I came to Shakotan town for a visit in December 2018 and decided to eat something in this area while I was here. I was originally aiming for a seafood bowl, but I was told they weren't serving it at this time of year. So, I decided to try the limited edition spicy miso ramen instead. The spicy miso ramen (750 yen) arrived with shredded white leeks on top, which caught my eye. The soup was light and lacked depth, perhaps because it's not a ramen shop. The spiciness seemed to come from the chili oil. The noodles were medium-thin with a good chew. The toppings included white leeks, bean sprouts, ground meat, chashu, menma, and a boiled egg. The chashu seemed like it might be store-bought. I was drawn in by the limited edition, but I didn't feel like it was worth the price in the end.

This is my 3rd year continuing to visit! The sea urchin bowl is delicious, and I feel like there is more sea urchin compared to other restaurants. The Shakotan area is also good, but Tanakaya is the best!! The simmered hokke is also good!

I had lunch at Ichinaka-ya in Furudaira-cho. The restaurant is located in the Shinchi district along the national highway. Nearby, you can find Minato Sushi and Shinka Sushi, which I introduced before. The interior of the restaurant is relatively new and clean. They also operate as a seafood izakaya at night. I ordered the Tanakaya bento (I think it was around 1,100 yen). The sashimi was local yellowtail and very delicious! The portion of side dishes was generous, and it was enough to eat with one bowl of rice. The fried dishes were also satisfying (pumpkin tempura, hokke fry, and large zangi). I left the restaurant feeling very satisfied. It was really delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I had the seasonal Uni Don at the seafood izakaya "Tanakaya" in Furubira. A friend from Yoichi recommended it as "delicious" and my expectations were exceeded. The Uni Don had a gentle, sea-scented sweetness that was truly delicious. It had a depth of flavor that I haven't experienced in other Uni Don dishes before. My friend ordered a seafood bowl which had fresh scallops and surf clams that were delightfully chewy. The squid was also freshly caught and translucent. The tuna, flounder, yellowtail, salmon, and seasonal Nanban shrimp were all incredibly tasty. It was a blissful meal! This is a local spot where the seafood is top-notch, and being recommended by a local from Yoichi guarantees its quality. They don't have a lunch break so you can enjoy a meal here anytime. Make sure to come on an empty stomach! There also seems to be a branch in the Furubira Onsen.
