price: 1290 yen (tax included) The 'Himalaya Set (with drink)' is a filling set for 1290 yen. The freshly baked naan and unlimited rice refills are a plus. It's a universally palatable Indian curry. Even at level 3 spiciness, it's a safe level of heat. The hot 2 curries and the large, hot naan are delightful. Personally, I would be even happier if it was a set without refills for around 1100 yen. Next time, I'll visit during lunchtime to try their affordable lunch menu. Thank you for the delicious meal."

Last month, I had a lunch set here. I don't know what got into me, but I didn't go for my usual "Mutton Spinach Curry." It wasn't very impressive. Today, I ordered the same thing, of course - Mutton Spinach Curry. I asked for the spiciness level to be 10. Even though the menu only goes up to level 4 for spiciness, I always find 4 to be too mild. Yes, 10 should be good today. One of my favorites here is the "Hot Chai." Well, most places like this offer Chai, but the Chai here is always extremely hot. After eating the spicy curry, the hot Chai is incredibly delicious. Yes, I am completely satisfied with my favorite Mutton Spinach Curry and Hot Chai. Look, even Mazeli is content. ♫

I heard that the manager of the local supermarket branch was recruiting members at a certain event, so I went there. Unfortunately, Mr. Ono, who I wanted to help me, was not there. I decided to grab a bite to eat first so I could gather my strength. I chose this place because the entrance had sliding doors, giving off a traditional Japanese restaurant vibe. The interior also resembled a Japanese restaurant, with a Nepalese flag hanging. It turned out to be a Nepalese curry restaurant. The menu was large and easy to read, offering single curry dishes as well as set menus. The Nepalese curry had three types of paste - onion, tomato, and spinach, and my favorite, Sag Mutton, was available. The set menus, except for the most expensive Mazeli Special at 1,290 yen, were priced at 1,290 yen, with the single Sag Mutton priced at 1,190 yen, only a 100 yen difference. However, the set menu that allowed you to choose Sag Mutton did not have plain naan, which I prefer when eating curry. This time, I chose garlic naan. The garlic naan that arrived was very large, and when I took a bite, I felt like having a beer. The crispy naan had a subtle garlic flavor, making it a perfect accompaniment to the curry. The curry was spicy but not overpowering, with the richness of spices and aroma spreading in my mouth. And indeed, mutton goes well with Nepalese curry. Since you could order more naan, I ordered plain naan. The plain naan was soft and slightly sweet, complementing the curry well. After filling my stomach, I returned to the event venue to confront the supermarket branch manager, but he was nowhere to be found. Next time, I'll be prepared (hehehe).

Hello there, here you can enjoy authentic Nepalese curry. In hot countries, people can eat spicy food, right? In places like India, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, and Mexico, spicy dishes are common in hot climates. Nepal is a mountainous country, so you might think it's cool, but being next to India, it's a hot country. That's why I ordered the "Nepal Set" lunch menu, which includes Keema curry, chicken spinach curry, rice, and naan, plus a choice of lassi or a soft drink. It's a great deal. You can choose the level of spiciness for your curry, and today I went for level 10. Nepalese curry is different from Indian curry as it doesn't use ghee or yogurt. The complex spiciness of the curry is enhanced by choosing a higher level of spiciness. You can have unlimited naan refills, but I didn't need one today. Spicy curry is recommended on hot days. Maybe next time you can try some spicy food at Maseri? Maseri is also a cozy place. Enjoy!

Located in the Higashi-ku Han area, this Nepalese curry restaurant offers free parking in front of the store. I visited in the evening and found a variety of Nepalese curries on the menu. The interior was clean and spacious, with a mix of counter and table seating. The staff were all Nepalese, and you can choose from four levels of spiciness for your curry: mild, medium, hot, or extra hot. I ordered the Cheese Naan Set (1290 yen), which came with lassi, salad, and chicken tikka. For my curry, I chose the Kadai Mutton Curry at the extra hot level. The Nepalese curry had a good balance of spices, with a hint of sweetness, acidity, and spiciness. It was more flavorful than typical curry restaurants. Despite being extra hot, it was not as spicy as Jawa curry's hot to extra hot level. The mutton was average, with some bell peppers mixed in. The Cheese Naan was delicious, with plenty of gooey cheese inside. The salad dressing was a bit too sweet but had a nice spice to it. The chicken tikka was well-seasoned and cooked just right. The plain lassi was sweet and high in sugar content. Overall, the portion size was generous, especially with the naan. The tomato paste in the curry was particularly tasty. While there were no super cheap menu options, the prices were reasonable compared to other restaurants. Thank you for the delicious meal!

They have completely moved from the lower part of the river to here. Initially, it seems like the lower part was also in operation, but there are no customers today. I ordered the "Mutton Spinach Curry" at the usual counter seat, with a mild level of spiciness, number 10. Even though the menu only goes up to 4, you can ask for any level of spiciness here. I chose naan over rice, and they offer unlimited refills for both. I also ordered the "Hot Chai". Nepalese curry doesn't use ghee or yogurt like Indian curry, so you can taste the direct flavor of the vegetables. That's why I love spinach, which is used in their curries. I always look for Spinach Mutton or Spinach Lamb in other Indian and Nepalese curry restaurants. By always ordering Spinach Mutton or Spinach Lamb, I can start to notice the differences between restaurants. For SR, this place is the most familiar Nepalese curry restaurant. The chai here is my favorite. Even though I ordered level 10 spiciness, maybe I should have gone a bit spicier to fully enjoy the spices. The chai is always served hot, and it's quite sweet. Drinking the hot chai helps to quickly soothe the spiciness in your mouth. If you prefer lassi when it's spicy, then that's fine, but I just really like the hot chai here. So, why not try some Nepalese curry at Mazeli? Mazeli is also a cozy place.

On a Sunday afternoon, on the way back from stopping by a nearby butcher shop, I stumbled upon an Indian curry restaurant! There was a sign for all-you-can-eat that caught my attention. I decided to make a pit stop in the parking lot in front of the restaurant! The interior was dimly lit. There were about two groups of customers already seated. We quickly looked at the menu at the table. It seemed like they only offered individual items. When we asked, it turned out that they no longer offered all-you-can-eat, but that's okay (laughs). So, we refocused and ordered individual items - I got the usual butter chicken curry and garlic naan, while KG got cheese chicken curry and plain naan. For sides, we ordered seekh kebab, tandoori chicken, and aloo jeera. The wait for the food wasn't too long, nor was it particularly quick. We started with the sides. The tandoori chicken and seekh kebab seemed a bit overcooked, drying out the moisture. The aloo jeera had the reliable cumin flavor, which was decent. The butter chicken curry had a slightly strong tomato flavor, but the consistency was good. KG's cheese chicken curry was a bit thin. The curries were all average, and the garlic naan seemed overcooked, becoming crispy, which was a bit disappointing. Perhaps the regular naan would be better. They also had soup curry on the menu, and overall, the restaurant offers a variety of dishes, so if you don't mind the quality too much, you might enjoy it. Thank you for the meal!

I was in the mood for curry, so I headed here. I tried the Himalaya Set with shrimp curry and spinach curry, along with naan, and it was delicious. It had a hint of sweetness that made me want to have seconds. I left some rice and salad uneaten. If I come again, I think I'll just order the roux curry with naan. I wasn't sure how to order, so I ended up getting the set right away. The lassi was also rich and tasty. It was medium spicy, but just the right amount of heat.

I'm here for a little gathering of mischievous individuals and scheming over a meal. There are only a few months left, so these scheming meals will increase. My order is the "Sagarm Curry" with "Naan," but the mischievous individual was indecisive and went with the "Himalaya Set." They wanted to try both naan and rice. Greedy, aren't they? As for me, I stuck with the spiciness level at 15, just like last time. This place serves Nepalese curry, different from Indian curry as it doesn't use ghee or yogurt, lacking depth in flavor. It's a dish with the sweetness of vegetables and spices, so eating it at the spiciest level you can handle is the way to go. That's why I go for level 15. The mischievous individual is sensitive to spiciness, usually choosing level 3 for safety. Shall I have them try a bite of level 15? As expected, they made a face and are desperately drinking water, but the spiciness won't go away easily. Hot chai is the most effective way to reduce the spiciness. Today, I gave them a lecture, so next time, they should drink chai beforehand. Well, let's enjoy the meal!

Today, I had a Nepalese curry lunch at MaZeri near Hassamu Chuo Station. I've been to a few places around here, but I always feel limited by the curry choices in the set menu. I wish they would let me choose more freely... In the end, I ordered the Himalaya Set (with a drink). For this set, the default curries are shrimp curry and chicken spinach curry. I was also interested in the mutton and boneless chicken curry, but I decided to go with the default this time to avoid getting bored later on. Here, when you order a curry dish or a set menu, you can have unlimited rice and plain naan. It took about 10 minutes for the food to arrive. The naan is huge... it's so filling that I didn't need a refill! The shrimp curry has a delicious sweetness from the shrimp. The spinach curry, with chicken in it as well, has a variety of spices that make it tasty. Both were ordered medium spicy, and they had just the right amount of heat - not too spicy, but not lacking in spiciness either. As always, the Thousand Island dressing at Indian curry restaurants has such a strong color. Why is it so bright even though it's Thousand Island dressing? I enjoyed delicious Indian curry once again today. However, the lassi was a bit too thin.

Oh? It's been a month since I last came here. Let's go! Today, I'll have some naan bread. I'll go with the usual Sag Mutton curry. Even though the menu only goes up to level 4 spiciness, I asked for level 15. I tried level 10 last time, but today I wanted to challenge myself with level 15. The lamb meat is considered a luxury meat now, with the demand for sheep meat increasing in China. I wonder if lamb meat wholesalers from Australia and New Zealand are experiencing a boom. As for me, being a true Hokkaido native, I'm used to sheep meat from Genghis Khan, so I always go for mutton curry. Yes! Choosing level 15 spiciness was the right decision. It's easier to eat compared to level 10 last time, and I can feel not only the spiciness but also other spices. Unlike Indian curry, they don't use ghee or yogurt here. It's a mix of vegetable (spinach) flavors and spices. I feel the spiciness more strongly when it's really hot. Oh, I recently discovered that the "hot chai" is really delicious. I haven't compared it to other chai teas, but it really helps to soothe the spiciness in my mouth. It might take some courage to try it, but hot chai is the best when it's spicy. I found a new way to enjoy this place! Eating at the maximum spiciness I can handle allows me to enjoy the curry here. I'll definitely come back for the Sag Mutton curry again.

The restaurant opened in October, and I have visited it a few times, but they don't have Biryani (´・ω・`) I heard that they were going to change the menu starting from November, so I decided to visit again to see what's up. Turns out, they hadn't changed the menu. Well, that's okay. I heard that they closed a restaurant in Shiraishi and are now focusing on this one in Hassamu. Must be tough, but good luck to them! So, I ordered the "Mutton Curry" with spice level 10 and a "Hot Chai." I usually like the Spinach Curry (Sag Curry), so I often choose Mutton Sag, but since they didn't have Biryani, I went with Mutton Curry this time. Oh, by the way, here you can choose between Naan and Rice, but if you don't specify, it automatically comes with Naan, so be careful (^^) Spice level 10 was just right for me, personally. The menu says it's very hot at level 4, but spice tolerance varies from person to person, so you have to try it a few times. Oh, and I really think their Chai is delicious. It's spicy, of course, but the best part is that it's piping hot! It's so hot that you'll panic if you accidentally touch the cup! And this heat helps to balance out the spiciness in your mouth. Yeah, I guess I really do prefer Mutton or Lamb curry. I just love the taste of lamb meat (^^) I've been used to eating lamb since I was born, thanks to having Genghis Khan, so that's probably why. Whether it's onion paste or spinach paste, I love Mutton Curry the most (^^) So, try the Mutton Curry and piping hot Chai at this place! It's cozy here at Mazeli ♫

Last night, while checking out restaurants on Tabelog, I found a new restaurant that opened last month. What caught my eye was that they serve Nepalese curry, including soup curry. It was nearby, so I decided to give it a try for lunch today. I arrived at the restaurant around 11:30 am. There was only one other group of customers at the back. The staff seemed to be Nepalese or Indian, and some spoke fluent Japanese. I quickly spotted the soup curry on the lunch menu and chose the "Chicken & Vegetable Soup Curry" with naan. I selected a spice level of 3, and it cost ¥990 including tax. I also registered on LINE to receive a complimentary drink or salad, and I got a lassi. The soup curry, naan, and salad were served after about 10 minutes. The salad was a small portion, and the soup curry had a chicken leg in the center with a moderate amount of vegetables. The spice level was not too hot at level 3, more like a medium spice. The unique flavor and medicinal properties of Nepalese cuisine made it delicious. I dipped the naan in the soup curry and found it even tastier than eating it with rice. The naan was slightly thinner, making it easy to eat quickly. I ordered an additional half portion of naan, which arrived just in time. The chicken was tender with a good texture. I enjoyed the meal with lassi after finishing the soup curry and naan. I paid with PayPay, and overall, it was a unique and valuable dining experience at a restaurant where you can enjoy soup curry with naan, especially during lunchtime.

There are some adult circumstances, so I'm pretty much hanging around here. Today, I'll try the soup curry that everyone seems to be saying "kind of lacking" about. I ordered the "Mutton and Vegetable Soup Curry" with a spice level of 10. And I've been curious about the "Momos" for a while, so I'll order those too. Hmm! This soup curry is a bit lacking for me. What's lacking is the "dashi" broth. You see, us Japanese people have a culture centered around "dashi". Even in everyday miso soup, we value the "dashi". In India and Nepal, they don't have the same "dashi" culture. They enhance the flavor with various spices for the umami and sweetness of the vegetables. Also, in Indian curry, they use ghee (butter) and yogurt, right? That's why Indian curry has a deeper flavor. In Nepal, they don't use ghee or yogurt, so it's all about the natural flavor of the ingredients. It might feel "lacking" to us, but if you think about it as offering the "authentic" taste without catering to Japanese preferences, it becomes even more "appreciated". As for the Momos, originally they're a Tibetan dish, derived from Chinese dumplings. Nepal has a strong cultural influence from Tibet due to their interactions, so their food culture is also influenced. So, even though you might feel a bit "lacking", consider it as their "serious effort". Why not give it a try? You'll feel satisfied, Magellan-san♫

There are about 10 counter seats, 3 spacious tables, and 2 small tables for 2 people at this restaurant. They offer set menus and a la carte options, making it easy to choose from. I decided to go with the lunch set which includes soup curry with unlimited naan and rice. Yes, you can have both naan and rice as much as you want! The soup curry comes with a salad, and I chose the vegetable option with the maximum spiciness level of 4. The naan was delicious, and the soup curry was flavorful with plenty of vegetables. Although the spiciness was just right for me, the portion was generous and filling. I wanted to have more naan, but unfortunately, I couldn't. However, I saw other male customers getting refills. The staff checked on us but we were finished. I understand why this place is popular. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Located in the Hakkon area, this curry restaurant is situated along the Ginnan Street shopping district. There is parking space in front of the store. When I visited for lunch, I noticed that the long lines that were present during the grand opening have started to die down. The interior of the restaurant has counter seats, table seats, and raised seating areas. While deciding on what to order from the menu, which includes various curry options and set meals, I chose the "Masari Special" (1,590 yen) which allows you to enjoy both paste curry and soup curry. This set includes chicken soup curry, chicken sag curry, salad, tandoori chicken, naan, rice, and lassi or Nepalese beer. It may be a bit pricey, but the contents are very luxurious. The dishes were ready in about 10 minutes. The paste curry, naan, and tandoori chicken had an authentic flavor cooked by a foreign chef, making them very delicious. The soup curry had a high salt content typical of Indian-Nepalese restaurants, with plenty of ingredients, but I personally found the base soup lacking in flavor. The "Special" lived up to its name with generous portions that left me feeling full. I also plan to try the paste curry with cheese naan in the future as it is reasonably priced.

The Cheese Naan Set comes with salad, Chicken Tikka, and a drink. There are various types of curry paste available, and this time I tried the mutton curry! It was delicious with chunks of mutton in it. The Cheese Naan is quite heavy and can become hard in about 20 minutes, so be careful! Naan and rice are all-you-can-eat! The curry made by the Nepalese owner was delicious. The restaurant is relatively empty most of the time. They have irregular holidays, so sometimes they may be closed without notice, so please be aware of that!

Alright! I'm back in this area again! I'll make sure to visit the newly opened shops around here. But you know, there are always adult circumstances involved, can't help it. Today, I ordered the "Sagumaton" again. Last time, I chose level 4 spiciness but it wasn't enough for me. So this time, I doubled it to level 8. This place serves Nepalese curry, which is different from Indian curry. Nepalese curry is more watery compared to Indian curry because it doesn't use ghee (butter) or yogurt. It feels like something is missing, but on the other hand, it might be considered as staying true to the authentic taste. Just like how Chinese cuisine in its home country is "Chinese cuisine" while the version adapted for Japanese taste is "Chinese food." Maybe staying true to the authentic taste is what they are aiming for. This restaurant is still new, so they have room to improve. I hope they do their best! ♫

On a certain weekday, I visited an Indian curry restaurant that had recently opened in Higashi-ku, Hassamu 12-jo. The restaurant had a parking space for two cars in front, but if it's full, you may need to park at a nearby coin parking lot. The interior had a traditional Japanese feel with a counter and several table seats. The background music was Indian music videos playing on the TV. I chose the "Nepal Set (990 yen)" from the lunch menu, with a spice level of "medium" and a lassi drink. The dish consisted of two curries - a flavorful keema curry and a spinach curry with tender chicken pieces. The naan bread was thin and buttery, and you could have unlimited refills. The rice was sticky, and the salad had a classic sweet orange dressing. The side dishes were spicy and included green beans, potatoes, carrots, peas, and corn. Overall, it was a satisfying meal under 1000 yen with a drink included. Thank you for the meal.

A new authentic Indian curry restaurant has opened and I just had to go check it out! My partner and I walked in for the first time and immediately felt the exotic atmosphere - the lovely and cute staff greeted us with a slightly awkward "Irasshaimase." The service was great, with smiles all around. I ordered the mixed seafood curry (spicy) and my partner got the keema egg curry (medium spicy), along with a side of green salad. The atmosphere and service were really nice, but... well... I think Japanese people prefer curry that is more tailored to Japanese tastes... The curry just didn't hit the spot for me. Even the spicy one wasn't really spicy at all. The seafood was fresh and delicious, but the curry itself lacked a punch or depth of flavor... It felt a bit bland, like it didn't taste much like curry... The naan bread was more oily than soft and chewy, and I couldn't finish even a third of it. My partner added some rice on top of the naan, but honestly, it didn't really go well together... Overall, the flavors were kind of vague and didn't make me want to come back for more... I'm sorry... If someone told me that this is how real curry tastes, I would nod in understanding, but for my taste buds, it just didn't work. The green salad was just average, nothing special. Thank you for the meal!

Well, it's my second time here. Last time I had a set menu, so today I'm going back to basics with ordering individual items. Personally, I love spinach curry when it comes to Indian and Nepalese curries. That's why I always go for Saag Mutton or Saag Lamb. This place serves the curry with either rice or naan, and this time I opted for cheese naan. It's basically like a regular naan but with cheese on top. As for the curry, I went for the fourth level of spiciness, but even that wasn't hot enough for me. Nepalese curry tends to be less spicy compared to Indian curry. I had a chat with the owner, and apparently they'll be changing some menu items next month. I requested for them to add Biryani and Roti (Chapati) to the menu, and they said they'll consider it. Looking forward to trying their Biryani with either lamb or fish next time!
