I went out for lunch. I ordered the limited-time "Shay Shay Set" and my wife ordered the limited quantity "Liver and Leek Set" available on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. The Shay Shay Set includes two main dishes: "Green Pepper Pork Strips" and "Shrimp Chili." The Green Pepper Pork Strips were crunchy with a light flavor, while the Shrimp Chili was slightly salty. Both dishes were delicious. The Liver and Leek Set had tender liver without any strong taste, and it was incredibly tasty. I also ordered the "Oil Dripping Chicken" for takeout, but it was just regular fried chicken with a mysterious sauce on top, not what I expected for Oil Dripping Chicken. I don't think I'll order it again after trying it once.

Mapo tofu set meal for 1,100 yen (tax included) has been revised. It comes with rice, soup, and pickled vegetables, and you can get refills. The Mapo tofu has a medium level of spiciness, but you can request for it to be less spicy. The rice is delicious, and the pickled vegetables and soup have just the right flavor. The restaurant is located near a residential area and fields, and I had never heard of it before. I definitely want to go back to this restaurant.

I visited around 12:30 on a weekday. It's a popular place, as it was almost full. Since I was alone, I was able to sit at the counter. I had been craving liver and leek, so I quickly decided on the liver and leek stir-fry set meal. The liver was tender, and the leeks and bean sprouts were crunchy and delicious. However, the portion was a bit small for me, as I love to eat. The meal also came with soup and pickled vegetables.

I thought the store had closed, so this was my first visit to the new location. I ordered the shrimp salt broth ramen and mini fried rice. The delicious soup I remembered came back to me. The shrimp was firm, the sauce was rich, and the saltiness was just right.

When I moved to Sapporo alone for work, I was looking for a delicious ramen shop that wasn't a chain store. I heard that the tantanmen was delicious, so I went to eat. The soup had a spicy kick and a rich flavor, making it a perfect balance of richness and ease of eating.

If you ask where to eat Chinese food in Kutchan, this restaurant is usually mentioned as the second option. Some people say it's hard to choose between this place and another top-rated one based on personal taste preferences. It's located quite far from the bustling downtown area of Kutchan, more like a suburban restaurant. This place is also known for its mapo tofu, so I ordered mapo tofu and my personal favorite, oily chicken. Despite coming a bit off-peak hours to the outskirts, the restaurant was quite busy. First, I tried the oily chicken, and personally, I found the sauce a bit light. It's slightly salty, and I like to eat it with green onions and fried chicken, so it might be a matter of taste. Next, I had the mapo tofu with egg soup, pickled vegetables, and a salad, which felt like a good deal. The mapo tofu here has a more home-cooked feel compared to the authentic mapo tofu I had recently. It's not very spicy, so I think it's easy for anyone to enjoy. If you have young children with you and want to eat Chinese food in Kutchan, I recommend this restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

I visited a Chinese restaurant in Kutchan Town that I had been curious about for a while. The restaurant is located near the Ogawara Shu Memorial Museum and the Shibetsu River. The parking lot was located at the back after passing through a gravel road next to the restaurant. When I entered around 1 pm, the place was bustling with local men. It seems to be popular among male customers. I looked at the menu and decided to order the mapo tofu set meal, which was listed at the top. After waiting for about 5 minutes, a piping hot mapo tofu was served. The set meal included soup, pickled vegetables, and a small side dish in addition to the main dish, all for 1,000 yen. It was a delicious meal with just the right price, portion, and balance. Thank you for the meal!

I was disappointed when I heard that the famous Chinese restaurant Shay Shay in Kutchan had closed down, but then I found out that they had relocated and reopened with a new look! The new location is straight down the main street, past the town hall and the promotion bureau. Just when I started to wonder if I was on the right track, I saw the familiar sign for "tantanmen"! It had been a while since I last had it, and it was delicious! Thank you for the meal! (^o^)

I arrived around 12:40 with no waiting time and smoothly entered the restaurant. I ordered the mixed vegetable stir-fried noodles, shrimp and fluffy egg in chili sauce set meal, and mapo tofu. The mixed vegetable stir-fried noodles were especially delicious.

The five-ingredient yakisoba was a regular size, but my stomach was completely full.

I had tantanmen. Unlike the tantanmen served in ramen shops, this one had a strong sesame flavor instead of sweetness. Personally, I liked the taste.
